- Officials in Lebanon say at least 12 people were killed, including two children, when pagers used by Hezbollah across the country exploded. Iran's ambassador to Lebanon is among the nearly 28-hundred injured by the simultaneous blasts. Hezbollah militants began using the devices in hopes of avoiding Israeli surveillance of their mobile phones. The militant group blames Israel for the explosions and says the attack will not go unpunished. There's been no immediate comment from the Israeli military.
For more on this, we talk to DW Bureau Chief Mohamad Chreyteh in Lebanon's capital Beirut.

Seems to me that their own tactics have been used against them, and they're outraged. Ive heard these attacks described as weapons of mass destruction, but I can't agree with that description. While collateral damage is horrific, these look more like targeted incidents, meant to take out operatives, rather than non combatants.
If we live in peace with our neighbors nothing of this happens to us

The presenter misspoke! He said to the guest Muhammad that: ‘We’ve just heard that many people want to strike back”. One person said that, no one else did. Many Lebanese silently or anonymously would like Israel to completely destroy Hezbollah so that people who want peace and stability in Lebanon can get on with a once thriving country. Had they made peace with Israel when Egypt then Jordan did, this probably wouldn’t have happened because Hezbollah wouldn’t occupy the Southern part of the country.

There are extremely disturbing injuries for sure. But one should not forget, that there is a war going on between Hezbollah and Israel that Hezbollah started for no reason. And quite a few people have died in this war. And unfortunately there is little reason to believe that any of them sustained less disturbing injuries. This is no fun, even when contained. (And still, the deaths of the children in the pager attack are a terrible accident).
As the pagers were under warranty period, Israel has offered to replace them at no extra cost.

Listen: This can put a very catascrophic detonations if it could have happened say inside an airplane plane midflight with one of those or any electronic devices . Can you imagine if those victims happened to be inside a commercial flight without knowing what they have with them.
