- This will be the first video in a series that shows how to string a racket on a Gamma X-2 drop weight stringing machine. I plan to include other videos In the new few weeks that shows everything you need to know to string a racket and save money. If there are any specific videos or topics you would like me to include, please leave a comment and I will address them.
All awls should be used from the outside of the frame inward and not vice a versa. I the string is coming out of the frame use a pathfinder awl. If the string is going into the frame use a stringer's awl. It does help if the awl points are dull and not sharp.
Merci beaucoup Mr. J'ai appris beaucoup avec vos anciennes vidéos....et ça fait plaisir de vous revoir ici 👏
Merci bien
great to see you back with videos...I have the same machine and just strung up a racket 2 piece and would love to see videos on best technique start to finish and starting the cross and double pulling the first two crosses to secure the starting knot and if that is the best way. Or to use a starting clamp even for crosses and tie at the end.
Thanks for the comment. I’m going to get to the crosses and how I’d start them but it’s going to be a while. But I promise, the good Lord willing and the creek don’t rise, I will get there. Please be patient I have a lot of issues I want to work around first.
Would love to see a video on how to string each string tension consistently and what adjustments to make to string near fixed clamp level consistency. I have the same X2 and am contemplating on moving up to a 6-point fixed clamp DW machine, but this video give me pause on that.
If all goes as planned my next video will be determining the pattern, skipped holes, tension, tie off locations, and mounting a racket. The very next video will be starting the mains. I’ve seem so many bad methods it’s starting to annoy me. I don’t even like the method they use in the owners manual. Thanks again for watching my video.
Your videos got me stringing on my own, some time ago. Nice to see you again. 🙂
I’m glad my videos were helpful. Thanks for watching
Glad to see you again! Have watched your videos on the electric machine but I have this exact machine. I would like to see video on your best method on two piece stringing from start to finish. I can use some tips from an expert to gain some speed & technique! Thanks! Jim
Thank you for your comment. My next videos are going to be more focused on 1 pine ATW stringing. Then I plan to make a video using 2 piece stringing. It should not be long until I get to 2 piece stringing. As far as speed is concerned I’m not big on stringing fast, but I don’t want to spend a lot of time stringing either. I plan to should several weaving methods. I think weaving is where many people spend a lot of time stringing. Practice improves your time more than anything.
Wow, been a long time since I saw a new video from you. Not sure why you sound nervous when you're the man when it comes to stringing!
I guess I should create a script to use, but I just talk from the hip I guess. Or maybe it the fact that I getting old. LOL Thanks again for watching.
i still like the klippermate one as it’s less bulky and packs away easily
Thanks for watching. I appreciate you letting me know what machine you have. Drop weight machines IMO are very good machine and I doubt there is any differences in the final string job.
I have the Gamma progression 200 and its very similar to the X2. However, it didn't come with the starting clamp. Are you sure the X2 has this?
@@twinwankel thanks for the comment. To tell you the truth I got my X-2 a few years back and I don’t think it comes with a starting clamp, but not positive. That why I mentioned in the video how to use a flying clamp to hold the first mains instead of a starting clamp.i know both machines comes with 2 flying clamps.
