Love this play, but I never understood why Hamlet is not the King after his King father’s death by whatever means that death occurred. Kingship passes to sons not brothers unless the new king is usurper or no offspring available. Claudius is a usurper, but no one cares about that, not even Hamlet who seems more concerned with who mommy is sleeping with than unlawful kingship. If this question was answered, sorry, missed it.
They have Italian names because Shakespeare was of Italian origins. So WS disseminated his works of Italian references

@@Max.Wiggins Inoltre la Tempesta, che è il testamento spirituale di WS, parla di un uomo di Milano e di uno Spirito della Creatività (WM e la sua arte), Ariel, esiliato su un'isola stregata (la Bretagna) che alla fine trova la sua pace riconciliandosi con i suoi compatrioti (il re di Napoli etc). In quest'opera WS ha voluto fornire indizi su chi fosse realmente. Guardi anche l'unico ritratto dal vivo di WS, il r. di Chandos, e mi dica se è il volto di un inglese o di un siciliano
