- Haas stays in NASCAR! While Stewart-Haas Racing will not return in 2025 there will be a Haas team in both the NASCAR Cup Series and the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Jordan Bianchi broke the news that Gene Haas will have a single car Cup team and keep the Xfinity team as is while the rest of the details are TBA. So today we are going to look into it and see what options this team may have.

How do you think Haas will perform in 2025?
The definition of mid
Good
avg team finish 28.9
Back of the pack
About 25th
Conspiracy theory: Haas intended to drive out Stewart with his dumb decisions to have sole ownership of the team. Now that that's done, the future is very uncertain, especially seeing how Hamlin, Marks, Keslowski, and other teams are vying for that one open spot to take from Haas and boost their numbers
Not a far fetched statement i gotta admit
I’m happy because most of the employees I knew as an intern get to keep their jobs
Mr. Jack, do you feel that Haas wants to stay in NASCAR to be competitive, rebuild to where they can win races again? Or is this just to have a car on track to be a rolling billboard for Haas Automation and Haas Tooling? Me, I think it's the second, unless they revive the Hendrick connection and this becomes the team that Junior wants to invest into. Very interested to know your thoughts.
@@billnewberry6295 definitely the second
He was NEVER at the shop
Haas is going back to his 2003 to 08 days of being a back of the pack team
SHR is already in the back of the pack
@@SilverThunder710You’re not wrong lol
I think all that matters for Haas at the moment is staying as a highly competitive Xfinity team like they are rn. Then use that to build up their cup program
@@LessGo7921 Xfinity will be good, But cup will be pure Dog💩
@@BraydenBunch58ya he is , HAAS couldn’t even get top 20s before Tony . And even now SHR is better than HAAS will be .
WE ARE SO BACK to the 66 and 70 car days 😤😤🔥🔥

This makes me think Stewart was the main problem.
Tony Stewart is the one who was always flirting with leaving Nascar, and his attention was on projects outside of Nascar. Stewart Haas could have survived if they simply reduced down to 2 teams, and sold the other 2 charters. Running a 4 car team is extremely difficult, especially when one of the owners loses interest in managing things on a day to day basis.
Stewart only cares about #1. Himself, making money.
Tony went to different projects because he honestly probably didn't think it wad worth his time look at the team since he left Harvick was the sole life line for that team and now he's gone why would Stewart stick around
@@RC.41 Gene enters the chat. Both are bad and rather not put money into the team. Gene has a history doing this to his team in other series and only wants to reap the rewards.
@@SPARTAN-mb6gx Lol, If one employee leaving is enough to make you quit being an owner of a business, you aren't much of a businessman after all.
It's his responsibility to make sure his business is running well.
They'll be a backmarker for sure. They were before Tony, they sure as hell will be without him
When all the cars come from the same NASCAR parts? I don’t think so
They are with tony
I think staying at ford makes the most sense because ford really needs haas in Xfinity
Talk about Coming Full Circle
Herbst is not a top driver. In 157 Xfinity starts he has just 1 win and 2 poles. There are a dozen better drivers out there and Custer is 10X better. Custer has 158 starts, just one more than Herbst, but he has 13 wins and 20 poles. If Herbst gets a ride, it is because someone wrote a HUGE check.
Xfinity is different from cup!
I guess you could say they wrote a MONSTER check.
There's a reason why Riley Herbst is likely to go to 23XI Racing if he were to go to the Cup Series in 2025. And that's his past racing experience with JGR. In fact, I'm almost expecting either Tyler Reddick or Ty Gibbs to have Monster Energy dropped as their sponsor in favor of having Riley Herbst be sponsored by Monster Energy.
@@HotmanGaming Unless all three have Monster sponsoring.
Huh, a Monster Energy Racing Family...
Prediction: They stay with Ferd. So Ford still has a decent Xfinity outfit and doesn't have to piss a bunch of money away building an Xfinity only team up or getting Penske/Roush back into the series.
Driver: Custer. He's not going to be very good but daddy's money will prevail there.
I would like to see them use the 00 in cup for mid 00's nostalgia reasons.
Iceberg in background: 'Haas will have a single car team in 2025'
Boomer father in foreground pulls off calendar to reveal February 2002 instead of January 1984
From SHR to HFT??? This is something different
I feel like it'll be a one year thing in cup for haas tbh
Next year (if there's a new charter agreement) that charter will be worth at least double what it is now because it will likely be the only one available
This is interesting
3:25 ain’t no way he just said that, keep this video away from Eric, or else.
I’d be shocked if Custer isn’t in that car.
For the new Haas i see more of the same. An absentee owner skimming the cream from the team. Sure it's going to be Custer, he's still willing to work for a allowance.
Not bringing back the Haas CNC Racing name is a big missed opportunity.
Yep
I like the fit of Josh Berry + Rodney Childers for the single Haas car for 2025
Hell no , let them go to a team that will be able to win , HAAS before Tony was a Backmarker team, not much better that the start and parks .
I don't think that's a good idea given that's gonna be a 1 car team. Maybe if you partner up with another 1 car team or get another charter. If you want to contend for wins and championships you need a teammate. Martin Truex is the only Driver recently who has been able to pull that off.
@@kharnthebetrayer1575 I understand the history, but I need to see at least one year of this team in the next gen era , putting all their effort into one charter before I agree. I also think that a driver like Josh Berry and someone as talented as Rodney Childers will elevate a semi-lackluster car if he is retained for next season.
@@charlesallen8368 I agree that winning with one car is hard, but I can see an alliance Between Haas and Front Row Motorsports. I also think winning the Championship in year one is unrealistic as well.
Same here!
Custer in the 10 in cup. Retire the 4/14/41. Herbst stays in the 98 and Preece goes to the 00 in XFinity.
Hass should team up with another team that has a lot of experience for example the wood brothers the oldest team in NASCAR that would be awesome in my opinion
If HAAS goes with ford I think in xfinity if there is an open slot I think we could see a RSS driver like Ryan Sieg or Matt DiBenedetto.
man I really feel the need to buy a Haas CNC machine since he joined F1.....
I really don't think Gene Haas is cup team owner material, he's very hands off even with SHR, pretty clear that when Stewart stopped caring the performance of the team plummeted, it'll be cool for the car to exist on the track in 2025 but that's just about all I expect it to do next year.
Joe Custer will be running the team.
HAAS isn't going to be a development team - Deegan and Custer would be my call - give her 6 races and make a call to sign someone else. So far the 15 hasn't shown any speed - is it all her? Test her on track with a known constant like a Custer swapping seats.
Hiring Josh Berry and Rodney Childers for his Cup team would be a good start.
Nope. It looks like Josh Berry is getting ready to leave the team and Rodney Chiders can say he will retire since he already has a championship.
Totally agree about Herbst. Started off hating that kid. Seems he's maybe been a bit humbled as well as improved. Haily D.E.I.gan needs to go back to ARCA
Hailee Deegan ain't that good, she's about as good as that niece of a member of the Grateful Dead who raced in ARCA.
Another contender for worst chartered ride in 2025
From all the radio traffic I have listened to of Hallie Degan there seems to be a lack of effective race communication during the race to me it sounds like the crew is guessing most of the time on problem and Hallie explanation of the problem something is lost in translation either accidentally or just in one ear and out the other her debut Xfinity race last year she finished 13 th or her off track activities maybe causing her distraction
Long time SHR fan. Its definitely gonna be different only having 1 cup driver to pull for and knowing theyll probably not be very competitive but hey dont have to search for a new team now.
I knew something like this was gonna happen. I thought maybe if FRM does move into the shop, Gene and Joe might stick around to run some of the business aspects as the team expands, but I didn't rule this one car thing out either. My guess is Tony and Gene each had "control" of two charters, and Tony just wanted to cash out entirely, and my guess is Gene saw how high charter prices were as well and wanted to sell one, but Joe wants them to keep at least one for Cole Custer to race with in the future, so that all makes sense.
I wanted them to stay not because they are my favorite team, but because they are the 2nd fastest team outside of jgr. Riley herbst is consistent, and cole custer is always up front, they are a top team in xfinity, so idk what they were thinking about shutting down
“I thought you were dead.”
*”My death was greatly exaggerated.”*
Captions had me wondering who Jean hos is lol
I dont think it matters too much as long as Tony Stewart is gone. Tony brought the NASCAR prowess to that team. Should dump it also
Custer will be in that cup car and they will run Kaulig like. I would like to see them mix it up with the Xfinity drivers, but feel it'll be Herbst and some other pay driver.
Would they entertain Toyota? Adding LMC has been such a failure I don't know they would.
Saw this coming since last week for some reason
Good to hear that MAYBE one or two of the drivers at SHR in cup will have a seat still, assuming they stay in cup at all, but regardless, I could see Gene Haas keeping someone for their Xfinity roster, Cole Custer is probably a given
They could be the next furniture row! I doubt he's staying in the sport and spending the money to just be mediocre!
Imagine briscoe and Childers in the one Haas car👀
Nah he will reunite with Roush at RFK.
Happy for those who get to keep their jobs, but at best, I'd say that this team will be similar to what we see currently: Mid pack with flashes of impressive moments/finishes, but this is only if they can keep or bring in a good driver (I'd say most likely candidate is Cole Custer). Problem is the money side of things, especially if Gene Haas is going to have to slap his name on the car every week, and I don't know if he's willing to put out the big dollars for a driver who is currently being looked at by other teams (4-5 of the 6 drivers left with SHR are pretty much on everyone's wish list in the Cup Series)... However, given that it will just be one car instead of 4 now, I may be surprised. Hope things work out for everyone involved next season.
Deegan is hardly average, at best
If he's smart he'll keep Noah or Chase. I think Noah has the best long term potential
Glad haas is staying in nascar and bringing back just haas racing
Refuse to like a video that seriously mentions Haley Deegan possibly going to the cup series
I did not here that. Pretty sure he said Hailie Deegan would be lucky to get Haas Xfinity ride if Cole moved to cup
They should bring berry and Rodney back for their one remaining cup car and have preece and Harrison Burton take over there two xfinity cars. And Custer goes to front row in there new cup car.
So one charter will be kept by Haas. Two other SHR charters is up for sale as one was already taken by Front Row.
Had us in the first half ngl
I really hope that keselowski gets the number 14
Why would Brad K get the #14?, They’d probably wanna get the #16 more. (If kaulig shuts down, or gives up the number for the #10)
@@BraydenBunch58yeah possibly but it wouldn't surprise me if Keselowski brings back the 26 or the 06.
ARIC ALMIROLA COMEBACK INCOMING 💀💀💀💀
I'm happy but I don't think anyone wanted to buy that last charter, and with the France family lurking in speculation, they just kept it, see if the investment rises again.
Cole Custer is the youngest winner in nascar history
Not the youngest in Cup though.
@@vinceedwards575 🥱
As a Preece fan I really want to see Preece is a Solid xfinity team and just get a nice base down then try and get into a great cup team.
Maybe but he worked so hard to come back to the Cup series.
I could see Haas switching to Toyota or Chevy if he plans to switch to Honda( or a different manufacturer when they come in). On the driver side I assume this will be either Custer because of his dad or Herbst because of Monster money. On Herbst I don't see him as another Johnson but I also don't think he'll be any worse than Bubba Wallace is in cup.
well chase briscoe happened
It’ll be Overstock as the sponsor
Nope it’s going to HAAS CnC just like now and before Tony .
I always expected this outcome. It was Tony that wanted a change of pace
That sounds like a terrible financial decision unless it is being done simply for a tax write-off.
Cool. Cole will race Cup.
Haas NASCAR with new version of the team might struggle like they have peaks of success but I can see it fall the tail end like their F1 team. Custer makes sense in cup, not sure whether ford stays in or what alliance like RFK or Penske to piggy back. Xfinity unless herbst goes to cup, that’s tbd on two seats perhaps given ford needs to keep more cars probably that’s like there to stay. I give haas credit yea F1 team is a meh box and perhaps this nascar team might struggle he cares in terms of investment. Gene needs to be hands on somewhat and learn what did not work with old SHR.
Saw that one coming.
My friend actually predicted this earlier today on his prediction video
BoTS, bOtS, BOtS, boTs, bOts. 5 of them.
I'm not liking this, simply because recent years have soured my opinion of Gene Haas (plus, I didn't really agree with the move to sign Ryan Preece over Cole Custer [I will admit, rose-tinted glasses over *that* Kentucky finish] when Smoke wanted Custer).
It would be the 4 charter, not the 41. Maybe rebranded to a different number, but the 4 charter is the original 0/00 Haas charter
oh come ON
As an F1 fan NASCAR can take Haas from F1
It’s good for at least some of the employees, but unless somebody else joins the team to run it.Hass will not be competitive. Hint Jr. and Kelly. Might be an opportunity to get into Cup and run it your way.
Earnhardt-Haas Racing?
Iceberg im a massive hailie deegan fan but i agree with you. She needs to improve and improve NOW before she becomes a perminant midpack driver. I dont think a new team can do the job. Hailie NEEDS to get better.
she's not even a mid pack driver. Nice girl yes. nascar driver no.
I know she's a good driver AM Racing isn't a top tier team plus if you look they were supposed to be a two car team and well for some reason they couldn't make it happen and I think it's because they don't have enough funding. I want to see her race for a actual top tier team like what she had in the K&N West that team was really good and she was able to win three races and most of her finishes was top 5, then she drove for DGR which isn't a good team now they are doing better because they went from ford to Toyota, Thorsport who had success with Toyota switched to ford and well haven't shown the same speed that they had before. This is her first season in Xfinity her rookie season. Remember where Ross Chastain came from JD Motorsports I believe and he got the opportunity to drive in the 42 car that was really good in Xfinity and showed speed and even won. I think if she can drive for any team that's better than AM Racing even if she has to change manufacturers i think it will help her
Hailie brings her fathers last name
Is this a potential partnership for Jr Motor Sports? Sell the buildings and move it to JRM with Josh B and co.
One car teams aren’t serious.
Surprising but he won't pay any attention to it. The F1 team is his baby
I really hope they use the 00 or 0 number to make it at least unique. Please not the lame ass number 41!
41 should go to Legacy as a part time entry.
I like the decision. Haas needs to be in NASCAR with Ford.
Chevy
Don't bring Deegan to Haas. She suffers from what's called skill issue. Cole Custer and Riley Herbst staying in the team are the best Xfinity choices imo.
No disrespect to Tony Stewart but I'm very happy to hear that he's doing that
And will be worse than SHR now ….. HAAS before Tony wasn’t even a midfield team .
I’d take Deegan over Custer in the Cup ride
To bad this is happening now, because this would be a perfect opportunity for Honda.
So it seems like Tony Stewart is just sick of nascar
Lmao Hailey deegan..... are you Fing serious????
Hass will stay with Ford, Front Row moves into the building, and the Hass car is maintained by Front Row similar to the Wood Bros/Penske deal.
Berry to the 34
Preece in the 36
Gilliland in the 38
Custer in the 41
At best all four cars run around 15th-10th. One maybe two cars squeek into the playoffs and get bumped first round.
This tells us that it was Tony Stewart who didn’t want to continue not Gene Haas
Looks like it was Tony who wanted out of nascar
He wanted Kyle Larson, Didn’t get Kyle Larson. So of course it was Tony!
@@BraydenBunch58 I mean yeah ain’t gotta be a genius to figure that out
It will still be a sub par company like it was before.
Hass should have kept two charters and be a two car Cup team. With that said, he should switch to Chevy and see if Dale Jr. would like to have a stake in the team. If so, then let Kelley Earnhardt and Dale Jr. run the team; rebrand it Jr. Motorsports if you need to.
Dale Jr. is probably never gonna own a cup team unfortunately.
(Yes, I also mean half-owning a team aswell)
Interesting
glad hass is staying
Degen should be back racing go karts and playing with her phone, she is just as bad as the last one.
100% it’s berry or nothing
Another back marker 🥴
drop TS and start over eazy
Bring back Jeff Green or Mike Bliss
Or bring in Austin Green. 😅
Mike bliss to the zero in '25 !!
Gragson and Johnny Morris stay.
The Ford deal is where SHR fell apart. Why would Haas stick with Ford? Obviously they don’t want him.
Hailey Deegan??? HAILEY DEEGAN??? 😂😅😂😅😂😅😂😅😂😅😂😅😂😅😂😅😂 I am pretty sure that Haas is NOT LOOKING for DNF's or Finishing 2 Laps Down???
Hailey Deegan!!! PRICELESS!!!
Very interesting news. Custer makes the most sense but like you said, sponsor issues. Berry would be good but again with sponsorship. Like you mentioned, maybe some of the new sponsors stay? Overstock seems to really like the sport. Mobil 1, Code 3, Rush Truck Centers, Morton Buildings and Andy’s Custards have been with SHR for quite some time. Riley is not ready yet and should stay in Xfinity and keep getting better. Deegan for sure no, that can’t work at the cup level. If they want her to rid the second car in Xfinity okay but I would stop there.
