Today marks 1 year since I was at this railway and I gotta say it has come on a good bit since then with the Class 10 arriving (then leaving again, it'll be back soon) and the road being built (almost)
My mate and I designed and built it. A unique item with 4 wheel brake pad braking that come on at the same time and can be released on either side of the trolley. It's been named a recovery trolley in case of an emergency of someone who has collapsed or had a heart attack down line, it contains seating and lockable storage. Hopefully it will never be necessary to use it for its main intention.
I was born, brought up very close. My father and mother used the Helston line - mother for school - father for sending veg. Should never have closed. The volunteers have, and do work very hard. My parents have passed - i hope in my lifetime to ride on the train to Helston. Thank you for a nicely constructive, informative video.
Thanks for watching- honestly looking hack at this video my camerawork was very poor in places but I'm glad you enjoyed it. I hope to make a return to helston in the next 10 years to see how they have progressed from now
