I moved into new construction a year ago and I have retained Lawn Doctor for my yard. Cool season grass was put in my shale yard in the spring of last year. This spring, my yard came out about 75 percent weeds, primarily clover, with the remaining 25 percent a mix of bare spots and grass. I have retained Lawn Doctor and they have begun soil enrichment and killing weeds with the end goal most likely being a full reseeding. The yard is painful to look at. You have done a remarkable job on your lawn.
Going through each of these issues right now in Connecticut on a new construction home. Unfortunately will have to weather the storm until I can over-seed/re-seed in the fall 😢. Complete muddy mess in the backyard right now
Look forward to cleaning 😂😂😂 Great video. Just ripped out my shit new construction lawn and dumped 12 yards of soil in the front. Now that my grass is growing in beautifully, my neighbors are wondering why their lawns don’t look like mine
I like how you added in those little videos to add humor 😂 or to emphasize your point. Great job and keep doing what your doing!! Those stripes are looking good.
Going thru this now! Brand new home but a $200 sod job! It's driving me crazy. Problem is with rocks is there is nothing you can do but redo it. I've been taking a tamp bar and stabbing the ground to find the big rocks. Usually they are right under where the grass is struggling. But hey like you Shane I been working my tail off to push this grass to GROW! 1lb of nitrogen every week and rgs and humichar! Good video!
A great tip video you don’t see people put out there. Definitely can see a new construction home being a ton of work to get your dirt right. As for grilling a tip is to put your presentation side face down first of whatever meat you are grilling as the grill is cleanest and hottest when you first put it on there so you get great searing marks. Also don’t forget to do a 1/4 turn before flipping for that criss-cross pattern.
Grass doesn't like irrigation as well because of the municipal water systems having Fluoride and Chloramines in the water. Grass doesn't like it, but I'm sure it's perfectly safe to drink......
Burried Construction Trash/Debris was my main problem... The sorry S.O.B hid a crap ton of trash/debris... the following year after I purchased the home, the yard began to decline & I couldn't figure out why. As time went on we started to find broken bricks, pockets of leftover concrete, and trash all over the property.
Good video. Perfect kettle setup is adding a good thermometer to the vent side under the vent but above the lid catch. Vaseline the lid crown where it meets the kettle, then put some FDA approved sealant to the kettle rim. The red stuff. Close it up and let it sit for 48 hrs in warm weather. Then learn the horseshoe or snake method for charcoal placement. You'll be smoking like a pro in no time.
Going through this now... Just moved into new construction in Sanford NC, and the backyard is a disaster. We've had people come out with varying diagnoses; one said that we need to sod the backyard, others saying to aerate, lay seed, etc. I think I'm going to rent some equipment and do the raking and drawing up the debris before laying the seed.
Not just new construction. My house was built in 84 and I still find construction materials. Worse off one of the previous neighbors thou5 it was fun to break bottles in the back yard. 15 years later I'm still finding broken glass.
