Also, now that it was first created in the early 1920s when we were living in a very different economic state. That strategy should not apply to people where we are currently. Yeah, it isn't KYC until it IS KYC. Exchanges will start off Non-KYC then as they gain users and (get noticed by the cftc, sec,fincen) they put in KYC to avoid being prosecuted. Just because they are outside the US doesn't mean that the US won't flex on them... See BItmex, Bybit, Binance, all which are based outside of the US which all arent any longer "NO KYC."

KuCoin has been a perfect experience besides the liquidity issue that makes prices vary from other bigger exchanges. Plus the confusing new setup for margin trading that they use to have. Plus the 5x leverage limit wasn’t good. I ended up finding bybit that focused on the things KuCoin lacked. Liquidity, margin/leverage layout, leverage limits.
Is being a while glad to see the kucoin overview I used gateio but now like biance Im restricted for being in USA gateio has something kucoin didn't have but only available to non restricted contries but watching the interface kucoin wins in that area. You save me time I was going to use it but got my USA alternative and one trading features very few know about still works not market dependent.
I am located in Canada right now and this platform DID ask me to submit a ton of documents proving my identity. (Passport/ driving license). Things worse, every time I make a transaction they ask me to upload pictures of me holding my documents and some notes with relevant data and some other words. They also asked me to give them a selfie of me holding my buying card with maid digits covered. I used the app though. So with all these “safety” actions I think I no longer will be trading with them again, it’s too complicated.

KuCoin will eventually ask for your KYC info. Once you start doing average size transaction and access some features, don't know why that was left out

I don't think this is up to date info. I just tried to buy any type of crypto from Kucoin and it asked me to verify a phone number and do KYC to add a funding source. Verifying a phone is almost as revealing as KYC.

I thought it was illegal for businesses to require your ssn if you want thier services? Anyone?
KYC (know your customer) and AML (anti money laundering), are processes these financial services have to make you go through- basically verifying with the government identity and tax stuff. So the legit ones may ask for your ssn, but do you TRUST them with that?

Thanks for the tutorial. I have a KuCoin but haven’t used it because it is still a “custodial” platform. This makes it no different than FTX, Celsius or an other that holds your fiat & or coins.
It okay to hold small amounts on it, but not a “safe” place for your coins. Anyone with time & experience in cryptocurrency knows rule #1; not your keys, not your coins! Period!
Understanding centralized & decentralized ecosystems is critical with regard to safely navigating the cryptocurrency ecosystem.
Be careful what you do on any network, centralized or decentralized blockchain!
