Hello, friends! If you enjoyed the video and wanted to support my channel, I've just started a "Buy me a Coffee" (in my case it would be tea) page which I'll link here: buymeacoffee.com/shawnaexplores but please don't feel any pressure to, the fact you're here and watching already means so much to me ❤
Thank you for watching, I enjoyed doing the video and I enjoyed drinking and describing the coffee at least as much. Thank you for the lovely compliment
How lovely to have such friendly neighbors!! The hot chocolate looked delicious, and tell Alan thanks for letting us come along. I loved how descriptive he was in describing his coffee.
Such a blessing to have lovely neighbours who are also friends!! I’m looking forward to the cooler season just to have more hot chocolate 🙊 hopefully we’ll make it into a series and Alan will be back soon. Thanks for watching, Keri!
Thank you very much. If you want to hear more of me sounding like me in a more relaxed setting like this, Alan's Psychedelic Fry Up is my recently finished music podcast on Spotify. In the last episode you can get to hear what I made of New Zealand when we visited
Such a lovely walk and vlog! You mentioned butternut squash soup, goodness that's so good! And loved/chuckled at your use of "debrief" in the caption, haha. Your walk with Alan was very sweet, and I very much enjoyed your ratings of William and Johnson there at the end. Gosh, such a beautiful outing, thanks for taking us along!
Still deciding over the best recipe to use, who knew there were so many different ways to make butternut squash soup 😂 thanks so much for watching Patrick and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!!
It was nice seeing Leith from your perspective since mine was concentrating on driving.Looks like you and Alan had all the weather that day, thanks for sharing and enjoy the soup with your mate at the weekend.
I love this vlog. Thank you, Shawana! Also, say hi to your neighbour Allen. This is Sam from Saudi Arabia. I’ve been to Edinbrugh 3 times, but I haven’t been to Leith. Thanks again for your lovely videos. 🌷🌷
What a wonderful video, Shawna! Absolutely loved the vibe. I'll definitely check out that café next time I'm the area (well, country rather). Alan seems like a top bloke and he certainly knows his coffee! You should make this a regular series! On a sadder note: someone ripped the door off the little library?! 😮
Thanks so much, Dirk!! He’s a great chap indeed and a huge craft beer fan so has a wonderful talent for picking out different flavours 😊 we’re hoping to make it a regular series!! And such a shame about the LFL door, it might have been blown off (I’m hoping no one ripped it off 😔).
Love your posts Shawna. I'm from Edinburgh but currently live in Spain. I am however returning to quite a different Edinburgh to the one I knew before I came here - coming up for 8 years so it's great seeing what's what in Leith and to see that your favourite cafe is actually very close to where my first husband and I were once going to buy a house! So I know Exactly where it is - and I live the sound of that hot chocolate you recommend do I'm going to try it! 😀
I just went to Cafe marmalade as I was googling Leith places and your video came up! I went and it was lovely, and have just showed the owner your mention in the video, which he was thrilled by! Thanks!
That’s made my day!! 😍 I’ll need to tell my friend Alan. I’m so glad you enjoyed it. I always find it to be such a welcoming, cosy space and they give you really generous portions!
Nice video, once it got started. Sadly I have to disagree with the enthusiasm for that cafe. After several visits I invariably find the coffee very average, and the staff stand-offish almost to the point of rudeness. I go there only for the outdoor seating.
@@ShawnaExploresHi and thanks for replying to my comment. My two current favourites are the Croft, at the very corner of the Links nearest the police station. They sell pies and cakes from produce literally grown on the premises. A bit yummy mummy at times. Great outdoor seating among the trees. Smiling, chatty staff always. The other is the Artisan at Balfour Street, again with a decent sized outdoors and trees. Great staff and provisions. Customers include various eastern European gangsters, but they’re on their break and don’t bother you. Very cosmopolitan. I loved your walking shots. Andante con GoPro, as the Italians would say if they thought of it :)

Thanks so much for (virtually) joining us! Hoping to make it a series with Alan 😊
How lovely to have such friendly neighbors!! The hot chocolate looked delicious, and tell Alan thanks for letting us come along. I loved how descriptive he was in describing his coffee.
Hi, thanks. I've been describing Craft Beer for years so when I found out premium coffee existed and it was delicious it was a no-brainer.
Such a blessing to have lovely neighbours who are also friends!! I’m looking forward to the cooler season just to have more hot chocolate 🙊 hopefully we’ll make it into a series and Alan will be back soon. Thanks for watching, Keri!
Alan certainly knows his coffee. What a great guy.

Wow, Alan is great at describing the coffees! Also, that cheese toastie looked delicious.
Isn’t he fab and I’m definitely trying that cheese toastie next time!! 😄

We love Coffee Reviews with Alan™️! Leith is so lovely, loved this one x
Haha I love the trademark 🙊 He’ll be back soon hopefully as I’m hoping he’ll agree to a series of coffee shop reviews! X

What a lovely vlog! I visited Leith last summer during my trip to Edinburgh and I absolutely loved it! Had the best Sunday roast at Roseleaf Bar cafe
I love the Roseleaf Bar!! I’m so glad you enjoyed your visit to Leith 😍 and thank you.

Whoa Alan is a hardcore coffee drinker. 3 drinks in one stop. So impressed! Really enjoyed his descriptions too. ☺
Haha yes, he loves his coffee! He’s more into craft beer but he’s recently got into speciality coffee ☕️
oooh, some Scottish IPA recommendations are more than welcome ahead of our next trip home @@ShawnaExplores 😉🥰
I used to go to Dock Place on a Saturday for the Farmers Market, and take coffee in the same place.
Just discovered your channel. So nice and relaxing. I’m a leither and really enjoyed your walk with Alan
That’s so kind of you, thanks so much!! Would love to film more of Leith in the future as there’s so much to see 😊
@@ShawnaExplores there certainly is and I look forward to the next one 👍
live = love
Hi Shawna, I thought it was genius the way you filmed this video and a lovely way to meet your neighbour Alan.
That’s so kind of you to say!! Thank you so much 🥹 have a wonderful week!
Great choice of music
Thanks so much 🥰
Such a relaxing walk 🩷 I'm on a bit of a time difference, so I watch your videos before work, they're a really nice way to start the day (^_^)=b
Aww thank you so much for watching! I love the idea of starting the day together 🥰 have a blessed day, Carrie!

That’s fair, we’re all allowed to enjoy different things 😊 Where would you recommend for coffee?

"various eastern European gangsters" made me giggle 🤭
