I have a black post facelift S3 as well., Honestly with the resonator delete(I had from factory) IMO it is one of the best sounding 4 banger performance engines out there..sounds nice and deep, aggressive while not sounding too "ricer". I like when you cruise there is not much exhaust note, no drone but you boot it and it roars to life.
Hi, does it also sound great or different in other modes like comfort/efficiency? Also have you made the valve open change (i.e. have the valves permanently open)?
Yes it does sound okay still in comfort mode although not as loud obviously and no I have not modified the car in any other way including leaving the valves permanently open.
Great video, really helps clarify the difference. Two questions 1. Will the resonator delete have any long term impacts on the engine? What's its initial purpose anyway? 2. I assume this will void the warranty on a brand new Audi?
No. Anything from the cat to the tips won’t flag your car as TD1 and void the warranty. If you were to add a CAI or performance down pipe the dealer could choose to flag the car. Depends on your relationship with the service dept/manager. A tune to the engine/trans could void your warranty if they see the ecu/tcu were flashed when the dealer scans your car and the data gets sent to Audi HQ.
Hey man could you do a longer video so i can hear the crackles and pops? how much did it cost for the part? and did audi fit it themselves ? was it welded on or clamped?
Hi Jose, I’ll try and do one soon. I can assure you it’s quite loud down or up changing gears in manual/sports mode from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to third. The cost I mentioned in a previous post but it was approximately $500.00 including installation. The part is no longer available from Audi but after market is ok. In terms of installation don’t use Audi they had no clue. It was clamped and sealed so it can be removed if you plan to sell the car one day.
Good day, I’m looking to remove drone from my 17 Stage 2 S3. My car has factory resonator delete option. My question is if I want to add resonator back in where is the stock one typically located?
Hi Will, No I’m in Melbourne unfortunately. I actually bought the original part from KMD tuning in the states as you can’t buy it from Audi Australia. I had it fitted by a local exhaust center as Audi had no idea how to install it. The part was around $350 and install about $150. It’s a relatively cheap mod for big improvement in sound and power.
Thanks. It sounds absolutely awesome. I am very tempted to do the same. Do you know if it is better to use the OEM part or do you get the same results with exhaust shops using their own sourced parts?
Hi Will, I opted for the genuine part as it made sense to me over a non genuine. Also cost wise it was the same. Here is the Audi part number for your reference 8V5071904. Hope this helps and good luck with it all.

No a res will causes no engine strain it’ll benefit from it as it’s free flowing, as the exhaust gases doesn’t have a restriction to pass through

@@johnc3250 hey man thanks a lot for your reply, do the clamps leak ?

In what sense? The resonator is located just before the exhaust pipes if that’s what your asking.
Resonator is between the Cat and Backbox. Normally middle section.
@@autisticlogistics3713 between cat?, there's not cats on the car besides in the downpipe
Can I ask where you got this done (are you located in Syd)? Also do you have any other mods to your car/exhaust?

No other mods at all and don’t plan any.

I don’t think there’s a difference in sound Will just that I’m a always a genuine over non genuine purchaser.
Do you have a tune on this car to make it crackle like that?
Hi Chaz,
No it doesn’t need tuning in Australia there’s only 1 resonator before the muffler so removing it will give you the crackle and pop.
Great video man
Thanks buddy love the new exhaust note. It should be standard on all S3’s.
is this one with an opf filter?
MVE
No the car is not modified in any other way.
MVE 2019 onwards so no opf
