The list I took. What do ya think? Should I swap Trog/Astrolith for Carno/Starseer? Bring a Slann like a normal player? lol Seraphon - Shadowstrike Starhost Skink Oracle on Troglodon (280) [General] [Incandescent Rectrices] [Being of the Stars] - 5 x Hunters of Huanchi with Starstone Bolas (90) - 5 x Hunters of Huanchi with Starstone Bolas (90) - 10 x Raptadon Chargers (280) Saurus Astrolith Bearer (150) - 20 x Saurus Warriors (340) - 20 x Saurus Warriors (340) - 10 x Saurus Warriors (170) Elthwin's Thorns (260) Realmshaper Engine [Lore of Celestial Manipulation] [Primal Energy] 2000/2000pts 3 drops Generated by Listbot 4.0
Looks really fun and inspiring me to try something similar. Id say some interesting variations would be swapping: - Trog for Slaan (seems like a great list for recursion) - Astrolith for Starseer - Thorns for Saviors or Ark of Sotek I think our monsters (Besides bastiladons) are over costed / under performers competitively : ( But your list looks super fun, did you feel like you had the damage to deal with a big monster like SCE Dragons / Archaon / 6 varanguard?
Would it help to switch out the Trog for a Scar-vet on carno, and the Astro for a Starseer? That way you're still on 2000 points, and get an additional cast, a 5+ ward, shut down a ward, and a monster that does better in combat. Or if you'd take the Oldblood on foot for the warriors, would you take the "Reptilian Cunning" on him as well to give the warriors a free AoA, as they will move and charge in together? If you'd take him instead of the Trog, you have 170 points left for another unit of warriors 😂 A 60-warriors list! Or just swap the Astro for the Starseer and take another unit of Raptadons (either hunters or chargers) for some extra board control.
It's always so hard to say "no" to a Slann, they just make a lot of sense but I'm starting to have my doubts whether or not they are a "must", I think lacking a +1 to the unbind makes that board wide unbind less crucial. Of course the recursion is nice but in this list you're only really bringing back the Hunters and the Chargers, I think this is a nice list to play without a Slann. I think the Carno/Starseer make a lot of sense to me, they can do damage in the right situation and the Seer is just a great little caster.
In my unqualified opinion (played a lot of wargames in my time, but only one game of AoS4 so far), I feel like you need some more 'hammer' to go with your anvil. The Slaan's recursion would largely go to waste here I feel, cos your Saurus basically *aren't* dying in whole units. Whether that's swapping the heroes or doing that AND finding some points somewhere (maybe going down to only 40 Saurus instead of 50?) for some more killy stuff is up to you, but this list just feels a little too focused on taking it on the chin, and if the opponent has something to counter your durability/anti-charge tech, like that last list, you just don't have any recourse. So... yeah, that's my unqualified advice. Swap out some of your anvil for some more hammer, but not TOO much.
Actually describing how you played each round, and thoughts behind the moves was awesome. I am a new player to AoS and this commentary is helping me understand how to play my Seraphon more now. Man, learned so much that pro's do different, guess I know why I haven't won a game yet (0-4)
love that you show the state of your games and explain what you did and why helps understanding the game much better thank you for all your content. really appreciate you taking pictures of the game
Just played a game with 40 warriors against Khorne, and 1 block of 20 managed to keep a Bloodthirster locked in combat for 2 full rounds. In the second round a second Bloodthirster even came to aid to destroy my block. With standing on an objective, All-out-Defense and Itzl's -1 rend, my friend found it incredibly difficult to cut through my save, even with 4 rend! I... was... speechless... and very much positively surprised! These blocks work! :D And a unit of 10 Raptadons made quick work on his backline, while my warriors were tanking his hammers. Played it with a Starseer and Primal Energies manifestation lore. Sadly no Mythical Unforging was cast to even buff my warriors even more. Couldn't get in range in time. The Lifeswarm fumbled and sucked. But I liked the Jaws, and the Burning Head really surprised me as well. It did good.
Battle 3 is such a rough matchup in terms of what you want to do, it just ticks all the boxes haha. 3D6 Charging, sustained range damage, meaning your asterism isn't helping. Another weird objective placement meaning you are probably not getting that +1 to saves. Still I really love the more Saurus heavy lists, I plan on trying Kroak and 20 Guard against a friend in the coming days.

Almost 50 minutes of Seraphon content? That's what I'm talking about! Hope everyone has a good day.

Awesome! Keep getting those reps in. This is a difficult (but fun) game we play!
Thanks for testing your Saurus Theory from the last video
Sorry Wife but the guy talking about our little lizards uploaded again. I´ll come to bed later :D
Hahaha
Comment seems familiar 🤔

Thanks for the breakdown and taking us through your decisions. Great video!

List I played:
Battle formation
- Shadowstrike Starhost
Spell lore
- [Lore of Celestial Manipulation]
- [Primal Energy]
2000/2000pts
4 drops
Skink Starseer (160)
[General]
- 5 x Hunters of Huanchi with Starstone Bolas (90)
- 5 x Hunters of Huanchi with Starstone Bolas (90)
- 10 x Raptadon Chargers (280)
Saurus Oldblood on Carnosaur (330)
[Incandescent Rectrices]
[Being of the Stars]
- 20 x Saurus Warriors (340)
- 20 x Saurus Warriors (340)
Skink Starpriest (110)
Regiment of Renown
- Elthwin's Thorns (260)
Faction terrain
- Realmshaper Engine
Skink on Troglodon: I really like that guy. He's some kind of pain in the ### for the opponent.
Can you do a video going over our units and the Battle tactics that work well with them? Maybe also how to best score them?

And he even had an endless spell that removed my Astrolith's 6+ ward bubble!!! Haha
@@CalebHastings Oh yeah that's a thing, my friend also plays OBR and usually takes that spell lore, how brutal 🤕
I honestly can’t believe AoS is better than 40K now.
The game is slept on to no end
What are thoughts for a similar list (with the Carnosaur and Starseer swap) but with the Khrondspine? Or is Primal better?
Would you change the list to have a Slann instead of the Trog?

Thanks Calebsaurus Rex!
@@gradybollas7873 For the algorithm! 😀
The moving or limited objective battleplans seem like a real downside to the saurus warriors
Do you have a discord?
Nope, sorry. But I do try to read all the comments here on youtube!
