We have limestone roads which kinda sucks. Our city is very small and we need to get one of these. The other cool thing about these land planes is they will also undercut any and all weeds/grass that is creeping on your road including cutting back a road that has been overgrown. I wish we had to money to buy something like this. Like I said our city is small and we have a very tiny budget. I am going to check with some farmers around me and see if anyone has one laying about. They made some for farming decades ago. I think they are called sweeps and no one uses them anymore. If someone had one of them it would do the same thing just much larger. I would be find with cutting 16 foot roads again as some roads are 10 feet wide now as the grass has creeped a lot.
@@WesternEquipment We are middle north Kansas. I think I once saw one or someone talked about one you can add to your reese hitch for your atv or your truck. Being able to add to a truck would be super!
Very informative, thanks. I've always used a box scraper and it requires some real finesse to get it right. The land plane looks like it's much easier to use. Great audio, by the way. I'm impressed by how easy it was to hear you while you were driving the tractor.
This is true. I ended up going back to this spot a couple of days later for a second round and did have it leveled out better and it definitely came out smoother. Thanks for watching!
@@WesternEquipment have you ever taken a look statistically at what tractor brands are in the shop more than any other? I suggest when you have time take a look my opinion will suddenly change into reality
Excellent commentary!
You need to drop the rear down a little to have the front and rear blades cutting evenly. This is where the hydraulic top link really shines.

Stretch out your top link. Get that rear blade in the job.

Thank you and I hope you enjoy your new tractor!
That’s a really awesome tool !!!! I would love to have one for my drive way !!

That’s awesome
I kind of think so too!
You were having fun, weren't you?
Yes, I definitely was haha!
If you actually level the land plane and use the rear blade, it would have cut better.
This is true and an error on my part.
Next time level your plane. Entire back end isn’t dragging no digging on second blade. Top link too short. Honestly a bad example of using this.

I definitely wouldn't use a John deere not reliable and weak
Well everybody is entitled to their own opinion.
