Thanks for making an unbiased report on people of Kashmir,it was informative and we'll researched. Good job keep it up! P.S This is coming from an ethnic Kashmiri(koshur) .
Even the word kasher is a hebrew name , I solemnly believe kashmiris are one of the lost tribes of Israel, so many similarities u can't ignore in PPL of Jerusalem and Kashmir, there skin tone is basically same the culture represention is same , the height the genetics , and there are so many places in Kashmir that are named in Hebrew like YUS MARG
I’m a Kashmiri Pandit Brahmin from a long line of Kashmiri natives. We have a scrapbook for at least 6 generations. My great grandmother was a fiery redhead, I’ve got cousins who are ginger and while I am dark haired for whatever reason I have loads of red hair in my beard
I dont think soo...i can tell that by looking at your profile picture. Although theres a kashmiri hindu girl i know, her names pooja ganantra and she has red hair, super light skin and blue eyes. And she was born and raised in bombay
I was not talking about any group in particular, I don't think being offended is exclusive to whites, africans, indians or whatever, snowflakes are all around.
Regions like this interest the hell out of me. The meeting of such different cultures ethnicities and phenotypes and also people left over from the past is always an interesting thing.
I think it's fascinating and wonderful the diversities of people in this area, especially but also in other parts of world too. It shows how connected we all are over time I've just been reading about Tartusso and it's civilisation in bronze age southern Spain. This all makes you realise how beautiful and special people are and how we should take care of each other, value and celebrate others ... As we would ourselves for we have each other in our being

@Money-printers at the end of the day, if you back in time enough, almost everyone would be considered invaders except for the most isolated tribes. The europeans invaded native americans. The Anglo saxons invaded the celts. The austronesians invaded the original melanesians in southeast asia etc.
@@nadlax5920 much of the area was populated by a Caucasian race but because of all the invasions was mixed with Indians Mongols and other races you can still find traces of it but only the Hindu pandits tried to keep away from mixing with other races Muslims were mainly persecuted by all the rulers who ever came and had to think more about not starving to death. Kashmiri's were made to forget about their identity, ethnicity by the later authorities controlling the region and absolutely scrubbed off their military history from the books people who tormented them, were made heroes in their text books and even today with a Hindu nationalist party of India controlling the region they want to turnn it into a Hindu region eliminating the Muslim and ethnic threat altogether, or as one of their leaders recently said after stripping us of the semi autonomous rule we can marry their white women now. One rarely sees a ethinic kashmiri walking down the street nowadays and Europeans let the worst things happen just because we are Muslims.
I am a Kashmiri living in Kashmir and I learned a few things from this video today. I dont know to what degree he is right, but yes, Kashmiris do look different from the surrounding people....
Great video man, I'm a Australian born in Gilgit-Balsistan. Trying to understand the whole religious, ethnic, political issue in Kashmir is a real struggle and you've done well. Don't worry too much about being politically correct, there's no way you can discuss this topic without offending one group or another. Education on the issue is biased and national rhetoric on both sides is through the roof. Also regarding the Burusho, the language is pronounced 'Brushaski' the first u being silent. Otherwise epic work Man
Are you a white Australian who wiped out the original dwellers in Australia the aborigines ? If so you vacate australia for the aborigines and also go and comment where the whites are still in occupation of others lands.
i’m afghani and i took a dna test and turned out to be 61% south asian (consisting of afghani and pakistani descent) and 29% northern indian ( had ancestors that lived in Punjab and Western India). and i’m convinced I have kashmiri descent in me. i am very light in complexion just like the unique diverse diaspora of Kashmiri people and the dna results back it up.
South Asian does NOT mean Indian! Its a lazy way by these DNA companies to group Afghans under South Asian because they have a hard time placing us properly. Also i don't think you are Afghan but a Kashmiri troll, espically when you said you have Kashmiri descent because of light skin when no Pashtun would say that.

great video!!! you didnt offend anybody. being a kashmiri, i can relate to what you said. as for the question, dardic people (kashmiris, shina, kho people, kalashas) are unique, inhabiting a region surrounded by indo-aryans (punjabis, sindhis, potoharis) and iranics (pakhtoons, balochs, tajiks). this small area has many different ethnicities living within (wakhis, kho, shina, burushos, baltis, kashmiris, dogris, ladakhis, drokpa etc. The language families are dardic (kashur, khowar, shina) iranic (wakhi, pashto) language isolate (burusho) sino-tibetan (balti, ladakhi) indo-aryan (punjabi, pahari, gojri)
Sindhi are Indo Aryans, no dispute about that. And sindhis are way different than West india like Maharashtra or Gujarat. No need to burst your blood vessel about that
It is quite clear in my name that I am a kashmiri, or maybe u r ignorant and consumed by Pakistan hatred ? So if there are pakistani biases, I welcome u to correct them rather than throwing a tantrum
Now u asked about a video by the uploader. Before telling me to watch it, u should have known that West india is a region and not ethnicity ( as u were whining about). U need to act on ur own advices
So u were throwing a tantrum just because I mentioned a an ethnicity which doesn't share a common border with Kashmir region?? Taking your words further, UP uttarakand n haryana also don't share a border with kashmir!!!! U are doin the same thing which u r accusing me of !!!!! Such astounding hypocrisy

My family is from Azad Kashmir, district Mirpur. Linguistically mirpuris speak photrawri this is closely related to punjabi, but regardeded by some as a language in its own right. Looks wise my family show the full range from Chinese looking ( me), to very fair to dark complections. There is alot of linguistic variation in Azad Kashmir. For example hinko speakers in Muzafrabad. My general reflection is that kashmiris in Azad kashmir closely resemble the Pakistani populations on the pakistan side of the border. Kashmir like the subcontinent has a rich history. Lets all celebrate that. Both Pakistan and india should come together to find a solution that ends the sufferring of kashmiris. And respects the territorial integrity of Kashmir. I would love to be able to visit sirinager.
Peoples from poonch division and muzafarabad division look very similar with hazara our muree peoples ... peoples from these two divisions are more fair skinned then southern districts of Ajk... most of our peoples when traveling to lahore or karachi... they are identified as Pathans. .

The people of Kashmir sometimes remind me of the Iberian Peninsula, the Basque regions of Spain and the people from the various countries that touch the Mediterranean Sea.
I agree. That's because because of the J haplogroup associated with Tajiks is predominantly present in Kashmiri and Himachalis( though only around Shimla hills). Although, like rest of the Indians they too have the presence of all the major haplogroups it's the J that is in higher proportion. And yes, I have seen many Afghans here in Shimla, and they do look very similar. If it wasn't for the dress sometimes, one wouldn't even see the difference. Here, it is perfectly normal, rather the norm, to have different skin colour even among the siblings.
@@user-ze7ml6ec9mR1a is dominant haplogroup for Tajiks as well for Kashmiri people. Haplogroup J is more present in Southern and Western Iranian population & Neolithic population of Iran. Tajiks are BMAC and Andronovo culture.
I have only heard and seen Kashmir through a very small window of knowledge. The people seem so unique, but for some reason hidden from the media. Yah loves Kashmir and all her tribes!
From a Kashur Koor (Kashmirim lady) : We are Central Asian Aryans. Today Kashmir has many outside non-Kashmiris living in Kashmir like the wonderful Sikhs, the wonderful Hanjis, the wonderful Wattals all these people arrived from outside. Bernier a Semitic-Frenchman (was evidently of Jewish extraction) describes the Kashmiris, ” The people of Kachemire (Kashmir) are proverbial for their clear complexions and fine forms. They are, as well made as Europeans, and their faces have neither the Tartar flat nose nor the small pig-eyes that distinguish the natives of Kacheguer (Kashgar), and which generally mark those of Great Tibet.” P.S. The people of Kashmir are not Darads thougfh the Darads are our Aryan cousins

The blond, brown, red hair and blue eyes comes from the Adamites who resided in the land between the two rivers, Tigris and Euphrates. They later migrated in many different directions but held sway for generations in Turkestan around the Caspian sea.
Yeah that picture is obviously not true color, notice the kid’s skin is grey. Indians are always fascinated with light skin and colored eyes so Kashmiris tend to be almost fetishized for it in India.
@mal ʚĭɞ I was referring to the way other Indians have a fetish for light skin and eyes, not Kashmiris themselves. I had a coworker from Tripura who once told me about how Kashmiris have such light skin they visibly blush. I thought it was funny and a bit odd how fixated he seemed to be on it.
Territorial disputes--or all wars, really--are so unfortunate. My dad always tells me about how his parents and sister visited Kashmir in the 70s and how flaking out on that trip was one of his biggest regrets, because he was told how beautiful it was. As a South Indian-American I've never visited North India (or should I say North-South-Asia? lol) but if I do, Kashmir would be first on my list. Such beauty in their land, clothing, culture, etc. As for the poll, I'd guess that the Kashmiri people possess phenotypes that most closely resemble those of the original Indo-Aryan people, and were able to maintain these traits due to isolation in that mountainous region, just like you suggested. Anyone interested in Kashmiri culture should go to their local Indian grocery store and look for Kashmiri tea! It's typically served with chopped pistachios and it's very fragrant and delicious.
*10th century Kashmiri polymath Abhinavagupta’s description of Kashmir:* Where people normally are poetic and wise, Where even warriors are articulate, Women of cities are lustrous as the moon And charming in their gait, Where accomplished female practitioners of yoga are Bright as the spark of fire Particularly due to the complete opening of the path of the shushumna nerve in them they are also lustrous as the sky in the state of the lunar eclipse Where the wine known as madrika Brings maturity in the talk of love of lovers In which part of the world people get engaged Confidently and unobstructed in the fare of love Where the Gods take interest in remaining engaged in the delight of the chakras and where departs the joy of life and blessedness of liberation where contemplative practiotioners of yoga, munis dwell at various spots And where does Shiva dwell himself all the time. I therefore consider Kashmir As the proper place of yogic accomplishments Siddhi there is no place on the whole of this earth Which may compare with Kashmir in this respect Nor in the respect of contentment or fulfilment of all aspirations.
Pakistan never existed before 1947. People who cannot live with others are racist. Kashmir is but a linguistic province of Indian subcontinent. Only few Muslims from J&K have problem, fascinated by fascisist '2 nation theory'. Germans, Jews and whole humanity had to pay heavily with such ideas. Similarly partition of India on the basis of religion has proved disastrous. Rather than solving any problem, it has created unending problems.

@lost tribe of bani Israel from Kashmir actually it's Hindu Vedic concept , 5 tribe are called Aryan( eastern) , 5 are called asur ( Western) Mesopotamic ( west) and Indus region ( eastern)
Lost tribes of the ancient Israelites are real. In fact they have kept the knowledge as to who they are and some of them are returning back to their ancient honeland. The elite ruling class and Islamist Fascist supress evidence proving their status as lost tribes.

Kashmiris are a part of Dardic community, the earliest inhabitants tracing back to Rig-Vedic times. Mostly resembling modern Slavic people, or maybe ancient Tocharians and modern Nuristanis. In the later Vedic ages, as Vedic Kingdoms moved South ward, there were minor additions from Indic regions, still retaining PIE features. Centuries later, India was under various Hindu rulers, and Kashmir formed important portion of their Kingdom. These Hindu rulers in turn were mixtures of PIE, Iranians, and Native Indians, so during their reign all these genes moved to Kashmir, forming combinations. During Mauryan Empire, Seleucid and Bactrain Empires established close ties with India. Kashmir was the route, so again Kashmiris got Greek/Iranian genes from there. By this time native Kashmiris had significant Indic genes, specially among lower castes. Then there were Kushans, Scythians which added to Iranic/Greek features. At the same time there were mixing from plains of India. During Islamisation, Kashmir gained a lot of gene pool from Iran and neighbouring Pashtuns, who in turn had genes from other parts of middle east. This diluted their PIE DNA, and brought in more middle eastern than Slavic/PIE look. Isolated tribes however retained PIE/pre Vedic traits. Mongol/Mughal rule brought in more Persian gene(as opposed to Turkic, because Mughals considered themselves more Persian than Turkic) Turkic-ation of neighbouring Turkestan, Tarim Basin brought some Turkic/Mongolic genes too. At the same time there were continous influx from Indian plains, with clans like Gaddis,Gujjars, Jats, Rajputs continuously moving in and out. Sikh empire brought Kashmir eventually under Dogri rule, who were from neighbouring Rajasthan originally. This made the elite Hindus more closer to mainland India, who by this time were already far-far removed from PIE. Kashmiris in a word, are similar to Afghans, with a bit more Vedic genes due to "lesser extent" of Islamisation and mountainous terrain which prevented any genocide. However this is very different and may vary even from family to family, and there can be a wide array.

Eurocentrists place waaaaay too much "germanic" phenotype traits on the Greek expansion of Alexander. Greeks themselves have a very low frequency of blonde/light hair and blue/green eyes. even the Romans noted how these traits were extremely common in the Germanic tribes as opposed to the Romans, who came from similar southern European stock as the Greeks.
that is because the ancients of north south asia were a molding of ancient southern europeans and eastern europeans and that these populations met atleast twice in north-south asia. Then they incorporated HG AF not germanic. and these people do not look germanic. they have very strong nosebridges, this is a neolithic farmer traits (from the south)
Kashmiris don't all have colored eyes, white skin. We've diverse range of people over here. You can find people with nordic looks (especially in north kashmir) with olive and tanned skinned Kashmiris too.

Yet, here you purposefully pick out images of the most different looking people within a people-group to theorize about your racial narratives. It is extremely dishonest of you and also intellectually dishonest of you. It makes me wonder about the exaggerations and agendas in many of your other videos. To me, Kashmiri Pandits don't look Dardic. They look like pandits from Punjab and Haryana, but with fairer skin, which is understandable given the cold high altitude climate.
some of them do and some of them don't. ive seen a few videos documenting the large exodus in the 90s and when you see the large crowds of kashmiri hindus it's pretty clear theres a decent amount of diversity within the group. kashmiri muslims look just as diverse to me which makes sense given how much mixing has taken place in the region over the centuries/millenia.
what r u on about, theres kashmiris as fair as nords and as dark as africans. well maybe not so much the latter but most of us are somewhere in between!! stop basing everything off skin color
A video on the Mirpuri diaspora to Britain would be a good topic for you to cover. I despair for the Kashmiris generally, the land would be better off in India and the Hindus population needs strengthening but I guess the majority are Muslim and even if they got independence would be swallowed by Pakistan. Maharaja Singh should have made up his mind before the partition and maybe this wouldn't have been such a thorny issue nowadays. A Kashmir independant of both Pak and India would be ideal. It could be the Switzerland of SE Asia, as could be Nepal.
VileVeil They migrated before the mangla dam. They were Punjabi peasants that sought land elsewhere. They belong mostly to the Jatt "caste", though they have lied overtime of which 'clan' they belong to. They don't belong to any clans part of Kashmir.

But kiani have no history or links to either Jammu or Kashmir or Punjab
Jatt Punyal "mirpur has been inhabited by jatts for a millennia" erm thats either a lie or you're misinformed. Punjabun migration into West Kashmir (yes Mirpur is geographically LOCATED IN WEST KASHMIR) didn't happen until like the 14th century. You've only been there for a couple hundred of years. You don't originally belong in our land and have never been considered one of us. And you don't come from Jammu you migrated from the PUNJAB PLAINS. Seriously this is your OWN history how do you people not know this? You're NOT native, you're outsiders and like I said me and my kin have every right to look at you the way we do. You people have RUINED our image and you're kinda trash.
I suspect that an attempt to return Kashmir to independent status might be the more sane course of action. When you have three major powers, all adjacent to the territory, making conflicting claims, the chances of a peaceful resolution where one power prevails over the others approaches negligible. Let every power step back and let the Kashmiri fashion their own future.

*10th century Kashmiri polymath Abhinavagupta’s description of Kashmir:*
Where people normally are poetic and wise,
Where even warriors are articulate,
Women of cities are lustrous as the moon
And charming in their gait,
Where accomplished female practitioners of yoga are
Bright as the spark of fire
Particularly due to the complete opening
of the path of the shushumna nerve in them
they are also lustrous as the sky
in the state of the lunar eclipse
Where the wine known as madrika
Brings maturity in the talk of love of lovers
In which part of the world people get engaged
Confidently and unobstructed in the fare of love
Where the Gods take interest
in remaining engaged in the delight of the chakras
and where departs the joy of life
and blessedness of liberation
where contemplative practiotioners of yoga,
munis dwell at various spots
And where does Shiva dwell himself all the time.
I therefore consider Kashmir
As the proper place of yogic accomplishments Siddhi
there is no place on the whole of this earth
Which may compare with Kashmir in this respect
Nor in the respect of contentment
or fulfilment of all aspirations.

Pakistan never existed before 1947.

Germans, Jews and whole humanity had to pay heavily with such ideas. Similarly partition of India on the basis of religion has proved disastrous. Rather than solving any problem, it has created unending problems.

@Aijaz Bhat Forgot Ladakhi and Kalash?
Mongol/Mughal rule brought in more Persian gene(as opposed to Turkic, because Mughals considered themselves more Persian than Turkic)
Turkic-ation of neighbouring Turkestan, Tarim Basin brought some Turkic/Mongolic genes too.

Then they incorporated HG AF
not germanic. and these people do not look germanic. they have very strong nosebridges, this is a neolithic farmer traits (from the south)

You seem to fall into white-supremacist narratives about "races" without probably even realizing it. Shame.

No i have seen many dark kashmiri pandits
what r u on about, theres kashmiris as fair as nords and as dark as africans. well maybe not so much the latter but most of us are somewhere in between!! stop basing everything off skin color
@Nature Lover Give me examples
@@sigma4220because of hot climate we aren't used to being living in hot climate and when we migrated there was Air conditioner that time
A video on the Mirpuri diaspora to Britain would be a good topic for you to cover.
VileVeil Mirpuris are not Kashmiri. They are the descendants of Punjabi settlers. They don't have our blood, nor clan.
I wasn't aware of that, thanks for enlightening me. How long have they come from Punjab? Guessing from Ranjit Singhs time maybe?
VileVeil They migrated before the mangla dam. They were Punjabi peasants that sought land elsewhere. They belong mostly to the Jatt "caste", though they have lied overtime of which 'clan' they belong to. They don't belong to any clans part of Kashmir.
I Kiani
Kiani is not a Kashmiri tribe or clan or come to that kiani are not even Pakistanis or Indians. Now get lost you lying refugee. Mirpur has been inhabited by Jatt's for millennia and we are not Kashmiris and never claimed to be. We are proud to be from Jammu province.

Kashmiri here 😎, thanks for making a vid
I suspect that an attempt to return Kashmir to independent status might be the more sane course of action. When you have three major powers, all adjacent to the territory, making conflicting claims, the chances of a peaceful resolution where one power prevails over the others approaches negligible. Let every power step back and let the Kashmiri fashion their own future.
Absolutely right , that is what Kashmiri are demanding from last 70 years .
@Muzzamil Hussein true
@@kashmirdailylife3265 what about the native kashmiri hindus that were slain? i dont suppose the terror struck state would be welcoming to the people they murdered
@Nature Lover Kashmir was acceded to India 🇮🇳 period! So don't use words like occupation

i know everything was peaceful before that (1947) but only under the dogra ruler,
then again matters worsened in 80s due to communal politics
Finally a UA-camr who will address disputes territories as they are. Literally every other UA-camr will pull the most basic map from Google images and slap it on their video showing Azad Kashmir as a permannet part of Pakistan and Aksai Chin as a permanent part of China. It's not. It's disputed and this was never settled. These areas need to be shown with dotted lines and the context understood. Exactly like what he did in this video. Thanks!!
We Kashmiris have always wanted freedom and have always asked for complete independence of Kashmir (except most kashmiri Hindus who have always betrayed their brothers in Kashmir for their religion) We are sick and tired of curfews and killings every other day.
Have you ever wanted to be a Pakistan
Just wondering
Whole world knows that who are the real traitors 😂😂😂
@Kai is life but gdragon is lifer They don't want to get killed and converted that's why
Hindus are the native kashmiri u Muslims are the occupier
I think the whole region should get their independence and have their own peaceful state. India, Pakistan, and China should just free these people.

Excellent vid, I would like to hear more though, when I was fighting in Afghanistan I saw so many interesting looking people, the most captivating eyes. These kazmiries have the same eyes. They are exquisite.
Not all kashmiris have coloured eyes! Infact afghanistan is known for their strong vibrant coloured eyes kashmir just havr the European gene only like 20% of the population have the rest dont
True, after watching the video, I can say that some of them look like Afghans from the light skin and green eyes, but is is also true that most Kashmiri are fair-skinned.

On mistake he made is kashmiri are 3/4 Muslim.Wrong Kashmir was more than 90 % Muslim Until Jammu massacre That destoryed their pure race with Indian race. Other thing those 10% Hindus living there were mere immigrants that came during british rule.
Muslim cam first on land of Kashmir or hindus 😂? For your kind info Hinduism especially rigvedic culture (2000+ bce ) was already spread to mujavant ( upper Kashmir) todays Tocharian region of eastern china
Hindus were the first race who settled in Kashmir
And their is no pure race of muslims 😂 , muslim love to mix with anybody they don't care of blood purity since time of mohmmad ,on the other hand Only hindus talk about pure blood ( gotra system) and caste based marriage ( all due to remain pure in their group)

Kashmir really ought to an autonomous region, at the very least. They were a population that was pure and had their old traditions and whatnot, and I could see it becoming similar to Tibet in a way that tourism could be their primary or secondary revenue stream, and could as a buffer state between the Indians and the Asians (like the Chinese, for example, if one or both ever became hostile towards one another).
Kashmir belongs to india and we will take it at all cost...no force in the world can stop us, not even the god
