"It was clear Elsa's emotions were far more complex than those of just a straight-up villain." Disney, have you LOOKED at your movies? Your classics like "Snow White", "Pinocchio", and "Dumbo" didn't sugar-coat the dark stuff for kids. "Cinderella" straight-up shows the emotional and psychological effects of years of abuse. "Mulan" showed the horrors of war. And do I really need to spell out what you did in adapting VICTOR HUGO'S "The Hunchback of Notre Dame", one of the darkest books ever written? I'm so sick and tired of Disney, and media aimed at kids in general, pussy-footing around their target audience. Children think and feel much more deeply than many adults give them credit for; the ideas that both "good guys" and "bad guys" can be complex and that the world isn't morally black and white are far from being revolutionary concepts. And such ideas aren't "too sophisticated" or "too dark" for children. Pretending otherwise and creating stories for children that feeds that false narrative will do nothing but stunt their emotional and psychological growth. As for Elsa herself, her being the villain, or at least an anti-heroine, would've been awesome. We could've had a badass Scandinavian Morgan Le Fay of sorts, but no. It seems like they wrote "Let It Go", saw dollar signs, and draped Elsa's skin over the song rather than fully forming her independently first and then writing songs around her. Basically, Disney, quit being so money-hungry, stop trying to create a monopoly on the entertainment industry by buying out everyone you see as a threat, and for Walt's sake, get your balls back.
what if they did make an evil elsa first they decided to mold the original idea into a ice princess that was good and kind but recovered from her isolated life what if elsa did have an evil sister in which she tried to help but she constantly fights against her for control over the kingdom then a more aggressive and destructive magic user shows up with fire abilities and then they have to team up to defeat him then everyone becomes a family at the end just saying that could have a more emotional and entertaining effect than anything disney could make nowadays
@@m0m055 I don't think she was, at least, not how I define it. For me, what separates outcast protagonists from anti-heroes/anti-heroines is how they react to their situations. While Elsa may lash out in anger or self-defense, she always seems to be firmly rooted on the side of good, never questioning or appearing to consider that she could use her powers to be "a straight-up villain". By contrast, an anti-heroine figure would be someone whose status as an outcast gives them a more gray sense of morality, or a more at times self-serving, opportunistic personality and yet because she's presented as sympathetic, we still root for her. But that's just my two cents.
I totally agree. First and foremost why is it like "not complex" for a girl who had been frightened her entire life suddenly after the "let it go" become all "I freaking don't care anymore" and just go loose? She was indeed already anti-heroine material if it weren't for the "children friendly" environment. To me "let it go" would have been so much more awesome if Elsa became the actual villain or at least severe anti-heroine. The plot would actually gain strength with the concept. I so agree to you that once upon a time Disney gave you some chills. Okay Frozen was an okay movie and one of the few originals we saw from Disney and it could pass on some messages there but seriously very few scenes were actually chilling. For example the moment when Elsa is attacked at least reminded somehow of Beauty and the Beast and it had the most powerful lines I heard in the entire movie "don't become the monster they accuse you of!" but that was all. I mean all Disney movies had in a way something predictable in the plots but where are the intense fight scenes like Beast and Gaston the haunting songs such as Be Prepared or My Lullaby or impressive villain deaths and everything? Not to mention that Disney used to dare something back then... I mean helo? Black Cauldron failed because it was TOO dark... "too complex to be a villain"? Well from my experience on Disney the villains are the most complex characters at least on Disney Golden age I mean Scar for example what was he? A maniac who wanted the throne? Perhaps but if someone sees how he was being treated by everyone it made me think of a person. Who said "okay it is a monster they want? Then I'll give them one!" not to mention that his original name was Taka which means "dirt" I mean seriously who names a child dirt? So yeah Elsa would have been much interesting to me if she became the villain and she would reflect more the nowadays problems they wanted to show. I mean how many depressed or troubled teens nowadays tend to turn to unlawful acts because they feel like they've had enough?
The thing about the lion Kong’s alternate ending is that Simba becoming king wouldn’t feel earned cause he basically got lucky landing on the tree. I feel like the creators did go with the ending we have now due to it being way to dark but I also feel like they realized that in order for the movie to end with a bang simba had to win by his own efforts and that’s why the ending is so amazing
You know, I missed the old animations where there were some dark parts to contrast the more lighter ones, like the ones from the 90s. That decade was really Disney's golden ages...
What about the deleted scene of the shock collar “celebration”, from Zootopia? Gaston's death would be different, he would survive the fall from the castle with a broken leg and then eaten by the wolves. But they used that for Scar's death with the hyena's. What about the whole shock collars concept for Zootopia? Jeez I just want Disney to not downplay it's dark material anymore. It was dark to begin with, as are the original tales of the stories they use, and it's clear to see that Disney still has a dark mind because of most of these deleted scenes.
Also the singing voice of Mulan, Lea Salonga revealed that she was supposed to sing the whole song in the movie but was cut because the directors felt it was unnecessary.

If you are also this about it, not just Toy Story would have bene effected if they had kept with the evil Woody, but also the sequels would have been effected as well. As Disney's-PIXAR would eventually release 3 more sequels, that came out in 1999, 2010, and 2019. But would would they have done for any of the sequels, as not too many Disney villains returns for the sequel. with Jafar being on e of the few that did return, and even Shere Khan was back in The Jungle Book 2 along with most of the characters from the Jungle Book. And that would be if they were a direct to video or later direct to dvd sequel, or a movie sequel that went to theaters. As most but not all the Disney villains would fall to their deaths.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame is the Best Disney Movie.
Black Friday scares me
i Love the Lion King
How about some Zootopia deleted and its storyboarding scenes? It didn't show up in this vid??!!
The Cars graveyard would have made it way better
Why does the #1 spot remind me of Maleficient with Angelina Jolie?
Poconatus movie sure
Kenai’s Confession anyone? The full version?
Frozen was way overrated, would've been better if Elsa was sued by the Dark Side and became a full-blown villain before having a change of heart
Ok
alot of these cut scenes make for a what could have been.
9:34-9:43 In my opinion, Monsters University would’ve been better if they had kept this deleted scene.
Top 10 lion king villains
I wldve 💘 2 c the villain Elsa. Honestly it wldve been interesting.
You forgot wild times
Now there is and ennui
9:48 deleted?
Ha ha. Nope. My copy of Pocahontas includes If I Never Knew You.
Autum Breeze it was re-added for a video release.
Early squad. What early its 20:05. But still. Early squad!
Evil esla
I glad they didn’t do a evil Elsa
Elsa I saw her in the thumbnail
frozen those too are sisters all the way through til end they had each others back evil elsa i think not however what if the road rage and colliding with her henchmen they got arrested instead of out on the loose in the dalmatian movie
what the heck Elsa was meant to be bad ?
Why is this more PIXAR than DISNEY? Not even honorable mentions of Snow White or Robin Hood? Nothing live action? Frozen doesn't always have to be in the top of everything
Mojo is just one of those biased shill groups.
