    Excellent video! I just purchased a Grand Highlander and the dealer wanted close to $1,200 (just for labor) to install the hitch. Watched your video, took my time and had it installed by myself in appx 3 hours in my garage. No lift needed. Still need to install the hitch converter, though. Tips if installing yourself: use a floor jack to assist in raising the hitch in place to get bolts started, and put a moving blanket or similar down to set the bumper on to mitigate scratches.

    Hello, thank you for the great install video! Very helpful and well done! I have a question about the parts list. I know the hitch "kit" is needed, PT974-48240, which includes the hitch and harness, but also a "Unique Rear Bumper Cover". The parts list says that we also need a Bumper Cover Facia w/ or w/o kick sensor, PT938-48241-11. Is the "Unique Rear Bumper Cover" in the hitch kit the same thing as the Bumper Cover Facia (w/ kick sensor)? I have a Limited so, I'd like to keep the kick sensor, but will I have to buy both the kit and the facia with kick sensor? If so, it seems like I'd end up with an extra facia from the kit. Is this right? I kinda hope not because PT938-48241-11 is another ~$245. Thanks for your help and, again, the great helpful video!

    • @TheYotaChannel
      @TheYotaChannel  2 місяці тому

      Hello, and yes, you will end up with an extra bumper fascia, your old one. The new one is needed because it has the cut-out for the hitch, and the new kick sensor and bracket are needed because of the new mounting location.

To get access to it, open the DRIVER REAR door and remove the body weatherstrip by the rear quarter panel, and you should be able to pop that rear quarter panel out far enough to get access to mounting tabs. I do believe the quarter panel has a 10mm bolt holding it to the body. You dont need to remove the cover completely. You just need enough room to get your hands in there.

    5:16pm Houston. If I ordered the entire kit from the dealer before picking up my new GH MAX what would the cost be? Including labor? I would like to tackle the job myself but use all Toyota OEM parts like you did. Cost of parts alone? I’ll need that power adapter for my trailer. Also my 2011 Prius TPMS LIGHT stays on and new tire pressure sensors put in 3 years ago. I’ve tried all the easy hacks. Are new sensors my only choice? Is there a way to activate the sensors with a hand held programmer like GM has? Love your new channel!!!!

    • @TheYotaChannel
      @TheYotaChannel  10 місяців тому

      Hey, im not sure about the price of the parts. Labor costs can vary from dealer to dealer. As you can see, it's not the most difficult job or time consuming. If you buy the parts yourself from the parts counter and install them yourself, you will definitely save some money. Play it safe and order parts at a Toyota dealer so you can ensure you get the correct parts and decide if you have the time to tackle it on.

    • @TheYotaChannel
      @TheYotaChannel  10 місяців тому

      As far as your 2011 Prius, when you first READY ON the car, does the TPMS light flash several times? Or does it stay on steady. If it's on steady, you have low tire pressure in one or more of your tire. If it flashes, it means a sensor or two may be bad. If you bought new sensors, then YES, you need a Toyota scanner to calibrate the sensors. GM does make it a little easier by just putting it in learn mode and going the tires with a tool

      The mounting location for the converter box is located in the area where you saw the connector, just a little further down.
