Then she kicks into Empire State of mind. I always felt her version was the perfect modern-day sequel to Billy Joel's original. They both have so much heart.
I started crying when the intro piano played. Knowing that all of us right here had been through so much in the passed decade.

Iam from Germany. I went to New York last year for the first time. Everything made sense at the very first moment I saw that Skyline checked into our hotel 800m away from times Square. After a over 18 hours day in the middle of the night we ran down the street to times Square and all came together.
Everytime I hear this song and I loved it before tears run down my cheeks because of this wonderful feeling in my heart and the urgent need to get back.
