@Erikk Hyndman I’ll first say. I don’t know these guys but it’s obvious they are growing. Each one of those is hand built, cost a lot of money, and takes a ton of time to perfect. That’s just the physical aspects of it. Receiver, motors, frame etc. Can you make even one drone fly around the sky and land? Getting this to work flawlessly with 200 drones is not an easy task let alone 500 or 1000. There is an insane amount of work, knowledge, skill and time that goes into this. Aside from building and testing each one from scratch, then getting them to fly together. Then they have to design and program the light show and make it all work together. An incredible task. If you can’t appreciate it idk what to tell you.

Hell yeah. When they were in bradenton the second night of sick week they had a dirty 30 race with crown vics at the freedom factory. With the redbull guys. He stays doing fun stuff.
Out of curiosity, what happens if they were to lose wifi connectivity? Do they just RTH? Some kid with a wifi jammer or deauther could possibly wreak havoc.

I have 2 boats, 2 4WD trucks (1/16 and 1/10 scale), and a Mavic Pro. The boats need charged, but the trucks and drone are ready to go as soon as I put batteries in them. Boats are all dependent on water level in my pond if I keep them charged up or not.
I got a handful of cool, fast rc cars. But I'm the only guy/boy in my house. I get so bored with out any one else. My batteries are all ways ready to go....
I have tons of RC experience and several drones and the charging never crossed my mind. Now it is blown. lol... Charging a thousand lipos is no small task.
Higher initial cost then nightly fireworks shows, but gunpowder adds up faster than electric, and Freedom Factory has plenty of space for solar if they ever want to zero out their electrical cost.

you should try a youtube search for this, Disney and Intel developed this a few years ago and Disney was first to display this tech at their parks. some private individuals used them for private Halloween displays at their house last year. (who has 200k for a Halloween display at home) This is LAME by comparison to what is out there today.

The complexity of controlling all those is stunning. And costs is incredible too at $3k+ each. It will be $3mil+ when he has 1000 flying. Id bet the logistics of powering them all is a nightmare.
@@rhadiem you'd need ALOT of power sockets to plug them all in. And you would need to keep track of whats charged and what isnt, sort out storing them etc. Thats alot of work.
Oh man, Garret, I thought you sought these guys out after seeing some of the light displays they've done and posted on UA-cam in the past year. It has to be expensive, but with the animation and graphics done right, it would become a permanent piece of content for the channel IMHO. Do it at an event, have them launch from the pad maybe? could be an add on to get people to come to that event.
There's a fictional short movie about hypothetical assassin drones called "Slaughterbots" on youtube. It's an interesting watch both oddly inspiring and extremely frightening. The power of these kind of technologies is crazy.
Knowing that this was a preplanned event over a private field I can appreciate the technology and planning behind it all... But on the flip side if I happen to be on my own land minding my own business and see something like this completely unannounced then I'm grabbing my Remington 870 and every box of #2 bird shot I own and I'm taking down as many of em as I can.
This makes you feel like the robots are taking over. It's even scarier when they start moving independently and swarming through a forest. It's super cool though to see them all working in unison and lit up at night with designs.
I live in Louisville, Kentucky home of the Kentucky Derby. Those drones put on a show every year during the Derby festivities. At night they're a beast.
Tomorrow we're gonna tie a rope to all of them and take George to the moon.

Saw these in person at a 4th of July firework show back in 2021. Honestly mind blowing how they all fly so close together and create different images.
After all this time I’m realizing that George is a pretty good camera man.

This is crazy! I can barely keep my families five RC cars all charged and running at the same time.
I struggle with 3 rc cars for my boys and me 🤣
