I'm sitting sick at home with my husband and baby far away from family for our baby's first Christmas and birthday due to the military. Your video absolutely soothed my soul and helped me to feel less lonely this Christmas season. Thank you ❤
Oh gracious! I'm so sorry that you're away from your family right now -- and on top of that, sick during the holidays. I am glad that this video could offer a bit of a balm to the sting of your current melancholy and that we got to spend this time together! I hope you get better soon and will be off to see family again!
This was so wonderful! Audible please offer this man a job! I love your voice and i could listen to you all day. Happy holidays to you and your loved ones
Thank you for this reading. I only get a scant few moments to myself at night to work on my projects and this has been a lovely way to spend my evenings over the past week. I think this story should hold deeper significance for everyone this year as we think about making mankind our business. To everyone else, peace be with you all. ❤
Such a joy to listen, such an amazing process to watch. Helps me appreciate the steps in wool spinning as I’m not a spinner. I enjoyed finding your latest video while I spend a quiet Sunday knitting cabin socks. Your many talents are much needed, much wanted and the process quality and your time is very appreciated. Thank you very much for sharing this perfect audio/ video. And you have a nice singing voice too. We missed you, what a wonderful return to the table ❤
I’m a little late to the party but thank you, Christopher, for this video. My first time ever ‘reading’ this story and your voice was the reason. And I’m sure my audio book count would be much higher if you were the one reading them. 😊 Anywhoo, hope you had a lovely Christmas and your new year started well. May it bring good health, happines to you and your loved ones and may it make at least some of your dreams come true.
That was such a treat! Christopher, your voice brought this wonderful story to life. I enjoyed watching you bring your cowl to "life", from fleece to fiber. Thank you so much for your time in producing this video. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
This was the most delightful thing I have watched/listened to here on UA-cam. I watched while knitting ornaments to give my family this Christmas & your talent just blew me away! Wishing you a Merry Christmas!!
Wow, thank you for this wonderfully relaxing video! I´ve been knitting and unwinding to this video for a couple of evenings now and it has been the perfect way to relax before bed while also getting into the Christmas spirit🥰
Thank you so much for creating this! I've watched it in a few pieces, finishing today on new year's day 😊 I love A Christmas Carol and you read it so well! I really enjoyed knitting while you were crafting away as well, and I even sat and watched you spin for a while as I hugged a warm cup of tea 😊 thank you for helping me to create these intentional moments of calm cosiness. Happy New Year to you and your partner 😊
Heyyy! That's quite the accomplishment!! My good friend Cece just wrapped up her Timberline earlier this year and I know it is an UNDERTAKING so big congratulations on that!
Oh, Christopher! This was such a delight to listen to your voice reading the one and only Christmas classic. Thank you so much! I wish you a very merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year. Give Howl a hug from me. Hugs from Denmark.
I will give Howl extra booty pats this evening and let her know they're from you! She uh.... she doesn't LOVE the full-body contact but she'll never turn down some booty pats hahaha Thank you so much for watching and for your kind words! I hope the holidays are WONDERFUL! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much for watching! I'm truly thrilled that you enjoyed it. I have more videos like this one in my head so I'm glad to know that it was enjoyed!
🥲🥲🥲🥰🥰🥰🥰 I'm so touched that you enjoyed it!! I have more of these types of videos rolling around in my head -- thrilled to know that it resonated. Have a wonderful holiday season!!
Yes please Christopher! I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed your performance of this book. I thought I would be bored as that story has been around so long but the way you performed it was like hearing it for the first time! Please do more!
I have been unwell and away from family for all the festive period this year and I haven't felt very christmassy but this has brought me so much joy. Thank you for all the time and care you put into making this ❤️💚
I'm so sorry to read that you are away from family and not feeling well! Of all times, during the holidays. Absolutely unfair and I'm sorry for that. I'm glad we go to spend a little bit of time together, though, and that it lifted your holiday spirits! I hope the rest of the season treats you much kinder! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for this. What a generous gift this season. I am working on a Harry Potter jumper from New Lanark mill, which is the supplier for the original movie costume pieces. Can't wait to be trying it on! Happy holidays, and special hi to Howl!
Oh! I had no idea that New Lanark provided the original materials! What a fun project to be working on at this time of year 😊😊😊 I will be sure to tell Howl you say hello! Right now, she is DEEPLY sleeping underneath the tree, sweet as a lamb, as if she didn't just spend the last hour yelling at me for more shrimp (she ate her lunch too fast and believes someone stole it).
On my goodness, great to see you back and to see you using a New Zealand Majacraft Rose wheel. I can tell you love it. Majacraft make the best wheels, I have 3 of them!. It’s summer here in NZ great time for spinning outside, none of the blankest and cocoa needed here right now. Happy Christmas. Please post again.
Oh, I absolutely LOVE my Rose. People keep asking me if I'm going to get another wheel and, frankly, I just don't see the need at this point in my life. It can do so much and it *feels* amazing to use. There's a weightlessness to the experience that I can't articulate. Ah.... well, yes, the seasons are so different! Hahaha a friend of mine owns a little bakery in Christchurch and watching his updates always confuses the HECK out of me. Summer! Fruit! Berries! I'm over here, staring out my window, at a surprise snowfall of 4" and it looks like I'm in a Thomas Kinkaid painting lol
This is going to be PERFECT to holiday cram-craft along with when I get home from work! It'll be dumping snow by then, so I'll be making some hot chocolate, putting on my coziest jammies, and finishing as many projects as I can. Absolutely genius video, thank you so much for creating this!
I really enjoyed the story and seeing you do all the prep, carding, spinning, and then making your infinity scarf. It actually looks like it is not so daunting of a task to spin your own yarn, though I don’t know if I will ever be brave enough to try. A belated Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year to you and yours. Thanks again for the video.
I've had so many things happening at once and I just knew I wanted to dedicate some real time and thought to this project. Thanks for welcoming me back so warmly!
What a wonderful performance. Everything in this production was perfection. Thank you so much. Very tough time since early November, but this was uplifting and inspirational.
I'm so sorry to read that it's been a rough time for you lately -- I hope that the weather turns soon and the winds are to your back again. For what it's worth: I'm glad that this could provide you a bit of a port in the storm and that we got to spend this time together!
Thank you for a wonderful & heartwarming episode, it was a delight. Your spinning is wonderful and so perfect in consistency. Wishing you & your loved ones a wonderful festive season, looking forward to your podcasts in the new year.
Thank you for this Christmas gift to us! It is very much appreciated. You know how to read a story! It was so spellbinding that the slippers pattern I am knitting messed up. So I guess I will think of you and Scrooge everytime I will wear these slippers.
You’re awesome Christopher. I have a last minute surgery today and it’s been a stressful month. I can’t wait to watch this while I am home and recovering. Lots of love! -Liz
Gracious! I hope your surgery went smoothly and you are recovering easily. Please, take care of yourself and don't try to do too much while you're recuperating!
That was beautiful! I appreciate everything you put into making this video. It was a joy to listen to as I finished baking the last of our Christmas cookies. Have a very Merry Christmas!
This video is amazing! I don't know anything about spinning, yet, can you please tell me what that first step is for? The one with the little hand held card?
Sure! This step has many names -- Picking, Lock-Popping,. Flicking, etc -- but the goal is the same: to both open up the lock and rid the fiber of any undesirable bits and pieces. This could be vegetable matter (VM) like grass, nettles, seeds, burrs, etc or it can be fragile tips, nepps, or other flaws in the fleece itself. This isn't a necessary stage in the process, but I personally like to do this because it improves the overall quality of the batt and it decreases the amount of time I have to spend picking all of this unwanted debris out of my finished fiber!

I was hoping the reason we hadn’t heard from you in such a while was that you had truly fallen down the fiber preparation abyss! Fabulous!
What kind of spinning wheel is yours? It’s beautiful
@@christiesteckelberg8366 it’s Majacraft Rose wheel- custom made in New Zealand
You have literally NO idea how far down into the abyss. Hahahaha I have...... so many fleeces in my home now. 40? Maybe??
ShiftingSands57 is correct! It is a custom Majacraft Rose -- mine does not have any of the laser-burned decals that usually come with the wheel.
