My guesses for the Gen 3 sprites 2:15 Maybe Roselia? 2:37 Beta Rayquaza who was a white serpent according to a previous leak 2:51 Tengulist, that's definitely a Tengu 3:10 Early Corphish line? The colours match. 5:16 The one on the right is Beta Skitty, it has the same tail; the one on the left is maybe an early idea for the Whismur line. The big ears look a bit like speakers and their signature ability also exists under a different name in the game files 5:46 Shroomish but its personality took a 180° turn, colours are also similiar to Beta Breloom 7:26 Early idea for the Slakoth line, Slaking resembles a Gorilla more than a Sloth
I was thinking that might've been beta-Rayquaza, it definitely has more bird-like aspects than its final design, which fits with the theory that it's supposedly inspired by Ziz, some gigantic bird from hebrew mythology iirc.
2:15 is a cut spider lily pokemon, a bug/psychic type that mimics plants (the dex forge 3 leaked years ago, you can look it up, I can try and put a link later)

10:48 That shade of purple is often used to indicate transparency in spritesheets. So it was probably meant to go over a white or otherwise bright background.
Dr. Lava once wrote that Game Freak was going to reboot Pokemon completely in the third generation and based on the leaked concept art, Pokemon would have gone more edgier and darker direction, lookin more Monster Hunter -like style. However, the three-legged Cacturne monster and the Unown stone abomination is still interesting concepts.
2:36 - Huntail? Haunt tail, so a ghost fish thing. 2:52 - Shiftry and not too sure on the other one. 2:55 - Might be Torkoal. 3:06 - Might be Corphish. 3:10 - Blaziken and Latias. 3:23 - Either early Snorunt or a scraped Snorunt evo. 3:24 - Scrapped Manectric evo. 3:42 - Medicham? 3:48 - Volbeat. 4:09 - Lotad. 4:33 - Seedot. 4:34 - Masquerain. 4:43 - Sableye, looking through a magnifying glass (Thats why the eye is big there) 5:25 - Skitty. 5:44 - Looks like Smoochum could also be early Budew and the other one is Shroomish. 6:45 - Zangoose. 8:02 - Xatu? 8:14 - Roselia?
So much pain in the first 5 minutes: - "Ursaring before it became a brown bear." - That's Beartic - "Lombre" - That's DEFINITELY Lotad - "Is Masquerain gen 3? No, it's not." - Yes it is???
Also thinking it's a beta Ursaring design is extra funny because Ursaring is a Gen2 'mon Why would it have a beta design in the games _after_ its debut
I think at 3:01 The “vacuum mon” is actually Gulpin and Swalot because their dex entries talk about them being able to swallow huge objects like a tire in Swalots dex entry. And they kind of resemble them. But later on the video at around 8:00 we see a different mon that looks a lot more like Gulpin or Swalot.
5:32 It looks like Skitty. 7:05 Either Spinda, Alcremie or their love child? 8:32 Vulpix and Mienfoo, the color scheme looks like Mienfoo's. 8:32 Stunky/Vulpix hybrid? 12:19 Rock/Ground type Carracosta? 12:25 Baby Mew/Azurill? 13:38 Tornadus/Deoxys hybrid? 14:22 Mer-Sableye or Sableye from the Marsh?
This is the best kind of leak. Not spoilers, not speculation, just neat history bits that we wouldn't have known otherwise. Seeing the early design process is really cool. 2:50 The one on the left is probably Shiftry, the geta on the feet and the long nose scream 'plant tengu' 4:24 Looks like maybe proto-Shuppet. 5:20 Skitty probably, by the tail. 9:28 a box turtle! 9:47 Maybe proto-Baltoy 15:30 I really respect that. Thank you!
Thanks for showing these! Data breaches are scary stuff, and thank you for taking spoilers and personal data seriously. I feel like they should have released these sprites officially since they're now 15-20 years old and it'd be fun for anniversary stuff
I love the idea of Water starters not being an aquatic animal! The only time that's happened so far is Sobble. Grass starters aren't just plants. Fire starts aren't all animals commonly associated with fire. So it always seemed lopsided that almost all Water starters were aquatic animals.
4:48 I think that Sableye is holding a piece of glass of some sort that is magnifying its eye. You can kinda see from the other squinted eye that it has the same pupil.
5:23 I don't know the bunny neo pet thing, the other is Skitty the tail gives it away. 5:45 shroomis prior to being green and eyes change to angry. 8:02 looks like a hummingbird but also a book and the tail is a bookmark.the inner tube rabbit reminds me of Buizel and Flotzel. 2:33 Usaring is gen 2 is more beartic beta. 3:23 Snover then Abomasnow looks like were not part of the same evo line.
13:06 I like the implication that the beta Emboar line is getting darker as it evolves because the pork is getting cooked more and more. I imagine that the beta for Tepig would be more pink than orange.
I guess so with the tail feathers, but it obviously has a lot of duck mixed in there. I always interpreted it as more a anthropomorphic duck wearing the brazilian Carnival costume.
@@RealLifeIronMan It's exactly that, a Carnaval duck, if you think about it, it's like a convergent evolution with peacocks, both are different species, but have similar features that serve the same purpose haha
5:13 that red giant ear bunny pokemon looks like a remake of a gen 2 beta pokemon that was also a bunny pokemon with giant ears , it was in the gen 2 files also being a leak.
I actually really like the Water bunny starter. While I like Mudkip, this starter looks really cute and I'm curious what its evolved forms could have been. It's really interesting to see what some Pokemon looked like before their designs were finalized and which ones were scrapped. I am also pretty curious about the anime related leak information. I don't want to risk getting spoiled on future games, but the whole information on why Ash was replaced would be interesting to read.
Cool and much apreciated you're doing this, I mean many of the gen 3-4 leaks were already out such as that Blaziken Lati in the thumbnail a couple years ago, but more of it is always cool. Especially as I state in another comment it could mean we see these designs in the future. I like Flygon's colors... but I don't like bald Flygon lol, needs his Antenna.
Interesting how some beta design ended up still showing in the shiny versions of the final releases though! (can see Claydoll and Swallot main colors kept through for example)
12:39 I need friend shaped Simisear right now c'mon Legends Z-A make it happen. or at the very least put the elemental monkeys in the game they haven't been in a game since SM/USUM and haven't been catchable in the wild since XY
They apparently leaked that gen basis based around greece, with starting letters being version K and version N, so i did a lil greek mythology research to find that K could be kratos, greek god of war, or kydoimos greek god of confusion and uproar. Born in the midst of battle(as far as im aware). N could be Nemesis greek goddess of revenge and retribution. Just as a speculation of the box legends for gen 10.
11:10 that's rotom washing machine at least quite similar to the model we had growing up. So much better to load the laundry from the top than the side, not sure why they don't sell those anymore
You have to load them carefully or they'll get off balance and they may not spin the clothes out properly. And they're pretty deep, so good luck getting things out of them if you have mobility issues (or short arms) that might make it difficult to reach down in there.
7:17 Quaquaval... I love that the TeraLeak also included beta stories for the Sinnoh Library. Originally, they were gonna go way harder into the whole "the people and Pokémon used to be...Roommates..." lore, even explicitly using the term "Had Relations With." This was already canon, because of what's in the library in the games we DID get, but it's nice to see some confirmation that yes, they meant...THAT...when they used the word "Married" So now dumb people can finally shut up about how "unethical" it is to point out that Machamp and Obstagoon are Literally Just People and being More Than Friends with one is actually normal and expected. It's canon. It always was. Also this was the generation that introduced Loppunny so the fact it took people this long to realize that that was the whole point of that lore tidbit is a little bit concerning, like...are people just stupid?
Thank you so much for this video! I certainly don't want to see anything related to future projects outside of e.g. official trailers. Such beta-designs however are always interesting. I find it quite disgusting though, that personal data was leaked as well... 2:22 The Flygon line is based on antlions, not on dragonflies (which by the way have nothing to do with dragons besides their English name) 2:50 My guess would be someone in the Shifrty line, as it has the Tengu 👺 look 3:20 It's really interesting how this Blaziken/Latias/Latios fusion became three different Pokemon in the end 3:50 Looks like the ice-hippo might have turned into Snom somehow 5:25 I believe that might have turned into Skitty 7:45 I do remember Grumpig and I think the final design is prettier but maybe that uglier one would've been more memorable lol 8:10 Very good impression indeed haha 8:50 With most designs I'm happy that they were changed into what they are now, but the storm Castform really is pretty cool 11:05 Rotom Bidet probably would've been too powerful, so they scrapped it... what a fun design 12:20 Gen.5 seems to have had some cool stuff going on. Interesting dragon Pokemon 12:30 I'm glad they were able to make something nice out of that Hydreigon line beta design 12:40 I bet all three monkeys would've been liked more if they were... fat. Looks more likeable lol 12:55 Liepard looks pretty cool and I like the beta Basculin as well I wonder if some of the designs aren't compeltely scrapped and we see some of those in a future Generation as a new Pokemon or regional form. Thank you again for keeping the spoilers out! I can't wait for the next Nintendo Direct / Pokemon Presents for some official news!

2:37 Beta Rayquaza who was a white serpent according to a previous leak
2:51 Tengulist, that's definitely a Tengu
3:10 Early Corphish line? The colours match.
5:16 The one on the right is Beta Skitty, it has the same tail; the one on the left is maybe an early idea for the Whismur line. The big ears look a bit like speakers and their signature ability also exists under a different name in the game files
5:46 Shroomish but its personality took a 180° turn, colours are also similiar to Beta Breloom
7:26 Early idea for the Slakoth line, Slaking resembles a Gorilla more than a Sloth
I was thinking that might've been beta-Rayquaza, it definitely has more bird-like aspects than its final design, which fits with the theory that it's supposedly inspired by Ziz, some gigantic bird from hebrew mythology iirc.
2:37 Looks way more like an early version of Arceus to me with the white body and gold accents
2:15 is a cut spider lily pokemon, a bug/psychic type that mimics plants (the dex forge 3 leaked years ago, you can look it up, I can try and put a link later)
Tengulist?
@@rainbz The German name of Shiftry
I saw that Blaziken Latias was a Delibird evo
2:51 shiftry
3:44 manetric evo
4:23 baltoy
6:29 applin
11:11 i think it's still wash rotom just not using a western design
A lot of pokemon combined and separated into 2 pokemon
Sprite Timestamps
1:55 Could be the base for Scorbunny
3:52 Looks like Snom
5:25 Looks like Skitty
5:37 Could be the base for Vespiquen
5:44 Looks like they split that up into Breloom and Lilligant
5:56 Looks like they split that up into Brosly and Ferroseed
6:03 Looks like Litwick
6:29 Could be the base for Phantump
6:43 Could be the base for Bellibolt (I find this a strech myself)
6:45 The white/purple mon also looks very familiair, might be Zangoose idk.
6:46 Could be the base of Cosmog
7:23 Call me, crazy but I see a early Delphox here
7:27 Could be the base for Slaking (I find this a strech myself)
8:14 This is giving me a bit of Glimmora vibes
8:16 Could be the inspiration for the Stoutland and Maschiff line
8:39 Could be the base for Mienshao line
12:19 Might be the base for Chesnaught
is is checking off 0 of the boxes of Scorbunny other than "✅ is rabbit"
@@AustinJohnPlays Bro only read the first timestamp lol
Some other sprites looked very familiar but I couldn't place them.
Feel free to add or correct me on this list.
Had a lot fun compiling it!
Before this becomes a thing.
My first comment was: "Let me introduce you to Scorbunny"
After that I edited my comment and made this list.
Austin's replay was to my initial comment.
I believe 7:23 is a mantis shrimp
10:48 That shade of purple is often used to indicate transparency in spritesheets. So it was probably meant to go over a white or otherwise bright background.
Dr. Lava once wrote that Game Freak was going to reboot Pokemon completely in the third generation and based on the leaked concept art, Pokemon would have gone more edgier and darker direction, lookin more Monster Hunter -like style. However, the three-legged Cacturne monster and the Unown stone abomination is still interesting concepts.
@@danielmalinen6337 im here for it
2:36 - Huntail? Haunt tail, so a ghost fish thing.
2:52 - Shiftry and not too sure on the other one.
2:55 - Might be Torkoal.
3:06 - Might be Corphish.
3:10 - Blaziken and Latias.
3:23 - Either early Snorunt or a scraped Snorunt evo.
3:24 - Scrapped Manectric evo.
3:42 - Medicham?
3:48 - Volbeat.
4:09 - Lotad.
4:33 - Seedot.
4:34 - Masquerain.
4:43 - Sableye, looking through a magnifying glass (Thats why the eye is big there)
5:25 - Skitty.
5:44 - Looks like Smoochum could also be early Budew and the other one is Shroomish.
6:45 - Zangoose.
8:02 - Xatu?
8:14 - Roselia?
4:40 Masquerain is Gen 3, no idea why you think it's not
Came to say this^ thank you 😂
Think he confused it for Mothim
He gets A LOT of stuff wrong here
14:08 That Karrablast Evo would legit be one of my favorite pokemon. Even tho it aint real i would still kill over this thing
13:50 with the betas it is easiler to see the Swords of Justice where originally based more on goats, sheep, and antelope.
@12:19 looks like beta druddigon.. also kinda a bit shelly like the komo-o line
So much pain in the first 5 minutes:
- "Ursaring before it became a brown bear." - That's Beartic
- "Lombre" - That's DEFINITELY Lotad
- "Is Masquerain gen 3? No, it's not." - Yes it is???
Also thinking it's a beta Ursaring design is extra funny because Ursaring is a Gen2 'mon
Why would it have a beta design in the games _after_ its debut
Oh my god how embarassing
@@WhimsicottFanaticI was thinking that too 😂
That’ll be $6.99 a month to join the channel 😎
I think at 3:01 The “vacuum mon” is actually Gulpin and Swalot because their dex entries talk about them being able to swallow huge objects like a tire in Swalots dex entry. And they kind of resemble them. But later on the video at around 8:00 we see a different mon that looks a lot more like Gulpin or Swalot.
To answer the question at 7:45 Yes I do remember Grumpig. I have a shiny I nicknamed Mind Bacon, and he's the best!
1:43 Nowadays, they would have just kept that mudkip design.
5:28 the one on the right is beta Skitty, look at the tail!
I think I like it more than regular skitty
5:22 skitty on the right, lefty over there might just be scrap
The bear looks more like an early Beartic, ursaring was gen 2. Unless they were going to give ursaring an evolution
Maybe they were already thinking of regional variants that early on (jk)
5:32 It looks like Skitty.
7:05 Either Spinda, Alcremie or their love child?
8:32 Vulpix and Mienfoo, the color scheme looks like Mienfoo's.
8:32 Stunky/Vulpix hybrid?
12:19 Rock/Ground type Carracosta?
12:25 Baby Mew/Azurill?
13:38 Tornadus/Deoxys hybrid?
14:22 Mer-Sableye or Sableye from the Marsh?
Agreed on 12:19. Definitley the ancient turtle boy.
5:25 my guess is Skitty based on the ears and pincushion tail.
16:00 skitty
The scrapped content is really interesting ... Althout I bet someone on Reddit or 4chan will use that personal data for something really bad :/
This is the best kind of leak. Not spoilers, not speculation, just neat history bits that we wouldn't have known otherwise. Seeing the early design process is really cool.
2:50 The one on the left is probably Shiftry, the geta on the feet and the long nose scream 'plant tengu'
4:24 Looks like maybe proto-Shuppet.
5:20 Skitty probably, by the tail.
9:28 a box turtle!
9:47 Maybe proto-Baltoy
15:30 I really respect that. Thank you!
I’m so happy my favorite Pokémon line wasn’t a rabbit in a tube
Could 8:16 be an early Zangoose? The colour scheme fits
5:19 The one on the right looks like Skitty
IT IS SKITTY 100%
I was going to say the same thing
Thanks for showing these! Data breaches are scary stuff, and thank you for taking spoilers and personal data seriously. I feel like they should have released these sprites officially since they're now 15-20 years old and it'd be fun for anniversary stuff
Water-bunny hate is a real problem! stop Water-bunny hate today! Only you can stop water-bunny hate!
If innertube bunny has no fans, that means I'm dead. I love you innertube bunny!
Waterb-bunny hate? Most people love the water-bunny. so much in fact that they tekken cliffed Mudkip. Stop the mudkip hate.
Is this comment using the popular poetic technique of anaphora to solidify its message?
Water bunny looks so adorable !!
I love the idea of Water starters not being an aquatic animal! The only time that's happened so far is Sobble.
Grass starters aren't just plants. Fire starts aren't all animals commonly associated with fire. So it always seemed lopsided that almost all Water starters were aquatic animals.
2:28 but Ursaring was gen 2...
Thank you!!!
5:13 Chipmunk has the Skitty tail. Maybe Skitty? Maybe the pink peach squirl is Plusle and Minun's betas?
Yes, I'm totally thinking that led to Skitty
it doesn't even look like a chipmunk, that's clearly still a cat
@@ethanjohnson1231 pecharunt normal fairy type??? And maybe pachirisu's evo?
3:09 that is the origin of Combusken and Latías, there is some older fan art of it out there too!
4:48 I think that Sableye is holding a piece of glass of some sort that is magnifying its eye. You can kinda see from the other squinted eye that it has the same pupil.
5:25 I like that rabbit that looks like it disguises itself as a Pecha Berry
8:04 is that a bookworm/hummingbird Pokémon???? Can we bring that back please? It’d be on my team so fast.
9:24 Seems like a parent design of Crustle and Torkoal
7:17 gen 9 duck quaxly final evo is peacock
I guess so with the tail feathers, but it obviously has a lot of duck mixed in there. I always interpreted it as more a anthropomorphic duck wearing the brazilian Carnival costume.
It probably inspired a lot of mons, since i can also see Espathra.
@@RealLifeIronMan It's exactly that, a Carnaval duck, if you think about it, it's like a convergent evolution with peacocks, both are different species, but have similar features that serve the same purpose haha
Ho-oh has some peacock qualities too
@@RealLifeIronMan I can't see anything when I look at Quaquaval except Pavé the peacock from Animal Crossing.
Appreciate you gathering it all here for us Austin John. haven't bothered looking anything up due to the ease of fake stuff right now
11:40 “Remains mostly unchanged”
La Mustache: AM I A JOKE TO YOU!?!?
8:07 my dog started barking the minute he heard your chicken squeak
5:31 pretty sure that it’s Skitty by the tail
8:38 the kungfu weasels I forget their names
Thanks for this vid, I've been wanting to look at the beta content without getting spoiled on future content
5:31 THAT'S SO OBVIOUSLY SKITTY!
5:45 Shroomish maybe
7:21 we got a peacock Pokémon with Quaquaval.
So many people forget or not notice Quaquaval is a peacock and a duck and not just a duck.
7:55 Swalot looks like Burt the Bashful from Yoshi's Island
the trix rabbit went from stealing trix to becoming a water type Pokemon 💀😳
5:50 WHAT DID THEY DO TO JIRACHI?!
That's shroomish
Interesting how some beta design ended up still showing in the shiny versions of the final releases though!
(can see Claydoll and Swallot main colors kept through for example)
12:39 I need friend shaped Simisear right now c'mon Legends Z-A make it happen.
or at the very least put the elemental monkeys in the game they haven't been in a game since SM/USUM and haven't been catchable in the wild since XY
@@CyberWolf04 that Simisear shouldve been the one. All the others are dook dook.
5:19 looks like early ideas for spinda and skitty, with spinda trying to have more to do with the pokeblock machine concept
As adorable as the Castfrom we got is, we were ROBBED.
4:04 I think that wound up being the Alcremie line.
I think 6:03 is Tympole. The whole line is based on frogs and producing sound. That design is a tadpole mixed with a record player.
11:10 that's rotom washing machine at least quite similar to the model we had growing up. So much better to load the laundry from the top than the side, not sure why they don't sell those anymore
We still use these models in Brazil
They are less water efficient, harder to clean, and really hard to reach the stuff on the bottom, in my experience.
You have to load them carefully or they'll get off balance and they may not spin the clothes out properly. And they're pretty deep, so good luck getting things out of them if you have mobility issues (or short arms) that might make it difficult to reach down in there.
11:05 Bidet Rotom was top tier design!
Finally an Austin John video I can watch without worrying about spoilers!
7:17 Quaquaval...
I love that the TeraLeak also included beta stories for the Sinnoh Library. Originally, they were gonna go way harder into the whole "the people and Pokémon used to be...Roommates..." lore, even explicitly using the term "Had Relations With."
This was already canon, because of what's in the library in the games we DID get, but it's nice to see some confirmation that yes, they meant...THAT...when they used the word "Married"
So now dumb people can finally shut up about how "unethical" it is to point out that Machamp and Obstagoon are Literally Just People and being More Than Friends with one is actually normal and expected. It's canon. It always was. Also this was the generation that introduced Loppunny so the fact it took people this long to realize that that was the whole point of that lore tidbit is a little bit concerning, like...are people just stupid?
Yep my thoughts at first xD Donald Duck ended up becoming a peacock
Hoping they don’t take this video down
2:16 Roselia 2:52 Shiftry 3:01 Varoom and Revavroom 3:23 Snover 3:42 Abomasnow 3:48 Volbeat/Illumise 3:51 Snom 3:53 Milcery/Fidough 4:03 Alcremie 4:34 Nincada/Ninjask 5:29 skitty 5:47 Shroomish 6:30 Phantump 7:24 Trevenant 8:20 Mabosstiff
Thank you so much for this video! I certainly don't want to see anything related to future projects outside of e.g. official trailers.
Such beta-designs however are always interesting. I find it quite disgusting though, that personal data was leaked as well...
2:22 The Flygon line is based on antlions, not on dragonflies (which by the way have nothing to do with dragons besides their English name)
2:50 My guess would be someone in the Shifrty line, as it has the Tengu 👺 look
3:20 It's really interesting how this Blaziken/Latias/Latios fusion became three different Pokemon in the end
3:50 Looks like the ice-hippo might have turned into Snom somehow
5:25 I believe that might have turned into Skitty
7:45 I do remember Grumpig and I think the final design is prettier but maybe that uglier one would've been more memorable lol
8:10 Very good impression indeed haha
8:50 With most designs I'm happy that they were changed into what they are now, but the storm Castform really is pretty cool
11:05 Rotom Bidet probably would've been too powerful, so they scrapped it... what a fun design
12:20 Gen.5 seems to have had some cool stuff going on. Interesting dragon Pokemon
12:30 I'm glad they were able to make something nice out of that Hydreigon line beta design
12:40 I bet all three monkeys would've been liked more if they were... fat. Looks more likeable lol
12:55 Liepard looks pretty cool and I like the beta Basculin as well
I wonder if some of the designs aren't compeltely scrapped and we see some of those in a future Generation as a new Pokemon or regional form.
Thank you again for keeping the spoilers out! I can't wait for the next Nintendo Direct / Pokemon Presents for some official news!
3:02 Looks like an early version of Bellibolt to me
3:04 looks like an early Klawf
3:51 looks like Snom
5:17 The tail and ears make it clear that thats an early Skitty
5:52 reminds me of Inkay in a weird way
8:31 Early Nickit?
9:13 Early Togedemaru?
05:30 That is ABSOLUTELY a beta Skitty, just look at the tail.
4:07 This definitely became milcery and allcremie, it's crazy to see modern pokemon worked out of such early beta designs!
That is the squeaky chicken😂
7:18 Quaquaval: "Am I a joke to you?"
5:23 The tail looks like Skitty's
7:20 "We've never had a peacock pokemon" Quaquaval is a peacock/duck. Its tail is the peacock part.
8:32 tail looks like mienshao s arms
You did that rubber chicken sound effect too well. I am disturbed lol
9:26 a box turtle. comedy.
I think Absol design is pretty damn cool
11:00 skibidi rotom
11:55 gallede looks sick with actual fingers and hands
