Stop the war on drugs! All the money saved on the war can go to create free rehabilitation centers and education. There is no need to lie to a generation like the Regan administration, tell them the truth about drugs - why some people become addicts while others do not, why it is important not to put drug users down, why using drugs will only mask the problem and will only work for a period of time.
The war on drugs has killed millions and divided millions more. It was flawed right from the start. You CANNOT tell another human being what they can and cannot put in their bodies, but you can be there for help them when they eventually fall
Yes, that means we decriminalize the hard drugs, too ( heroin, etc.) When the government takes over the sales of these drugs, there will no longer be the impurities in these drugs, which is what is doing the majority of the killing. Yes, you still have to put an age restriction on the sales of these drug, but that is all you can do. You have to let human beings make their own choices when it comes to putting substances into their own bodies.
oops.. wrong comment to respond to. sry!
Hi🖑
Just saying if you're gonna make an episode about addicts, pls dont invite ONE food addict because I felt super offended by more than half of the things he said (being an ex addict myself.) It just didnt make sense. If you wanted to make an episode about food addiction than you shouldve out that in the category of eating disorders if ANYTHING. not addiction. Period.
*do all people with eating disorders think the same?*
Its a issue at my school and its just scary how many people i know with an ED at such a young age.
“If you put a line of coke in front of me imma sniff it.”
That hurt my heart

Didn't see said she done hallucinogens? I guess that's also her addcition. The only really addictive hallucinogens I can think of are ketamine and nitrous oxide. It was really hard for me to give up nitrous oxide. It's like buying a box set. I have to finish the whole box as the hallucinations keep ending on cliff hangers.
Though some hallucinogens can somehow work against addiction as they work on different areas of the brain. I remember reading a story about a heroin addict who used iboagne because he wanted to get high, but he came down from the trip and left his addiction behind him. Psilocybin has also been shown to help people give up smoking.
I honestly feel it
They should have asked if trauma played a part in their addiction.
it always does.
That’s what addiction is. Numbing out/ finding a way around things
Trauma, especially when it’s unaddressed, is the root of so many problems
You guys should look into Gabor mote. Good spiritual talk, and a lot about addiction
@@allesundmehr Uh nope.

Alcohol is a drug
exactly
I know this addictions can be also bad but I think drugs, specially heroin, cocain, make physicall and mental damage much more quickly also they usually drive you to criminal life or criminal people that is an important difference.
MayoOnMyRicePls alcohol can be USED as a drug. Abused, etc. Although prescription meds vs vodka are two different things. You don’t go to NA if you are an alcoholic. You don’t go to AA if you use narcotics.
who's gonna tell Johnathan he's allowed to cry, bruh, give that man a hug and let him feel emotions

It pains me to see Jonathan apologize for showing emotion of the people he's lost along the way. No need to apologize for being emotional about that whatsoever. Keep on keeping on brother!
The best advice I ever received (when I apologized for crying) was "Never apologize for that. You have every right to be moved by your own experience."
Maybe he should apologize for snorting a lump of phlegm into his hands, for all to hear! Nice one
It's basically like he was apologizing for being for a human who has feelings. It saddened me.
@@StephanieSlumdog Weird, the advice I get is, "stop being a cry baby/wimp." So I haven't for 5 years, worked so far. But good for you for letting your emotions out!
I was thinking the same thing. Like "no one's going to tell him that he doesn't need to apologize for that?"
The fact that this guy remembers exactly 6 days ago 11 years shows how heavy the overdoses have been weighing on him. Man I hope one day you forgive yourself. It is not your fault.
when the woman said "...tell me why i should be sober, tell me why i should love my life...", it really opened up a window to her thoughts and feelings. :(
She needs to realize that the answer why is within her. No one is going to give her that answer, she has to find it herself. And I hope she does.
@@thatgirlreacts5465 i think that's her depression talking, and when you have depression you need help from professionals, you can't just "find the answer within you" (talking from my experience). that's why i do believe is important to call addiction a disease and treated with depressive or manic syndromes, becuase most times it comes from that. it's not as easy as using your will when the will (to live, even) is not there to begin with (no hate to you at all, just some thoughts about this)

Exactly! He should have been in a separate video for people with eating disorders
Well, he did claim that he has food addiction. An eating disorder but an addiction no less, so he pretty much applies. The video did say "addicts"right. Like, it has no specifics to it so he still applies.

Can we appreciate how much morgan has worked to have something like emo nite. Everyone here deserves recognition, they all got to the end of something unimaginable that meant different things for each of them
The guy with the food addiction Kind of upset me, he literally laughed at the guy who said he wants heroine after getting prescription opioids.. that's not right.
im super annoyed at that... he fundamentally does not understand the current heroin epidemic in this country (USA)
I think he meant that people with pain issues (who are not already addicts) who start opioids aren’t typically going right out to buy heroin after their surgery.
@@xxdiscoxxheaven1 yes, but for a lot of people that's how they become addicts. They get prescribed opioids then they crave the feeling and look for that feeling anyway they can.
@@xxdiscoxxheaven1 It is though that's a large part of what the heroin epidemic is about. Doctors were prescribing opioids for after surgeries for pain and normal people were getting addicted, and once their prescription ran out they turned to heroin.
I laughed at it, I also have a substance abuse problem and can relate thats why I found it funny, because i was thinking the same thing as Morgan.
"It's a matter of self control, influence and environment"
True words spoken☝️☝️☝️
Yeah, I think that statement holds true to practically anything in life
So true
Self control is the result of a well developed prefrontal cortex. Without it you simply cannot have self control. That is why it’s wrong of them to say it was “their fault”.
@@Seanonyoutube it was their fault everybody has a choice at least these people can admit their responsibilities .
Sean its a million percent their fault they chose to try the drug in the first place
As someone with a former food addiction, thank you for bringing that in this! I am officially in tears!
The caffeine and adderall thing is so real in college lol
I really like Morgan’s personality. I hope he’s doing well
Who is gay
Lol Hei Morgan’s the dude in the white tee
Same. He seems so cool and smart.
Sparklle Rainne he’s really cool. I know him
Peep his ig in the description! Seems to be living a killer life, which I’m sure he credits quite largely with recover
8:04 When he said "I do." my heart sank. People don't realize how often that hospital scenario leads to addiction.
KteaBee I can see why people would get addicted to heroin or any drug during in a hospital, I got my colon removed from surgery and they kept giving me doses of hydromorphone, and man that stuff rocked. Was getting it all day for 2 weeks (for the pain of course) and made me feel so good. But after getting out of the hospital, I wasn’t really going crazy for it thank goodness. I miss the feeling though.
It's literally one of the strongest receptors in the body, and over-prescribed! Most opioid addiction is from prescriptions which is saddening.
I was under anesthesia because I broke my foot at the growth plate (I'm Dutch and translate told me that this is how its called) and that stuff felt good. I can see why people get addicted to that stuff
This entire episode was fascinating to me...as an addict in recovery, I was very impressed by the diversity of very intelligent and profound opinions surrounding addiction. The guy in the gray shirt...man, I just wanted to hug him and just let him cry.
seeing these men be vulnerable is magical... I am so happy for all of them and I hope they have happy lives
Does anyone else feel like Jada is in a dangerous denial situation?
Dani EscC
She seemed pretty self aware to me. She might still be using, but she admitted it, recognized that she wouldn’t be able to turn down a line of coke, and acknowledged that she might not be totally ready to quit. She was on the agree side for the question about her addiction being her own fault. Her problems with the rehab industry were valid. Denial isn’t the word I would use. Dangerous is a different story.
I've seen many ppl come out of a dangerous addiction into non sobriety living with just casual drinking or smoking weed. I've seen way more ppl try this and fail because they either relapse eventually or alcohol/weed becomes the drug to fuel the addiction. So ya I think she's in a dangerous situation since she's clean from everything but alcohol but it's not impossible for her to be safe and mature about it. I don't think its denial but her road ahead of her most likely is going to either be weening off all substance use eventually or going back to harder drugs. She said her fav drugs are hallucinogens so idk why she doesn't do shrooms and go into the trip trying to look over herself and her addiction. A LOT of ppl find a shrooms/lsd/dmt trip once they commit to being sober or just want to be sober ends up helping them understand themselves and their addiction so much more. most don't go back for substances after. I'm even more surprised that she would continue to be an addict when hallucinogens usually promote healthy living unless u abuse them significantly and go into a psychosis or bad thought patterns.
she displays a victim mentality, full of excuses...
shes in addiction. thats the behaviour.
@@mikemagliozzi8160 I know many people who do hallucinogens all the time just recreationally, idk if they're addicted, but obviously some people get addicted....so what's the difference between a person who continues healthy living and those who get addicted...or what is even considered addiction vs regular usage
the guy in the white and plaid were the two whos stories i wanna hear
Natalee Denlinger What story. By not admitting to his own fault. That’s why he’ll never feel alright.
@@migracing8232 iTs iN mY GEnEs
@@HaIfaxa there really is a genetic component regarding addiction.
@@HaIfaxa it is. It definitely has that psychological aspect related to the genes.
@@Waddaa06 Of course, but should someone avoid all blame for their own issue because of their genes? No. Some of us are predisposed to it, but the fault doesn't lay completely with your genes. At the end of the day, you're the one who chose to use the substance, you're the one who continuously goes back to and refuses to get help for it. So I stand by mocking what he had to say, because he just reeked of not taking the blame for his own issues.
“It doesn’t define me as a person, it’s just part of who I am” Exactly. Being an addict should not have a negative connotation.
Addicts are anything but judgemental, and that's why they made Brad feel erlcomed there, yet he did the exact opposite to some of the Addicts present. So what does that tell you?
When did he act judgmental? I felt like Lucas was probably the most judgmental one.
He's not an addict he has compulsive disorders
@@eklectiktoni is Lucas in the plaid? He was pretty condescending for no reason sometimes
@@Sul516 Yeah, he's the one in the plaid. After re-watching it, I don't feel like he was too bad, but like you mentioned it seemed he had a faint air of condescension in his tone at times. Especially when they asked the question about being called an addict. But, that's just my opinion for all it amounts to, lol.

Martha N What’s your problem? There’s no reason to be so unnecessarily rude.
@@josephsherby Maybe a bit forward but true. Unfortunately for some addicts, the affects of drugs can dampen down emotions including the need to express thoughts, feelings, or emotions for others.
Maybe they aren’t touchy feely or they didn’t want to GET emotional. Leave them be.
Why isn’t anybody talking about Jonathan? He’s such a great guy and the story of his friends passing was so sad.
Absolutely adore him. I can really respect the message he was putting out there. Seems like a great guy who is working really hard to help himself.

When he started tearing up I almost started tearing up too because I lost one of my best friends to an overdose as well

I think it’s safe to say they weren’t addicted to heroin lmao
"Junkie" isn't necessarily a pejorative term, it just means they use alot of dope and dedicate alot of time to it. I've known junkies that aren't addicts, and addicts that aren't junkies (who still use dope)
this made me so mad

Hope and pray for these people to be delivered, liberated from any addiction, as anyone else going through this.
Be blessed
I've been clean for 3 years but when she said the word "coke", brought up a craving. i think the biggest misconception with addiction as that its a past. no; its a past, present and future, an every day battle, occasional dreams. for me, the smell of a clean hallway with strong cleaning products to this day still brings up a craving. my dad always says you are never "no longer an addict"; you're an addict who doesn't do drugs.
"you're an addict who doesn't do drugs" SPOT ON.
in case you haven't heard it enough, I'm proud of you. you're doing amazing
Facts! Also, one of the hardest things is when people who have never suffered with addiction say things like “ oh why don’t you just not do it”, 😩 if I could just not do it do you think I’d be in the same position? No. I would be clean and sober like I’ve been trying to do for the past 7 years of my adult life. I find addicts are some of the most empathetic and kind people behind the addiction, the way addiction throws my morals away for a moment then I still have to deal with the consequences of my actions afterwards because I beat myself up keeps me in a loop and it’s so frustrating, my substance of choice is the same as yours and I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. Keep it up 👍.

That legit made me tingle. Thanks man that means a lot, honestly.
The food addict has an extremely valid issue that shouldn’t be written off, yes, but it felt weird having mostly drug/alcohol addicts and one food addict. It either should have been a good mix of people with a variety of addictions or just drug and alcohol.
