    I remember I was in college and had a job as a security guard in the afternoons. I used to sit in my guard house and listen to Howard all afternoon and he made the time fly. He was hilarious. The worst part of the show was the music.

    Never get tired of seeing Howard during his 'big bird' years. But it was only a few years later that the Channel 9 show hit the airwaves. Howard's characters on that show rivaled anything ever put on the air by SNL or In Living Color. He was a great sketch comedian, unbelievably talented. Just look back at the Clarance Thomas bit or the My Left Foot spoof sketch as an example.

    I used to be an emissions inspector so all day long i was getting into strangers cars and i was always surprised at the wide variety of people that had Howard on. Not just 18 to 25 year old males but men, women, gay, straight, all ages, races and religions. My favorite were the 70 year old ladies because when ever I'd mention that i was a fan a big smile would creep across their face like it was a secret and they just got caught.

    OH MY GOD, I remember when this aired. 2 On The Town was a "60 Minutes-lite" exclusively for NYC area, aired on WCBS (ch. 2) at like 7 or 7:30 each night. This was March of 83. And that commercial at the end of the clip, one of the best. God, I miss old school WNBC, nothing against WFAN.

      He worked in hartford from 1980 thru 82. I use to walk him across tge street to his job everyday in tge crosswalk. @ wccc radio..its where he met Fred nortis..I grew up in the same town in ct..as Fred nortis..Manchester ct..

      Remember he lies about his salary when he talks about his past. He claims he was only making $150-$200 per week at this time, and he says that he doesnt understand how people on minimum wage nowadays can make it and they always complain about not making enough money. Then he says how if he was making minimum wage now that he could totally make it and be comfortable and still have enough to save. He's an enormous liar and hypocrite.

    Even then Jackie was cracking up at his own jokes. And the reporter had it perfect. A shock jock is a Stern imitator, he had legitimate comedic talent and elite comedians considered him to be one and said as much.

    Dam as a lifelong Stern fan, I sometimes question if Robin was overpaid, and deserved her millions. Robin was right by his side from the very beginning. Never left him in that cramped little shity studio.
    She deserves everything, she has earned.

    I love he was making millions then and he was only 30.. 35 years later and still killing it. He really got his best starting mid 90’s

    I remember seeing this piece when it aired. Howard was right--he was fired within the year. What a lot of people don't get it that what he does is satire. If you can see that, then you can enjoy him. If you can't, then you won't like him. BTW, they said in this piece he had a six-figure salary at NBC. I find that hard to believe.

    7:56 I remember that commercial. It was actually where I first heard of Howard Stern. Didn't catch on to him until the Channel 9 show WOR TV. Watched him on E!, then stopped when he moved to Sirius Radio though I do watch clips on UA-cam. Don't watch the recent stuff he's doing at all.
