We have been buying the bulk of our groceries from Azure Standard and local farmers for several years. I only order from Azure every four months because I buy such large quantities at once. Several 25 pound bags each of cane sugar, wheat berries, flours, oats, cases of butter, cases of several cheeses, canned items. I home can a lot of food, my husband fills a freezer of venison every year, we buy almost all other meat from a local farmer. I buy condiments, milk, pasta, rice, etc. from Costco/Sam's Club but less and less from regular grocery stores. We do not homestead but still see a huge change in what we stock and cook over the past few years. We keep 12 months of food/supplies at all times. We live in the country but not too far from stores but we love being well stocked at all times just because it just makes sense.
This is so good! Great job! What you are doing here and how you are doing it and sourcing your food is exactly what a lot of homesteaders are doing. We are working towards producing as much food as we can, but there are still items that we are consuming that we are not or cannot produce. I am so impressed with y’all! We love venison here! Working on putting together a video on our 2023 hunting season 😊. Thank you for watching!
For many years I kept a 12 month food/supplies for my family. It saved us many times over the years from weather, financial issues, illnesses, etc. I did use grocery stores but shopped less than friends and family. No Costco near me back then. Never heard of Azure Standard but it I had I would have used them. I did garden with interesting results, lol. We truly loved summer tomatoes.
Just found your channel. We too are a mountain based family in the Pacific Northwest. We live very close to our farm and love the farm/ hill life on our homestead. We are retired and focus on our faith, family and our horses and critters we love. It is a very peaceful easy lifestyle for us
Welcome! We are so glad you found us! I grew up in the Pacific Northwest. It is a beautiful area to homestead in 💕. It sounds like you guys have an amazing farm! What a blessing to enjoy such a wonderful life! Thank you so much for watching 😊.
I really like your videos! I hope you make a trip to town soon so we can see anothet video of the fall trees you mentioned in this video..or late summer lol. I also praise you for all the great natural products you buy. Yay! I've made big lifestyle changes in the last several years. Unfortunately.. I'm a foodie..food addict lol. I don't make the best food choices sometimes. Prayers for healthy food consumption. ❤ Btw you guys look great!
Thank you Amber! We get the food/foodie thing. Since I had breast cancer in 2017 we have been trying to eat real food. I cook from scratch and don’t use much processed junk. It means long hours in the kitchen and sometimes finding a scratch recipe to replace a convenience food item is tricky, but we try! I know that you made a whole bunch of changes too. It is so worth it! We have to take more responsibility for our own health right?
From browsing I came across your channel and I am now a proud subscriber 😀. Enjoyed this video and will look at the rest of them as well. Hope you channel grows to your expectations. Look forward to many more. May Peace Health and Happiness follow you and yours
Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to write such a kind comment. We really appreciate you and are so glad that you enjoyed the video 😊.
Hello! We just picked up our first azure order yesterday and we are so excited to have this option available to us. So glad to see the masa! I have been looking for it for awhile and will be purchasing some to make canned tamales!! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much for watching! I headed over to your channel and you have some awesome content! I really love the fast meals vs fast food videos! We are gonna have to binge watch your channel 😊!
Have just found you by chance we also live on top side as we call it in Scotland a big hill😅 so enjoyed watching you and have subscribed blessings from a very windy Scotland 🏴 ❤
Living on the top side has a lot of benefits 😊. We are so glad that you found us. Thanks for watching! Scotland is on my bucket list to visit some day. It is so beautiful and full of amazing history.
@@Thehomesteadinghills We bought a fixer upper house sight unseen for les than. most people buy a car. We have been here for 4 and a half months. We had to slow down on everything for a bit due to hubby having surgery almost a month ago. I have been trying to figure out how to make a video lol for my channel. My phone camera acts up every time I try to use it. I think it is due to being old and having no memory lol I think if I can find a no longer being used phone with a decent camera I could just use that with my wifi. I reached out to the children to see what they do with their phones lol. I may have to bite the bullet and just buy something but I dont even know wat I should buy. What did you use when first started your channel?
I live on a private dirt road with 6 homesteads in a very small rural town and we have to pay for all road maintenance and your right some can get rather expensive..
You are correct it can be pricey 😢. I mentioned this because I don’t if I would have thought about it if I hadn’t experienced it at my childhood homestead as well as the last homestead we lived on. I don’t know that it would have been a deal breaker, but it is always good to go into purchasing your forever homestead knowing the details. We live outside a very small rural town as well. We have lived both in city limits and county. It’s all something to consider 😊.
@@Thehomesteadinghills I agree 100%! 😊 We knew before purchasing our land that we would have to pay but figured the pro’s outweighed the con’s..The only part I don’t like is All the snow removal as we live in the thumb in Michigan..lol
Hello! Welcome NC! We use Azure Standard as a way to access great quality products without having to drive hours to get quality products. If you can find a drop close you should give it a try 😊. Thank you so much for watching!
We too live in NC and we have a Foodbank in our town. A lot of churches give out boxes and bags full of meats can goods and dry good for free. I dehydrate, can and freeze most of the items and give away the overstock.
Thanks for watching! This particular order was roughly $200.00. We like Azure because it gives us an option to get good quality food from small farms/businesses. 😊
Yes it really does always come that nice. We live in a bit of a food desert so being able to get organic produce that looks and tastes amazing during the times that we are not producing our own is really awesome. Thank you for watching!
