Spot on about Bruno being able to bridge cultures and appeal to people of all backgrounds. He's one of those "total entertainers" of years past. Decades ago, it used to be quite common for entertainers to do it all....sing, dance, play an instrument, act...you name it. Unfortunately, that's all too rare these days, but Bruno is one of those. He's a breath of fresh air, and he strikes me as a really classy dude overall. Mad props!

Totally agreed, from one of your metal fans: Bruno Mars is the shit. Definitely something for everyone in his music. And as you say, not necessarily the most groundbreaking artist out there, but all the same it takes a special kind of talent to appeal to so many people. He's always authentic, always a great vocalist, and one gets the sense that he really loves what he does - not just in it for the money.

What I love about Bruno Mars is that he also infuses that amazing old school funk sound which is sorta a lost art alongside traditional R&B because you don't get music like Earth,Wind, and Fire or Lakeside or even S.O.S band anymore. However you can see it with Brunos recent records and you get that funk vibe like you next on Soul Train lmfaooooo and his songs are memorable and even if it does have that old school element he flipped it into a more modern setting and that is hella dope. I thought he killed this and Cardi B also did great on the track with how they collaborated and portrayed the 90's vibe. Great song and Great reaction from you guys and getting to those Top Trending songs on time lmao.

In Living color came on before Married With Children on Sun night, In addition to the Wayans bros, Jim Carrey,David Alan Grier,Jaime Foxx,and Tommy Davidson also started careers on the show, and J Lo was one of the fly girls. One of the best shows in history,besides Married With Children.Good times back then.

I love videos like this because I love to see people who appreciate good music give Bruno the respect he deserves. My only complaint is that you say you "want something different" from him, yet you admit to not having listened to the album in its entirety. Listen to all 3 of his albums (Doo-Wops and Hooligans, Unorthodox Jukebox, and 24K Magic), and then get back to me. I think you'll see more versatility than you realize.

What is “ground breaking” music these days?
He’s a throwback in my opinion. He does M Jackson, he does J Brown and he does 90s R&B. Dude was either born in the wrong era, or was born to bring that music back
Also, he plays and produces his own shit. If that isn’t groundbreaking or unique in today’s world, I don’t know what it.
We are not talking about his talent. We are talking about his CREATIVITY. In rap: Kanye West In Metal: Gojira In R&B: SZA . These are all artists that I feel have at least moved the needle creatively (to answer your initial question). Bruno is great, he's just not on the high end of the spectrum creatively with how he composes his music. It doesn't change the fact that he's made great commercial music.

I agree with George's sentiment about Bruno taking inspiration from an earlier time. I love it because it reminds me of growing up with this sound and he's introducing this sound to a newer generation/demographic who missed it the first time around.
