Another quick tip. If you get the head of the spear in the water before you throw your chances at hitting them are a lot better. Not as crucial in shallow water but definitely in any deeper water.

Great spearfishing, I agree that these fish are right up there with walleye. We have more chain pickerel here than pike, but they are delicious!
Couple spearing tips for ya if your interested. Ease the head of the spear completely into the water and then give the spear a lite push/drop dont toss it. Another tip the big one that was lost let them sit on the bottom and wear themself out lift up on the rope so the whole weight of the spear is pushing them into the bottom when raising them up push them into the ice on the opposite side of the hole before lifting them out.

Best advice, cover the windows. Most in MN refer to a spearhouse as a darkhouse for that reason. You won't spook as many fish, and you can see them better. (not as good for filming of course) Nice work. Also, getting that spear head in the water will let it fly more accurately with minimal splash/noise.

When i ice fish i was taught to put spear just under the water like stick it on the ice make a little shelf and have the tip stuck into it.. so when you drop the bang on the fish there is no splash works good for me and has been for 15 or so odd years spearing fish. And for a another note on your decoy always always have it hooked to a reel. Line should be min. of 50lb strength with a wire leader hooked to decoy and so you don't lose everything. Reel should be adhered to wall or ceiling of ice shack. Also reel with Chub on it too. Don't know how many times a Northern came in at Mach 10 and grabbed decoy or Chub and headed out with it in its mouth snapping line. Again when we put a big Chub on a line and in hole,...put it down about 3 maybe 4 feet or so watch chub. If a Northern or Walleye is coming around it will always swim opposite of what is coming. That way it gives you heads up so you can grab your spear and lower the bang on it. Not that you didn't do well... those are awesome fish. Funny you have electronics hahaha i don't, so i do it old school. Around Mobridge is where i ice fished.. did well and still do awesome at this.
