Following one of the Biggest Days at Skeleton Bay in 5years... The swell was able to hang around into the next day, which is rare. So instead of scoring 1 epic day, we were graced with 2 incredible says surfing Skeleton Bay... A real treat!
I got the longest barrel of my life at 24seconds... Then Rob Brown did the same thing on the next set! Everyone traded another memorable session, before we wrapped it up and began our LONG journey home.

Haven't surfed for 25 years due to injuries, but staying up till 3am, drinking bourbon and watching your vids of Skelos was a great way to spend my 55th birthday - Cheers.
what I respect most, before your surfing, is your family skills!!!!!!! you returning home after Namibia and seeing your kids for first time is priceless!!!!!! your surely know what is of the utmost importance before and after you get wet!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Brett. As a guy that was born and raised in Walvis Bay, I feel sad that I never pushed through trying to learn how to surf. I spent most of my time as a teenager riding my dirt bike in the surrounding desert, which was awesome, but the waves were much more intimidating than the dunes, and so I just gave the whole surfing thing up ( I guess being dumped on my head straight onto a sand bar and nearly drowning several times didn't help). Pity, because I wish I now had the ability to ride this amazing wave and share the experience you and others have had. Ah well, such is life!!
Anyway, next time bring your family, as there is much more to see and do in this fantastic country. They will love it.
That's too bad, but nothing wrong with time in the desert instead! I would LOVE to bring my family, but it's way to expensive for the 4 of us to buy tickets. maybe some day i'll figure out how... i'd love to show them Namibia.
Hope you can make it one day with your gang in tow. Holding thumbs bro. The desert is a special place, I agree. As Brian Adams likes to say, " those were the best days of my life...

WOW!! The footage is incredible!! You have definitely taken this to another level! I love seeing all the beautiful places you get to surf but the best part for me is the drive down 12! Be there in oct.. such a beautiful site to see how happy your kids were to see you.. speaks volumes to the dad you are.
That one though, the "is that even REAL?" wave.... Holy McBowl-ee it's like how do you even talk about those waves when you're there, I imagine being like "did you see that perfect one I got?" and other dude says "yeah but did your see that super-perfect one I got?" And dude #3 goes "yeah but did you see Rick Kane get that ultra super mega perfect one?"... And so on and so on and yeah idk I'm blown away by this place. Awesome job thanks man.
ya it actually is really bizarre... you kind of have to put yourself in check, cause you'll get a crazy wave, but then be like "ya but how about so-and-so on his?!". You get jaded FAST out there, and do WAY to much comparing your waves to waves other guys get, or even the empty waves you see. It's mind numbing honestly, but in the best way haha.

What dreams are made from. Only thing could ask for was the wave was everywhere like that and you could ride in 70 to 80 degree water. That would be amazing so you could stay out for ever just enjoying that wave with out having to come in to warm up. Every time I see waves and long barrel rides over and over and over an etc......again I get so stoked just knowing rides are like that out there,
You don’t have to come in to warm up... you have to come in to catch your breath and refuel. It’s the most physically enduring day of surfing one will ever experience
Brett Barley just imagine that wave here in the Outer Banks NC as a disabled surfer from Wanchese NC which I’m sure you know were that is. I would have to force myself to say screw those Doctors and my back issues and get back in my long lost love of the waves. You get me jonesing every time see your OBX waves as is, that wave here would be epic but the crowds would def be a lot different here then they are now.

If you can time it right... it’s not too bad. Though you still drift way down by time you get out.
If you time it wrong... you don’t get out and have to walk hundreds of yards back to start over.
If have CC on somewhere around 4:24 you say, “ oh my gosh” and the caption shows “Lord’s heart”. I think is is so cool, as if The Lord is speaking to us through your video. I know you’re a believer and just wanted to share this. I rolled it back a few times to see if it was a fluke and every time it shows “Lord’s heart” …thank you your good vids and many blessings to you; Psalms 37:4
