The usefulness of Ancestor worship ---
Once during the busy wedding season, Sastry was in charge of organising nearly ten weddings at the same auspicious time. Then he asked Satyam to officiate in one of them. He advised him 'to do just the basics'. After sending Satyam to the wedding, Sastry began to feel a bit uneasy, so he decided to go, to observe Satyam's work. Satyam was reciting some mantras loudly and Sastry was shocked to hear them. He called Satyam aside and asked him,' What do you think you are doing ?""I am reciting Garuda Purana ' replied Satyam ."Do you know when and where it is recited ?""Yes during the funeral rites. '"Then why are you reciting Garuda Purana here at the wedding ?"Satyam replied the couple here has a curse from the "Pitris". The 'Pitris' are sitting angrily in front of the couple. Why Spirit of the Dead Person Needs Offering of Food And Water.

According to Garuda Purana - Like the human fetus in the womb of the mother needs nourishment for its proper growth so, in the same way, the Spirit of the recently dead person will only take complete shape if only its living family members offer nourishment in the form of food and water. Initially, it takes on the form of a Pinda (A Ball), when the family member provides him with a rice ball made from cooked rice, from then onward each day when this Rice Ball is offered then from Head to Toe the whole Astral/Subtle Body is formed. When this entire body comes into existence on Astral Plane then only, when further rice balls, when offered then the Spirit begins to eat ( since they have a body made of three subtle elements ie. fire, air and the akasha - space, so these Spirits only take in the essence of the offered through the sense of smell)
In literature and the movies, the Spirits are shown with deformed bodies/incomplete bodies/ dark- shadow bodies and with scary faces, that is because these beings never received any nourishment from their living family members.
The same thing we also see during the Halloween festival when children dress up in scary costumes, this thing is particularly indicative of how the dead spirits are living or existing on other planes without any happiness.
In Tibet, they have a very Tantric method of feeding the Spirits of the Dead - called Sky Burial. In this Crushed body parts are mixed with BARLEY flour and then given the shape of a ball and these balls are offered to vultures who hover around. It is believed that the spirit of the dead person/ancestors takes on the form of the vulture to partake the offering.
In India, the worship of the Ancestors takes place only after the Summer Solstice - when the Sun moves towards the South. According to the scriptures, the Abode of Lord Yama (Lord of Death) is in the direction of the South. Where his palace is on the Astral Plane

If i may make a request, could you plz not include these disturbing sound effects in the midst of guruji's speech... if you listen to it carefully, the sudden booms n bangs are like a rough bump in the smooth vibrations of gurujis voice and msg. The sound effects distract in a very negative way

Where I only knew good karma rewards good things and after death too it leads to good realm. Would like to know whether karma is related till we are alive and not after death.?

Very insightful to listen to this sharing. Someone I know did visit the cave which is projected to the outside world as that of Maha Avtar Babaji but did not feel any vibration there. My question both out of curiosity and out of a deep interest in his intention in visiting the cave is -. Is that cave which is popularly known as the cave of Maha Avtar Babaji really the same as the one you are talking about or is the cave you are taking about where you are mentioning the blue flame in some other part of the Himalayas hidden intentionally from humanity. It is absolutely ok if both caves are different and I do not want to know where it is cos if it is destined , the concerned person will be guided there but... just wanted to know the truth, that's all. Sir, usually the deceased ancestors photos are kept and worshiped at homes. Whether it is correct or not , some say they shouldn't be kept , it may trouble us ?

About shaving head, if mundan was not done as a small child by the parents and now an adult female, should it be done? If yes, the best months, days time it should be done.

Dear madam, it is a good podcast. I had one question: if someone is adopted or an illegitimate child, who are their pitrus? Their blood ancestors or their adopted family ancestors or both?
Their genetic ancestors is most important secondly since the family name is carried forward and also the upbringing becomes part of the character behavior attitudes then it is both

not the same person there is so much mental stress. my husband didn’t took me to india, He managed to go 4 days before and spend time before my FIL left his body . I feel something not right even though we are in australia .
