Great video thanks! I mentioned in another video. Have you figured out how to get the remote start to not shut the engine off when you unlock the door?
My old expedition had a button under a panel near steering wheel that let you cycle option of things. Ones I changed were time engine ran on remote start, 5,10,15 min and stay running on,off. There were other settings and the dealer did not know about it. Found a yt video, just one, that explained this. Was hoping for same type of thing for tundra by someone much smarter than me!
This was the video here: ua-cam.com/video/fQHb0mU0rvI/v-deo.htmlsi=dy6snluFlG7SZibd Hard to believe that there is not something similar. I’m new to tundra and I think there are more “ford gear heads” that dig into this than Toyota. Personally I don’t know enough but I am hopeful that someone finds it. Good for a million views if found!

Just saw you answered that in another reply. Ignore my question. And thanks again. I was sad when I was expecting my 22 to have wireless CP but this fixed me up !!!
Thinking about adding this to my tundra as well. I wonder if instead of using that 90 degree USB adapter I could tap into the wires in behind and keep everything on the outside looking factory.
Hey Vitesh!…unfortunately it won’t work, you need Apple CarPlay to start with… This module just makes it wireless so you don’t have to plug the phone in…hope that helps!
Thanks for posting this. I have a 2021 Tundra TRD Pro. I picked up one of these from Amazon and it worked as advertised. I do have one issue with it...it is altering the colors on my radio. It seems to put the radio in night mode where the white colors are grayed out. When I disconnect the unit, the colors go back to normal. Have you ever seen this happen and if so any ideas on a fix? Maybe a firmware update? Otherwise it works great. Thanks again for letting us know about this. Keep the great content coming!

Great video thanks for making. I've heard that after an hour or two the unit crashes and needs to be rebooted, have you experienced this issue or any other issues over the past several months? Thank you!
Thanks Frank!…that’s actually never happened to me, the only minor issue I’ve seen is my phone doesn’t connect sometimes and I have to unplug/replug the adapter back in… But if it happens once a month it’s a lot, definitely not some thing that happens all the time…hope that helps!
Thank you, I appreciate that!...and that’s a good question, I’m honestly not sure...I apologize!...if I get an answer I’ll make sure to update the channel!
I am super green to carplay and android auto. I currently plug in my android phone in my '21 Tundra and hate it. I am considering a wireless option, but I am not sure if this carplay module will work with android auto? Your thoughts?
This particular module will not work with Android unfortunately….but I believe they do make Android compatible devices that’ll give you the same results!…I’ve never used/owned an Android so I’m not 100% sure, but I’m almost positive I saw Android modules when I was researching these…hope that helps!
Wow, thanks for the video! Just curious, how does it work with multiple users? For example, my partner and I take turns playing music, so does it have issues with connecting when there are two phones with Bluetooth in the car? Does one of us have to turn off our Bluetooth for the other to use the device?
Yea that’s something I haven’t tested out just yet!...From what I can gather, I believe if you turned off Bluetooth on your device it would connect to the secondary, but I can’t confirm on my own yet...that will be a good follow up test, I’ll keep you guys posted!... thanks for watching!
Thanks for this info. I also found it annoying that you have to plug a wire to connect your phone with CarPlay on the truck! Thanks for your channel! Got a lot of info. and tips from you. By the way, carplay wireless module Amazon link says the dongle is for Audi, Porsche, or Volvo. Is that the correct carplay wireless dongle for the Tundra?
Thanks for the feedback!...yepper, that’s correct... not sure why it doesn’t list Toyota as well but the one in the link is the exact one that I purchased… If you read some of the product reviews and frequently asked questions on it you’ll see that others have used it on Toyota vehicles as well… Works perfectly, still not a single issue with it to this date!... thanks for watching!
Hey Scott!…yes sir, the one I have linked below the video is the exact one I purchased…it doesn’t say Tundra, but if you read the reviews and questions on Amazon, you’ll see several people have used it for Tundras…I’ve also had several viewers purchase it since I posted video and it’s worked perfectly…hope that helps!
that was another one I was considering, but with this one only costing $100 and pretty good reviews, I decided to just try this after all the research I did...the CPLAYAir does seem like another good option though!
One downside is it ties up your WiFi connection. My phone cannot connect to any other WiFi networks/devices while CarPlay adapter is in use. Unlike Bluetooth, WiFi only allows one at a time.
Yea we have unlimited data on our phones so thankfully that’s no problem for me, but if someone used WiFi in the truck that would be an issue...I actually canceled the WiFi in the truck cause we never used it...haha... thanks for watching!
@@NitroZ18Fishing I have unlimited data too. The issue for me is that my ODB2 scanner uses WiFi to communicate data from the truck to my phone. When I’m towing or hauling a heavy load, I like to use the OBD2 scanner to monitor transmission temps and other critical data and display them real-time on my phone using the OBD Fusion app. Unfortunately, the scanner conflicts with the CarPlay adapter.
ah ok, I have an OBD2 as well to monitor the trans temp for the same reason, mine works great, if you want I can link it for ya...I tried it with my wireless carplay and no issues at all...let me know if I can help!
@@NitroZ18Fishing Yes. Please let me know what you’re using for OBD2 scanning. Hopefully it’s not real expensive and works with my ancient iPhone. 😬 Thanks

Does your phone still connect to the Tundra via Bluetooth? Mine won’t connect anymore. Its no biggie cause wireless car play does everything I need with my phone. Just wondering if I screwed something up lol 😂

I installed mine today, most everything is working but I can not reply to a text message, it say to connect my phone but it is connected already I think. 🤷♂️
Thank you for the video and the info! Just installed this on my 2021 Tundra, but noticed I lost the steering wheel controls with wireless CarPlay. Has anyone else experienced this as well?
Unfortunately no, you have to have CarPlay first for this module to work...this only makes it wireless so you don’t have to plug in phone every time...hope that helps!
Hey Marc, I’m almost positive they have them for Android but I’m not too familiar with them since I never owned one…if you do a search for it they should come up…hope that helps!
Thank you!…if you read the details on Amazon, and also read the questions/reviews it’ll show ya what it’s compatible with…Toyota is actually not listed but you can see several people in the reviews who used it with Toyota’s and no issues…I have the direct link to the one I used below the video, it’s still going strong!
@@NitroZ18Fishing have you try NavTool it play all apps on iPhone 📲 the only bad part about NavTool they are now wireless you have plug your phone everytime.
Hey!…running the wires is easy once ya pop off that middle console, I have a video on the channel showing how to disassemble entire dash if it’ll help…I should put together a video on the switches, I’ve had several ask about them
Thank you!…still going strong, love not having that cord!…only minor issue is phone won’t automatically connect at times (I just unplug usb and plug back in), but it’s extremely rare…if it happens once a month it’s a lot…other than that no issues at all!
Got that from Nick at CN Designs, he has a Facebook page where you can order them…tell him I sent ya and he’ll take care of ya!…if ya have any trouble finding his page let me know and I’ll see if I can post a link for ya
Unfortunately no, you have to have CarPlay already in the vehicle…this just makes the connection wireless so you no longer have to plug phone in to use CarPlay
From everything I’ve seen you would have to purchase a whole new head unit… I’ve seen people install aftermarket head units that are compatible with Apple CarPlay, might be worth a look!
@@NitroZ18Fishing Have you heard of Naviks? They apparently have a kit that you can install that makes CarPlay possible in the 14-19 versions, would you think it’s legit and worth the money, just not so sure on aftermarket stuff?
Hey Carlos!… Unfortunately it won't work on a 2018… You have to have CarPlay already in the vehicle, this module just makes it wireless so you don't have to plug your phone in… Hope that helps!

Hey Paul!...no sir, it hasn’t disconnected on me once, yet...haha...I’ll keep you guys updated if I run into any problems but so far it’s working perfectly!

I have a 2020 Tundra. Once the vehicle is turned on I have to unplug and plug back the device from the USB in order for Apple Carplay to start. Any ideas?
Hmm, I’m honestly not sure...I haven’t had any issues at all, I would say maybe un sync it and start from scratch, make sure all WiFi and Bluetooth connections are disconnected before starting the sync process again...let me know how ya make out!
You need wired CarPlay in order for these modules to work, they basically turn your “wired” into “wireless”...so unfortunately it wouldn’t work with the stock unit on a 2014, you would have to install a new head unit first
Yes sir, same as before...you can switch back and forth super easy/quick...just select the option ya want like ya normally would and you’re good to go!
I like it BUT!!! The sound is never the same. I have about 5k invested between my Alpine Halo 9 and the sound system and there is clearly a difference when you are wired and when you on Bluetooth. The dongle works great don’t get me wrong but you loose at least 10% of the clarity in sound
unfortunately no, these modules only make your "wired" CarPlay "wireless"...you would have to swap out your head unit to one with the wired CarPlay in it...hope that helps!
Unfortunately no, this will only work if you already have CarPlay that requires plugging into via a wire…this basically just makes the “wired” CarPlay “wireless”
Yes sir, still working perfectly…all this time there’s only been twice when I got in and it didn’t auto connect…all I did was unplug the usb, wait a couple seconds and plug it back in…it would auto connect with no further issues, I’m lovin it!
Thank you!...yea no prob, the bed cover is the Retrax PowertraxOne XR electric tonneau cover, and the rain guards for my windows are the Weathertech in channels...hope that helps, thanks for watching!
Hey Marc!… that’s basically what it is, but it only works with certain apps and it’s not a 100% mirror image… There may be slight differences on the screen of the truck
Unfortunately this one is only for Apple phones, and I’m not too familiar with Android so I’m not even sure what options are out there for ya….I’m sorry!

Hi Patrick. I have a question for you. In the video, it displays the model number as CPC200-U2W-PLUS. But the link under your video takes us to a product that has a model number of CPC200-02W-PLUS. Same, same? I tried this on 2/28/21
Hey Robert!...yes sir, same exact module...these things can be super confusing (I noticed after doing months of research on em)...but the link I posted was taken directly from my order history and it’s the exact module...if you look in the pics of the listing you’ll actually see the model number I listed, not sure if they just made a typo in the listing or what happened...hope that helps!
This module only works if you already have CarPlay that requires you to plug your phone in… This piece just makes it wireless, it doesn’t actually give you CarPlay if you don’t already have it…hope that helps!
Unfortunately no, not unless you have an aftermarket head unit with CarPlay already… This module is basically made for making wired CarPlay into wireless…hope that helps!

Just installed this on my 2021 Tundra, but noticed I lost the steering wheel controls with wireless CarPlay. Has anyone else experienced this as well?
No prob, thanks for watching Mike!…that’s strange, my wheel controls still work as they should, hopefully someone can chime in and help ya out!
will this give my 2019 Tundra the capability to have apple car play with having to replace the whole thing
Unfortunately no, you have to have CarPlay first for this module to work...this only makes it wireless so you don’t have to plug in phone every time...hope that helps!
@@NitroZ18Fishing bummer thank you
I don't have I Phone. Do they carry for Android?
Hey Marc, I’m almost positive they have them for Android but I’m not too familiar with them since I never owned one…if you do a search for it they should come up…hope that helps!
I wanna do this with my 2020 Tacoma. Where did you get a verified list of compatible vehicles? Great review!
Does it show all apps on iPhone 📲 appears on CarPlay screens?
Not all apps, only ones that are compatible with CarPlay
@@NitroZ18Fishing have you try NavTool it play all apps on iPhone 📲 the only bad part about NavTool they are now wireless you have plug your phone everytime.
I've never tried it, but I'm loving this wireless so if I would have to plug in I don't think I could go back to that!...lol
I’m guessing you have to have the Car Play feature already for that adapter to work?
Yes sir, this basically just makes “wired” CarPlay into “wireless”…so you no longer have to plug it in…hope that helps!
hey how did you put all of those switches on the center console ive been trying to get something like that but dont know how to run wires
Hey!…running the wires is easy once ya pop off that middle console, I have a video on the channel showing how to disassemble entire dash if it’ll help…I should put together a video on the switches, I’ve had several ask about them
Great video, just wondering how the wireless carplay is still holding up?
Thank you!…still going strong, love not having that cord!…only minor issue is phone won’t automatically connect at times (I just unplug usb and plug back in), but it’s extremely rare…if it happens once a month it’s a lot…other than that no issues at all!
Where did you get the 3 switch plate in the middle console? I need one of those!
Got that from Nick at CN Designs, he has a Facebook page where you can order them…tell him I sent ya and he’ll take care of ya!…if ya have any trouble finding his page let me know and I’ll see if I can post a link for ya
So this will work for a 2014 or 2015 tundra, and all I have to do is bet that wireless kit and usb adaptor?
Unfortunately no, you have to have CarPlay already in the vehicle…this just makes the connection wireless so you no longer have to plug phone in to use CarPlay
@@NitroZ18Fishing Ok, thanks! Do you know any devices that make CarPlay possible in the 2014-19 versions? What would j have to buy, install?
From everything I’ve seen you would have to purchase a whole new head unit… I’ve seen people install aftermarket head units that are compatible with Apple CarPlay, might be worth a look!
@@NitroZ18Fishing Have you heard of Naviks? They apparently have a kit that you can install that makes CarPlay possible in the 14-19 versions, would you think it’s legit and worth the money, just not so sure on aftermarket stuff?
How can i connet it on a tundra 2018? What I have to do? Thanks
Hey Carlos!… Unfortunately it won't work on a 2018… You have to have CarPlay already in the vehicle, this module just makes it wireless so you don't have to plug your phone in… Hope that helps!
@@NitroZ18Fishing thanks sir I appreciate it
No prob, happy to help!
Where did you get the custom console around the shifter??? I hate the space wasted in there
Hey Aaron!…do ya mean the pieces around shifter with the blue screws or the switch panels?
@@NitroZ18Fishing the extra switches by the cup holder… piece that you pulled up around the gear shifter. looks like a much better use of space than the OEM
Got them made by a gentleman named Nick from CN Designs, lemme see if I can link his Facebook page for ya!
facebook.com/CNDesignsCO/
Tell him I sent ya!
Do it play UA-cam from your phone?
It'll play the sound through your speaker system but unfortunately you can't watch videos on the screen
Does this work on a 2014 Tundra SR5????
Unfortunately no, you have to have CarPlay in vehicle already…this just makes it wireless
Does it ever disconnect when your listening to music? Or ever find a dead spot where it disconnects?
Hey Paul!...no sir, it hasn’t disconnected on me once, yet...haha...I’ll keep you guys updated if I run into any problems but so far it’s working perfectly!
Also will it work on my 2019 limited
Yes sir, as long as you have wired CarPlay in truck it'll make it wireless!...and I have a new discount code with them, it'll save ya 18%!...the link is below, and use discount code Z18
www.carlinkitcarplay.com
I know you mentioned 20-21 models, these don't work for 14' models do they?
Unfortunately no, you have to have CarPlay already…these modules just make the connection wireless
Does it affect the backup camera
No sir, cameras still work normally!
Will the anytime camera work with this on?
Yepper, I use the camera all the time while connected…hope that helps!
I've had similar issues with not connecting, but since I've updated the software on the Carplay module I haven't had any problems.
Does it work on 2014 tundra module?
You need wired CarPlay in order for these modules to work, they basically turn your “wired” into “wireless”...so unfortunately it wouldn’t work with the stock unit on a 2014, you would have to install a new head unit first
Looks like its only available for 2020 and up Tundras?
Yea unfortunately these modules only work on vehicles that already have the wired CarPlay!...they basically just turn the wired into wireless
What are the cupholder lights??
They’re made by accentglowled, I have them tapped into the 12v outlet in the middle console so the lights automatically come on whenever I start truck
Holy shit, that is awesome. Can you still access your truck radio or mpg menus? Can you connect more than one phone to switch it to? Great stuff!
Yepper!...you can still use truck radio as well, and you can connect 2 phones to it, just not at the same time of course...haha...thanks for watching!
Is that strictly for apple or does it work with android too?
I believe it’s only for CarPlay, this unit will not work with android
What did you use to cut the notch out where the wire sits?
Used my Dremel…worked perfectly!
I marked where I wanted it with a pencil, matched up the wire size to a drill bit, drilled a small hole then used the bigger (matching) bit.
Can you still switch between CarPlay, SiriusXM and regular radio?
Yes sir, same as before...you can switch back and forth super easy/quick...just select the option ya want like ya normally would and you’re good to go!
Will this work on a 2019 tundra? The link says only 21-23
Yepper!...it even worked on my wife's RAV4 and Highlander!
As long as you have wired CarPlay it'll work!
@@NitroZ18Fishing Is there a wireless version for a 2018 Tundra? Or would I have to get a whole new head unit? Thx
Would this work on the 2016 Toyota Tundra
Unfortunately not unless ya have an aftermarket head unit with Apple CarPlay already…this module only makes existing CarPlay wireless…hope that helps!
I like it BUT!!! The sound is never the same. I have about 5k invested between my Alpine Halo 9 and the sound system and there is clearly a difference when you are wired and when you on Bluetooth. The dongle works great don’t get me wrong but you loose at least 10% of the clarity in sound
Would it work on a 2017 tundra TRD pro?
unfortunately no, these modules only make your "wired" CarPlay "wireless"...you would have to swap out your head unit to one with the wired CarPlay in it...hope that helps!
Dose this work for a 15tundra
Unfortunately no, this will only work if you already have CarPlay that requires plugging into via a wire…this basically just makes the “wired” CarPlay “wireless”
How’s this thing holding up?
Awesome, I’ll never go back to a cord again!…lol
That’s pretty slick!
Thank you!
how is it now? still good?
Yes sir, still working perfectly…all this time there’s only been twice when I got in and it didn’t auto connect…all I did was unplug the usb, wait a couple seconds and plug it back in…it would auto connect with no further issues, I’m lovin it!
@@NitroZ18Fishing that's awesome... loved all your mods btw.
Thanks man, I appreciate it!!
Thanks for the video.!! I have a question can you tell me the name or link of the rain guard you Have on The Truck also the bed cover too please..
Thank you!...yea no prob, the bed cover is the Retrax PowertraxOne XR electric tonneau cover, and the rain guards for my windows are the Weathertech in channels...hope that helps, thanks for watching!
@@NitroZ18Fishing thank you 🙏🏻
no prob, happy to help!
Thank you!
No prob, thanks for watching!
You have to have CarPlay though ?
Unfortunately yes, these modules only work on head units that have the wired CarPlay
This is like a smart view mirror for your smartphone? To be able to watch Netflix, youtube, waze off the smartphone
Hey Marc!… that’s basically what it is, but it only works with certain apps and it’s not a 100% mirror image… There may be slight differences on the screen of the truck
I am looking to be able to do Netflix, UA-cam, Disney+..
Awesome video.
Thank you, I appreciate that!!
Does it work for Android phones
Unfortunately this one is only for Apple phones, and I’m not too familiar with Android so I’m not even sure what options are out there for ya….I’m sorry!
Excellent
Thank you, I appreciate it!
40 seconds seems like an eternity.
Did you notice that sounded ridiculous and probably why this is one of the only that didn’t get replied to. We’re all so spoiled with our technology!
These wireless kits eat your phone battery like crazy. So you have to plug it in anyway.
I’ve actually never had that issue, and I use my phone constantly while in truck (pandora/phone calls)
I RARELY plug my phone in anymore
If only there was a box to disable that stupid start-up warning. 🙄
For real!…lol
This shit makes wanna go back to Ford like why can’t it be wireless bruh 💀
Agreed, it’s crazy to me that it’s not stock from the factory with the price of these trucks!
Hello! My name is J-P and I am the engineer for Course Motorsports, an automotive startup based in Vermont right here in the USA. We have developed a phone mount as well as a wireless induction charger with a direct, OEM type fit to your Tundra and were wondering if you would like to do a review if we sent you a sample. Please send me an email at jp@coursemotorsports.com if you are interested!
Is this one work 2019 tundra pro
This module only works if you already have CarPlay that requires you to plug your phone in… This piece just makes it wireless, it doesn’t actually give you CarPlay if you don’t already have it…hope that helps!
hello do you know if this will work for a tundra 2017????
Unfortunately no, you need wired Apple CarPlay first…this basically just takes the existing CarPlay and makes it wireless
Does this work with 2016 toyota tundra oem radio?
Unfortunately no, you have to have “wired” CarPlay already…this just makes it “wireless” so you no longer have to plug in your phone
Will this work on a 2019 tundra sr5?
I’m sorry, if you have factory head unit it will not…Toyota didn’t add CarPlay to the Tundra until 2020 if I remember correctly
Will this work with a 2014 limited?
Unfortunately no, not unless you have an aftermarket head unit with CarPlay already… This module is basically made for making wired CarPlay into wireless…hope that helps!
