    Thank you for making this video, I'm definitely making my own brackets instead.

      No problem man just trying to save everyone else the headache of figuring it out after paying for them.

    I have the exact same issue, but in an E36 and a reclineable Sparco. For some reason, none of these bracket manufacturers list the dimensions. Presumeably so its harder to copy the design. I ended up with brackets that are 2.4 inches tall. With sliders on top and a relatively bolstered seat my head is touching the ceiling and knees the steering wheel. I'm 6"4. I look like a circus bear in the car it's barely driveable. I feel like im in a Miata. On the plus side, i dont need a sun visor at the moment!

    Yeah man, I didn't want to tell you not to get the planted brackets but I wasn't kidding about my lawn chair comment on your other video. I guess they haven't redesigned them, sadly. My short ass is 5'7" and I still thought they were too tall! lol I have heard good things about the titan brackets, but haven't tried them personally.

      Bro that 1.5-2" makes a huge difference. You were spot on with your lawn chair comment. The titan ones do look lower and i think thats what Pedro( Baltic supra) runs with his kirkey seats.

    Haha, I just found this video after having my NRG seat+planted bracket sitting in the garage for a year(for a civic si ep3). I went to install it today an it was the most painful install ever. Then at the end, the seat was too far away. There was no way to push it closer unless I attached sliders (if I understand correctly). I just ended up putting my stock seat in until I can figure it out, what a waste of $180.

    I had to add risers to get the Speed V seats up higher in a 71 Camaro, so I guess it is try and see , your results may vary

    just found this video, i bought the planted brackets for my Porsche 996 and they now sit too high about 1.5 inches, came to me last night i am going to grind off the part of the bracket that the bolts fasten to the car and redrill the holes so the bracket will sit flat.. and that will lower the back end of the seat.

    Wish I had seen this , bought planted tech seat brackets for my wrangler.
    The off set of the brackets is all wrong , makes it the seat too close to the door and roll cage, really disappointed

      Yea man I think they just figure out the bolt pattern that will work and then whip something together lol. I was lucky enough to be able to return mine.

      @josesupra  3 роки тому

      Nah man. Those are side mounted seats that you need specific seats to work with.

      I looked to see if the lower ones would work before making the video. I could be wrong, but I tried to be 100% sure before making the video.

    isn’t it only .5” difference not 1.5” u said the original 1 was 1” and the new 1s were 1.5” so the seat would only sit .5” higher not 1.5”

      Honestly it's been years so I can't remember the exact numbers, but since making this videos I've seen supra owners make post complaining about this. Ive also had others tell me they didn't see my video before buying and that they also had to send them back for the same reason. Whatever the difference was, which I feel like had to have been 1.5 based off the noticeable difference, it was too much.

    • @josesupra
      @josesupra  3 місяці тому

      Actually I just watched the video and you can see in the video I measure the brackets and there was 1.5" difference between the two. The original was about 1" from the floor and the planted brackets were an additional 1.5" taller than that. I placed them in a way thay they were both flat on the table. I'm guessing it looked like I had the planted bracket on top of my old bracket, but it was actually on the table. It's just that much taller that you can do that lol.

    Strange experiences. I own a 2011 STI, was lucky to find Evo SE Recaro's which match Subaru interior.
    No down time. Waited till they arrived and swapped the seats that afternoon.
    Seat height? I'm 6' 1", my STI is lowered a whopping 3/4 inch. Yet seat is so low I virtually fall into the seat. The driving position is OK.
    But hey, that's the way things go when ya modify your car. A lot of research, planning, and sometimes things don't go right. But I wouldn't blame Planted here. I didn't blame them for finding the position was so low. I'm not a young guy pretending it's a race car, though, and slamming it.
    (The STI seats were transferred to my "STI Outback", and are fantastic in that car, btw.)
    The STI is up for sale as of this week 👍

    Did you order the talls or the lows? They make two separate kinds

    • @josesupra
      @josesupra  Рік тому +1

      As far as I know they only had the one option for the Supra. It’s become pretty common now for mkiv Supra guys to run a different brackets and not these. Nice brackets but just way too tall.

    I had a question I ordered some and both of them say passenger so is the passenger one supposed to fit the driver side as well cause it didn’t I ordered them braum lmk if you know man thank you

    • @josesupra
      @josesupra  3 роки тому +1

      There should be one for each side. Left=driver and right=passenger. The seat belt brackets are on opposite sides and also floor usually isn't 100% the same front to back, so they need to be fitted to their appropriate sides.

    Those seats are way too big it seems
