- Kane in 2003 was an absolute monster. I don't think there was a more violent character from the 2000s than Kane. In June of 2003, Kane lost his mask. Once he revealed his face to the world. He went crazy. Kane started to become more vicious like he previously was and he engaged in a feud with Shane McMahon. It brought us some crazy moments and Shane O' Mac sacrificed his body to vanquish Kane. In this video, I cover Kane's unmasked run. From June of 2003 all the way up to WrestleMania XX. This run could've been better. But from what we've seen. Kane was a freaking monster. He Tombstone Vince's wife, He burned JR and he electrocuted Shane McMahon. It was a wild run and Kane definitely deserved a title run. What did you think of 2003 Kane?

Larry The duck that makes no sense, he may not have been champion a lot but he was still in the spotlight as one of the top guys, and when I googled “Glenn Jacobs doesn’t like the spotlight” I found no source saying that, one source where he was talking about how his wife didn’t want to be in the spotlight, and an interview with eq where he says his greatest accomplishment in wrestling was winning the world championship for the first time.

As a kid born in the mid 90s I saw the last 2 years of attitude era so I never saw monster Kane of 97-99. So seeing this Kane in 03 gave me nightmares bc he became a pure monster & I loved every bit of it

Orton never set anyone on fire like Kane did JR. This Kane was insane! Lol the best part is according to superstars Glen Jacobs is one of the safest people to work with. Randy Orton is my favorite superstar of the modern era
@@derrickscott1630 did that version of Kane was in the Main Event scene? Did that version of Kane won any World Championships during that heel run? He was and still is an Upper Midcard level superstar, nothing has changed with him. Randy Orton during that time he won at least a handful of World Championships, won the Royal Rumble, main evented WM and SummerSlam, punted the hell outta Cena's dad, Stephanie, and countless superstars, and still to this day he is in the Main Event scene 10+ years after but not as much of an asshole like he was in the late 2000's.

I was actually naive enough back then to think that Kane was going to win the Title vs. Mask match on Raw.
Even during the match I thought we were going to get a title change. Triple H was hitting Kane with everything but the kitchen sink, and Kane kept kicking out.
Of course, Evolution came in and screwed Kane.

I do think Kane being unmasked could have been better.
However, for the short time in summer 2003 to WrestleMania 20, he was in-freaking-sane.

I wasn't a fan of his unmasking at first but I agree with you that up until wm 20 he was amazing being unmasked. His shackles and chains entrance was great. I wanted that entrance in a WWE game so bad. They should've continued that afterwards. He should've won the World Title but of course this was the HHH reign of terror era. I loved his rivalry with Shane.
He's only terrorizing until he faces his brother at wrestlemania. That's what happened at wm 14 and wm 20. Then he slowly but surely loses steam. That's how it always works.

Kane in 2003 was badass because he became an super violent heel who showed no remorse for anything. He should had a world title run during this classic heel run. This is without a doubt Kane's best run as a heel and 2003 was the last year he was looked as an main event player
12:21 2003 was not only Kane's character at his most evil but Vince's too. He basically tried to kill Stephanie to get her to quit the Smackdown General Manager job that he himself had hired her to do the year before because she wasn't doing it the way he wanted her to. He cheated on Linda with Sable, he made fun of Zach Gowen for having 1 leg, he ruined Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar's friendship by convincing Brock that if Kurt had really been his friend he'd have let Brock retain the WWE title in the Vengeance 2003 triple threat match between Brock, Kurt and Big Show. Brock agreed with Vince and turned heel. And in Vince's Survivor Series 2003 storyline with Undertaker he threatened to have terrorists burn down Taker's house, have his kids kidnapped and have Sara raped by a biker gang. And he said that if Paul Heyman who was the Smackdown GM at the time didn't make those things happen he'd strangle him to death, drag his body out to the ring and fire it.
Don’t forget He and Kane then buried the undertaker alive ,epic shit.

I remember watching all this back in the day and remember wondering at the time why is no one else seeing how awesome this was and why was wwe keeping him at a mid card level when having him as champ would be incredible and give the people what they want 2 c, him destroying everyone while as heavyweight champion and, we already saw him hurt people just to do it, makes you want to know what he would do when having something to fight for lol then he could lose it to taker or rvd at wrestlemania... damn I wish I could seen it done like that 😎🤘🙏
If Triple H hadn't been in full "Bury everyone because I'm Stephanie's husband and Vince's son in law" mode in 2003 unmasked psychopathic heel Kane could have gotten a world title run. They could have had him take out Flair and Orton leaving HHH alone and at Summerslam could have avenged the loss that forced him to unmask by becoming the World Heavyweight Champion.

I was six when kane unmask back in 2003 I was like this is a madman he was violent the feud with Shane mcmahon was good with good storytelling.
It would be cool if Kane was drafted to Smackdown in 2004 and winning the WWE Title
But he move to Smackdown in 2006 and did very well in blue brand. And in few years he won the ECW Championship then World Heavyweight Champion.

This is prolly my favorite version of Kane. The masked version with Paul Bearer, while still scary and threatening physically, was a little more on the supernatural side and either lacked conscience or was easily controlled. This Kane had a conscience, showed humanity and even had a personality before he unmasked (his Rock/Hogan impressions is one of the funniest things wrestling ever produced). After he unmasked, the Kane we knew was still there, but the unhinged psychopath he became was amplified by the void the more human Kane left behind. It's like he had a life that was taken away from him, and in return he started just lashing out.
Sidebar: Can we give Trips his respect as a stable member/leader now? DX, the MHR, Two Man Power Trip, Evolution... all contributing to some of the most compelling storylines in wrestling, and Trips was usually front and center of it all.

Besides original masked Kane attire, the singlet unmasked Kane is my second favorite attire for Kane. The red stripes and mesh material showing of his skin for some reason is cool look for me. I wish when he put the mask back on he would’ve updated this look then the attire he returned in.

Kanes track record between 2003-2004 was way more demonic compared to 97-2002. Burning a man with bell palsy alive,tombstoning an old woman on metal. raping and impregnating lita electricuting a mans balls absolutely sick bruh. He was more scary and evil than Undertaker at that point in my opinion

I never got the idea behind it. RVD should have been the guy with the extended feud, I always felt Shane hurt Kane much like he did Orton in 09. I mean I respect his willingness to take bumps but it has to be said.

The whole Kane unmasking storyline is build up for takers deadman return .. as said in dialog Kane and taker was becoming stale and more human so this storyline was to return them to the monsters they were .. the faces of fear .. and it worked for both because taker had a great second run and Kane had a great run following wrestle mania .
