I've seen others mention it already but its important to know that the challenge doesnt end when River finished the career, skills and aspiration.
It states it ends when she dies❤❤
Basically, you play this gen until River passes away from old age, and that's how you complete the entire challenge. Because you already had her marry Vincent and are supposed to stay with him until she dies.

Some parent tips: doing homework, projects, attending school helps with responsibility which I feel is the easiest trait to earn. Using the phone to volunteer with family or using the doctor kit helps empathy. The manners one you have down. And buying the journal and having her write in it helps with emotional control
Emotional control is definitely what I'd recommend for the third character value, in addition to the journal you can do yoga/meditation, jog to clear mind and wind down to classical music on the radio ❤

Kelsey, I just want to say your buildings skills have gotten so good. I was there when you first made Minth's house and were so nervouse about making homes for the mint gen. Since then your houses/ design skills have become top tier and I love all the fun you had along the way. Vincent must be very confused by from where babies come from, between Iris, Beau, and the "science" baby, all of his children arrived in unique ways.
They adopted Bo together, and he and River had been trying when she got pregnant with Iris. The science baby will be biologically his as well.
To be fair, if we're sticking to the storytelling then none of them turned up in weird ways. He and River were trying for a baby when she got pregnant (he just doesn't know it wasn't his), they chose to adopt the second child, and "science baby" is the sims equivalent of going for IVF so he would have been completely in the loop there too
After youve completed the challenge and River passes away, throw a 'Family Reunion' party and have all the Heirs of your challenge come. You have to take heaps of photos as your goal and it would be soo cool to see them all together at the end!
Dont want to say goodbye to this family! They've become such a comfort to so many people.

Final gen: rainbow addition. Wants to break their family traditions of folowing "rules" like finishing an aspiration, making it to the top of their career, having a specific amout of kids, having a specific skill, and being tied to a color. So they live life so the fullest, if she starts something and doesnt like it, its okay to quit, its okay to only get to level 5 of you're career, its okay to not follow "rules" and still live a happy and fulfilled life. Kind of like an anything goes as long as they are happy gen!

Empathy is surprisingly easy,,,, just get a doctor play set and have Iris play with it every day. (Only works for kids, though.) Emotional Control: get Iris a journal. Write in it every day plus "wind down with classical". These activities can continue into teen life stage.
I agree on a Rainbow gen, do a lot of crazy stuff, complete a few challeneges and aspirations, I agree with the no children, instead have lots of house animals. This time a house in a forest by a lake, SO MANY COOL THINGS COULD HAPPEN KELSEY ❤❤❤
Here are some tips for the character values:
Manners: clean up a lot (and make the parents praise them for doing it) + teach them to say thank you
Emotional control: listen to classic music + play with emotions for toys
Empathy: go do charity with the family + play with the first aid Kit
Conflict resolution: one of the other family members have an enemy, and your child want to resolve the conflict + teach them to say sorry

These actions are easy ones I implement in their daily routine to get skills up fast: Emotional Control - journaling and playing with the Night Owl Toy Light
Responsibility - doing homework, taking out the trash, washing dishes
Empathy - the doctor toy kit
Manners - collecting everyone's dishes to clean up
Conflict Resolution - have the parents teach social skills
I think we should stay with River until she passes away. Or do another rainbow generation with Iris! No specific aspirations and just finish up the series that way. Ultimately, it’s your choice but it would be nice to have another episode or two before the end. 😊

I know iris has the teal hair because it’s deshawn’s color but honestly once she’s a teen i could absolutely see her going all out and doing crazy rainbow hair!!!
for character value-- emotional control, kids and teens can wind down with classical music on any stereo, teens can go jogging to wind down or write in a diary. You should also increase Vincent's parenting skills because the kids will go to him for advice too and you want to see how his answers will affect their values

I cannot believe we're actually at the end of this challenge. I've been watching this challenge from the very beginning and I never thought that the end would get me like it did. Thank you so much, Kelsey! It was a blast while it lasted. Just like the 100-baby challenge ended, the not so berry challenge has finally reached this point as well.
River can repeatedly tuck Bow into bed as he sleeps to go into FULL PARENT MODE. Just line it up over and over again. You have to do a parenting interaction repeatedly to meet that goal. She will just kiss his head over and over as he sleeps.
Kelsey - just remember discipline is not always reprimanding; it’s training in the way that is right. This can either be a positive or negative experience depending on how the disciple accepts the guidance.
I think a rainbow generation would be really cool. Seeing Iris try out all different kinds of careers, move to different cities, maybe not have kids but be the fun aunt? Maybe take one thing from each of the previous generations and mix it up. She already has Minthe hair, so a rainbow house would be cool. Maybe have the siblings a bit more involved cause she can be part of multiple extended families and visit a lot. Maybe in River's old age after Vincent is gone Iris learns about her real dad or she figures it out and its choas.
Keep continuously using the make table interaction then the clear table clear table interaction raises manners each time you make the table!
Huge fan Kelsey, i have a tip for you to help iris! You should buy her a doctor playset and/or volunteering as family to help her with that empathy trait!

Still want Rainbow Gen to become Adult and learn about her father actually be her adoptive father and her actual father is a secret affair that she mother had. I want the drama of this happening. Or 2nd idea here. As a Teen, her biological father comes up to Iris when she is out hanging with her friends and they talk and he reveals that he is her biological father and is a Secret affair River had. And then when she gets home. She goes to River and Vincent asking if what she was truth. River will try to decline it, but Vincent will be ask River if it truth too due to being mad. This will lead to River having to reveal the truth. Which will cause a rift between River, Vincent, and Iris due to River hiding her affair, but overtime River helps Vincent and Iris forgive her for what happened due to it only being one time. Bring on the drama, Kelsey!
Rain(Rein or Reign), Cloud, or Aurora (as in Aurora Borealis) as baby names ♡
I think it would be fun to do Reign because they're the last child in a legacy. So the reign of the family is coming to an end 🥹😭

For the parenting mode, I think you need to do three or more parenting actions and you’ll start glowing or sparkling. Basically unlocking full parenting mode 😂

I created a "not so berry 2" challenge just for fun. The first gen is rainbow and gen 9 is inspired by Ivy's ghost mom story. I was so inspired by Kelsey 🥹❤
Prism would be a nice baby name since the shape disperses light and you see a rainbow 🌈

Volunteering is a great and fast way to raise empathy. Also, I believe the child needs to age up into Young Adult to complete that requirement. I forgot which one it is, I think manners, just set and unset the table. Conflict resolution can be done by fighting and apologizing rapidly back to back, helping people solve their difficult relationships and I /think/ by journal writing and other "mindful" activities (like wellness).
Getting a journal helps immensely with emotional control if you have them write in it daily

Traits help: Conflict Resolution and Empathy should be done during the childhood stage. They are the easiest to earn then. Empathy is easiest to get by spamming the doctor kit and Conflict resolution is easiest by having the parent teach to say sorry. Manners is best to set the table or teach to say please and thank you. Emotional control is easiest to earn by practicing yoga. Kids get motor and mental skill doing this as well.
I think for the final episode River and her kids should go visit the family cemetery. The final family photo 😅

For the Empathy thing for Iris, my trick is to make a sim sad and have iris as a teen try to console the sad sim, also the Volunteer option on the phone, the green car, I think she can play with the doctor set for empathy too. For emotional control as a child she can play with emotion and helps, as a teen she can wind down to music, jog to clear mind, or play an instrument she already know how to play.

For Empathy, have them play doctor as children and once they become teens have them write in their journal and do community service hours
On thanksgiving you can have your child send letters to friends/family expressing how grateful they are which will help raise one of their character value traits, can't remember which one...
for the last baby of the challenge you could name them Berry! it might be a bit out there but it’s kinda cute and a full circle moment 🥺
For the science baby, Minth or Rafael would be cool call back names
Tips! Emotional Control: wind down with classical music and journaling work as a child or teen. Responsibility: taking out trash, cleaning dishes, etc. I know if there is a curfew from that parenting board, breaking curfew will reduce responsibility, but I'm not sure if maintaining curfew would raise it? Could be something to look into. Empathy: asking others about their emotions and, I think, giving compliments can raise this. There is also the doctor toy for kids that helps with empathy. Conflict Resolution: not as sure on this but certain social interactions for sure. Same for Manners. Hope this helps!

I finally started the Not So Berry Challenge and I've been having a difficult time with Mint. I've never used Mischief before and trying to complete that aspiration has been super hard for me. She's already a full adult with the Rose gen as a teen now and I'm still not done with Mint's checklist.

If you were thinking of doing a new legacy series after this, I can highly recommend the Whimsy Stories Legacy Challenge! It's a lot of fun and I do love your let's plays - I expect you may take a break from long series before starting a new one though 😂

With Iris, you should do the super sims challenge, I feel like it would be a nice way to finish it off.
For emotional control, put down a yoga mat and practice yoga. The doctor toy helps with empathy. Clearing the table will boost manners. Doing homework and school projects takes care of responsibility. Conflict resolution is the one I find to be tricky, and you have to do thinks like reconcile after arguing, apologizing, or have the parent teach the child to say sorry.
