What she feels is the affection a girl feels towards a guardian figure who cares for her. Such a masterpiece, like literally, a masterpiece. A film & song where its just pure black and white, a film & song that has such strong emotions & feelings from/to your heart. Its a film where you just feel pure raw emotion as if you're the character or if you're seeing it first hand in person. A film with such a perfect selection of a cast with such an underrated actor Jean Reno. Like Jean Reno truly nailed the performance like hes so underrated, and it really shows. By far one of the greatest films of all time like all the roles were nailed perfectly. Its just a masterpiece.
This movie touched me so much when I was younger. Some people who have oh so perfect lives might never face situations that don't fit in with the norm. That doesn't mean I support unlawful actions. But as an individual, in the situation, there are feelings we have to process. Matilda's trauma, Leon's trauma and how they process it, Matilda's lightheartedness, Leon's ice cold shell. Yet they are two humans with feelings. Amazing movie.

Movies like this can only be made in a certain time in a culture. Unlike today, the 90's was a different decade, where weird, dark, different movies turned the spotlight on them simply for the beauty of their stories. These days,we have an unfortunate situation of self-censorship.
I dunno. Game of Thrones would have left an audience in the 90s stunned. ‘And then he raped his sister in the chapel, containing the body of THEIR dead son’. Censorship no where in sight.
I did research on this film after watching it because some parts of the movie seemed like there was sexual tension or at the very least romantic interest between Léon and Matilda, especially toward the end when she escapes the building. Turns out the original script indeed have a scene where they do end up having sex, but the director was forced to cut that part out of the film because of very obvious reasons. The justification for this was that Léon was emotionally immature and that somehow excused him having sex with a child. She also had to undergo psychological treatment to prepare for the role given her age at the time and the nature of the film.
@@DP-ot6zf None of them see it that way which is disgusting. Everything about the movie is for pedophiles and their sympathizers. IM glad they will all burn in hell for eternity.

I got the chance to see this movie earlier this year, and I have to say, it was actually really good. I'm not into violence all that much, but that's not what this movie was really about. Leon turned out to be a fantastic father-figure for Mathilda. She's lucky she had someone like him, after her parents were such jerks. And the fact that Leon pretty much sacrificed himself, it really said something about how dedicated he really was.
No, he's not a creep. They both helped each other. Maybe, when Matilda grew to adulthood, there might have been a future for them. Nice thought. I think they would have been good for each other. Instead, it's a tragedy with no winners, except perhaps for Matilda who inherits his money. Who else would he leave it to?
no one asked but in the Philippines, "butterflies in the stomach" means "Kilig" (kee-lig). It's a new word added in the Oxford Dictionary. So when your crush says hi to you, you would say "I'm kilig" and i think that's beautiful
Mathilda "I'm feeling love, in my stomach" Leon "That's not love, it's the feeling of trust and safety after being rescued from not only a neglectful disfunctional family, but also a murder situation."
She's always been so adorable and she still is. I love how it demonstrates the way a man acts in situations like that. Or should act. There are many types of love and platonic and paternal are two of the strongest and appropriate. I for one have always loved her. She's just about my favorite actress. Her and Scarlett Johnson.
Luc besson had a kid with a 15 year old and originally intended for leon and mathilda to have a physical relationship. Reno didnt want to look like a possible creep and so played these scenes like an idiot, but frankly he looks like forrest gump being seduced by jennie: turned on but clueless. The cinematography also leans more toward bessons vision than renos.
His reaction in the hallway was potent. He doesn't want to care, doesn't want anyone else to care for him. Nobody knows where they'll be or what they'll be doing a single year from now, so tell her to re-think it in 8 or 15 more years.
The way he just speaks alone in this scene is cracking me up so hard. “Where?” Had me stifling my laughter. “I’m glad you don’t have a stomach ache anymore” had me wheezing. I’ve originally heard that these relationship of these two characters were actually going to be more sexual. I’m glad that never was the case.
First of all its a movie, and secondly I see nothing wrong with that he was put into a situation where it would be very to easy to do the wrong thing, A LOT more people than you think would do the wrong thing. Also you say it's the bare minimum like if it was expected that everyone is good which is the wrong mindset you have to expect bad things from people until proven otherwise.

Leon is simply her first experience interacting with a 'real' man. Not the Bravo's like the corrupt police or the Charlie's like her father. Real men are protective, responsible, professionals who care about their communities. Hence Leon's Rules and nurturing nature. Matilda's love is the result of a girl finally realizing her potential, ..through him. Room to grow into greatness. In this, she and the house plant share a similar parable. 😉
Yeah
Lol.. Men dont look at 13 year old and think about that what he was looking at nasty
Nice observation
On point
Leon was treating her like a typical little kid the whole time. But she got the wrong idea and trying to seduce him the whole time instead.
she's not feeling love she's feeling trust.
well maybe the type of love a daughter would feal for there dad well if there a good dad that is
I miss this kind of movies so much.
A truly unforgettable masterpiece, and a touching film. Legendary.
That girl can act!!
Yeah she went on to star in several other movies
Heard she's becoming intergalactic queen that marries imperial strongest sith lord
Rumour has it, she hooked up with god of thunder too
@@dimasrizky1838
Yeah I would say her CV looks pretty good
Who would have ever thought that she could do all that
When i saw this i knew one day she would win an Oscar
@@petermousley7328 She showed enormous promise here but has gone down a bad path, going into frivolous "pew pew" space operas to literal comic book stuff. Tragic, really.
The second time Leon spills his milk🥛 is too hilarious🤣 but adorable for both actors in this scene, basicaly innocence vs code
Such a masterpiece, like literally, a masterpiece. A film with so much build-up, filled with raw emotions and feelings with a film that is truly memorable, unforgettable, legendary, and filled with emotions that you honestly can't help but feel alongside the characters & the emotional story behind it, especially what happens at the end which just makes this film turn to a sudden turn of just pure sadness especially with the build-up & how emotionally intense it was.
Right on
This movie touched me so much when I was younger.
This movie brilliantly handles very delicate topics.
Only if the same could be said about the director, sigh.
in 1:19 he felt like he wasn't be loved before , he just was dealing with this world like big universe and he was too small and when someone said to him I love you he can't deal with that cuz he hadn't been loved by someone except his girlfriend and that was long time ago , since that no one told him even a nice word that rest his soul so he was very sensitive in emotions , that's deep !
So many issues are touched here. A man is as sensitive as a woman. Leon is a wonderful character. Natalie Portman is a true OG
Movies like this can only be made in a certain time in a culture. Unlike today, the 90's was a different decade, where weird, dark, different movies turned the spotlight on them simply for the beauty of their stories. These days,we have an unfortunate situation of self-censorship.
Agreed, people act like everything is rainbows and gumdrops. Pedophiles, murders, suicide, debt, depression, lying, racism etc exist
Oh shut up man about self censorship. You guys don’t watch many movies then complain about everything
I dunno. Game of Thrones would have left an audience in the 90s stunned. ‘And then he raped his sister in the chapel, containing the body of THEIR dead son’. Censorship no where in sight.
*_"Leon, why don't you take a seat"_*
Layers to that statement lol
@@theDjwan bruh a girl friend of mine told me i should watch that video... i was confused for almost the whole film

😱 Nooo! This was my favorite movie as a lil child, and I still love it. Now I want to cry!
The director is a pedo
Ayo wtf
It still is a great movie. But the director is questionable.
😭😭😭😭😭
I absolutely love this movie.

leon handled an awkward situation as a champ
This was the moment when Leon became a professional
Him gaging on milk gets me every time. As someone who has been in this scenario it's a pretty accurate reaction
Everybody talking about the crazy age difference meanwhile I'm here like danm my life and family was just like that as the one in movie... some people blessed to have good families fr.
Portman should have received an Oscar for her performance in this one.

Leon is a the man we all need to follow
This music!
Soul it is.
That's the melody of flying but not in the air..
That's u have to believe in smth we cant see but feel it ❤
Leon really wanna say "i love u too" but he know fbi will asking to open up on that moment
That’s probably fatherly love from Leon.
@@tianshuhuang5431 trying to make joke dude ._.
"ladies and gentleman, we've got em." - some FBI guy.
I dont think the FBI is a problem for Leon lmao
No, he's not a creep. They both helped each other. Maybe, when Matilda grew to adulthood, there might have been a future for them. Nice thought. I think they would have been good for each other. Instead, it's a tragedy with no winners, except perhaps for Matilda who inherits his money. Who else would he leave it to?
Natalie’s parents allowing her to do this movie really raises some questions.
why'
No wonder hollywood people are lefties man
I wish i could thank her parents
Exactly I thought really questioning the parents. Its a weird move
This movie is a MASTERPIECE! LOVE THIS MOVIE. 😊😊😊❤
The rush of teenage for love experience with a man who feels missed family and parenthood expressed in iconic ways here 🎉😅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

"I think I'm in love with you"
"how do you know it's love?"
"Bitch, I don't that's why I said I think."
no one asked but in the Philippines, "butterflies in the stomach" means "Kilig" (kee-lig). It's a new word added in the Oxford Dictionary. So when your crush says hi to you, you would say "I'm kilig" and i think that's beautiful
Jean Reno has gotta be one of the best damn actors in the world, Il peut jouer n'importe quel rôle dans un T
One of the best movie scenes. Leon is deeply disturbed, and so it will be the first time he gets wounded.
He said I’m glad u don’t have a stomach ache anymore 😂😂😂 man is a true father ong! Definition of a good man!
That's some strong willpower
That's one awkward way to head to work lol

Hola
one of my favorite movies Natalie and Jean are amazing 🎬
Mathilda "I'm feeling love, in my stomach"
Leon "That's not love, it's the feeling of trust and safety after being rescued from not only a neglectful disfunctional family, but also a murder situation."
She's in love with him
Mathilda is lucky Jean Reno isn't a hollywood actor....
Mathilda was definitely confusing love with trauma bonding.....
Choking on the milk was awesome. So funny!
She's always been so adorable and she still is. I love how it demonstrates the way a man acts in situations like that. Or should act. There are many types of love and platonic and paternal are two of the strongest and appropriate. I for one have always loved her. She's just about my favorite actress. Her and Scarlett Johnson.
Que atuação brilhante dela em "O Profissional". Rendeu até um "Oscar". Alí já dava para perceber a grande atriz que ela se tornaria! Magnífica!
Nobody knows where they'll be or what they'll be doing a single year from now, so tell her to re-think it in 8 or 15 more years.
chris hansen walks in: you see how this looks right?
The way he just speaks alone in this scene is cracking me up so hard.
“Where?” Had me stifling my laughter.
“I’m glad you don’t have a stomach ache anymore” had me wheezing.
I’ve originally heard that these relationship of these two characters were actually going to be more sexual. I’m glad that never was the case.
When I grow up I want to be like Leon😂
The fact that this guy’s getting praised in the comments section for not dating a minor is insane literally doing the bare minimum
Not gonna lie, I was expecting her hands to go on a different place xD
The way the character Matilda was being in this movie towards Leon made me feel uncomfortable 😆🤣
Leon handled this in the most mature way Matilda wasn’t in love she was just confused because for the first time in her life someone actually cared for her like a father figure more then her own father ever did
Leon saying:- umm i love you too
FBI:- What did you say
Leon:- But as a father
FBI:- Stepdad huh?
