Wow! This was such an insightful video. I’ve been following you on IG for years and I loooove your work. A true inspiration. It was amazing to see who you are through this interview.
Currently in a bit of a rut with my photography, feeling frustrated with IG and battling the algorithm to get my work out there whilst also struggling a bit with inspiration to go out and shoot every day. This video with your insights and perspective was just what I needed. Thank you both 🙏🙏
Thank you Roman for doing these artist showcases, I really appreciate being introduced to these really fresh street photographers. Such a huge inspiration.
Mike blew me away when he first posted his Japan video and from there I've been a huge fan. Seems like a super chill guy and I enjoyed hearing him talk bout photography. Great video Roman.
I have following Mike for a long time. His style of photography always speaks for itself. His photos tell a whole different story. Enjoyed the whole video.
I loved hearing about going after complexity. The large majority of what I hear on my youtube photography subscriptions is all about simplifying. Such a great one as always.
Loved watching this video Roman. And he is so right with regards to photobooks or (because you can't buy all photobooks of course) looking at on a website on a bigger screen than those small smartphone screens. It is so much enjoyable to see a picture in full. Please keep on making video's like these. Thank you!
I have lived in Madison and taken photos in Milwaukee and Chicago as well as NYC, and I completely understand why moving to New York was transformative for Mike's art. Keep up the great work, Mike and Roman!
I like Mikes philosophy on photography. Thank you Roman for another amazing interview. I came here from James Pepsys and more and more diving into the street photography world. Myself im struggling a lot with publishing/printing my stuff. But I really love being in the streets and just wandering around taking pictures. (Germany is very difficult for street photography I feel)
Good stuff! @illkoncept is a great photographer who puts in a lot of work around NYC and does it justice. Great interview and good incite on a hobby that most of us in these comments are passionate about.
Nice one again Roman! Thank you for the discovery! Both skateboarding and street photography make you look at the city differentely than most other people, looking for spots and scenes in the streets.
Amazing. So much input. Thanks to both of you. 🤗 Printing your own photos is great. It's a totally different experience to see them on paper and holding it in your hand.
Have to say Roman that was one of the moat informative and interesting photographers you have interviewed. Really interesting guy to listen to. Much of what he said chimed with me. So much good advice in there. He has some amazing work. If that interview had lasted twice as long that would not have been long enough. Excellent stuff. :) Clive
Roman and Mike, what can I say ...? Simply wow and thank you! This video is a source of inspiration and motivation. Full to the brim with so many insights. I will definitely watch this video several times. Guys, it was so much fun listening to your walk through New York. 💫
Thanks for this great introduction to Mike, what a brilliant photographer. In addition to the great masters mentioned, Saul Leiter also comes to mind. But Mike is up at all those masters' level in my opinion based on this selection here. Cracking!
Roman, thanks for creating this video featuring Mike's photos. His series of images featuring everyday objects - ATMs, especially - resonated with my own practice. Best regards, Joe from Australia 🦘
When you both joke about the length of the video/interview, but it is, maybe, the best one you got!! (So far) The whole concept of these series, interview, insights, examples.. just broadens your knowledge!!
Mike shoots exactly the topics and styles which I do as well. Just on another level. Can't wait to get back to New York in 2025 to shoot again. As a half analogue half digital photographer it is amazing to see his work. Great channel, will follow your and Roman's Instagram channels now.
Thanks for having me! This was a lot of fun. 📸
I’m so impressed with the shots showcased in this video. So happy for this introduction to you and your work!
Wow! This was such an insightful video. I’ve been following you on IG for years and I loooove your work. A true inspiration. It was amazing to see who you are through this interview.
Enjoyed your work and good to hear you mention Ernst Haas. At 21.38, that smile was worth a day out.

Great stuff, great photography 👍🏻
I find about 90% of "street" photography dull and uninspiring but Mikes work is top notch. Very creative vision.
Gotta say - Mike's responses were some of the most thoughtful answers that I've ever heard. Thanks to both of you!
You’ve profiled many excellent photographers, but Mike may be the best one yet. Thanks and keep ‘em coming.

Liking what he said about the phone boots. Never saw it that way, but the fact that they don't exist anymore makes it really special.
