Just a heads up, the proper 32:1 fuel mixture is 4 ounces of oil per gallon of gas. The mixture you made is a 40: 1 mixture meaning that is less oil per gallon than a 32:1 mixture is.

I believe I did .65 gallon of gas to the 2.6 oz of oil I put in my can, a half reduction of the standard 4oz of oil to 1 gal of fuel, and thus maintaining the 32:1 ratio

You didn't put .65 gallons of gas. You pumped .65 cents of gas. Your mixture is more like 20:1.
