Heh... you know... I didn`t really know what to expect when they posted that they were releasing a new song. Personally, I try to approach the music that they make now as if it is a different band. I fell in love with the old music so hard and only a short time after, things changed. I wouldn`t say it got worse, but it was different. Yeah, I also thought that was their reason for changing the logo, to reflect they're a new, different band, yet Sandra was back performing with them live in their last tour, maybe it was just for one date I'm not really sure, but yeah, didn't expect that, and I do am still wishing they're coming back to the real good old Equilibrium though
I don't really listen to metal anymore but I will say the first equilibrium album is definitely up there with my all time favorite albums ever. I've listened to their stuff since and it doesn't really compare. Like Mana, that song is a masterpiece.
For those who wonder, the speech at the end is from the final message of Stephen Hawking. "When we see the earth from space We see ourselves as a whole We see the unity and not the divisions It is such a simple image With accompanying message One planet, one human race"
@@LordVader1094 Race is not the same as culture. You can have the same race and a different culture and vice versa. Especially now that the movement of people is global.

Think of the endless cruelties visited by the inhabitants of one corner of this pixel on the scarcely distinguishable inhabitants of some other corner, how frequent their misunderstandings, how eager they are to kill one another, how fervent their hatreds. Our posturings, our imagined self-importance, the delusion that we have some privileged position in the Universe, are challenged by this point of pale light. Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves. The Earth is the only world known so far to harbor life. There is nowhere else, at least in the near future, to which our species could migrate. Visit, yes. Settle, not yet. Like it or not, for the moment the Earth is where we make our stand. It has been said that astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience. There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny world. To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another, and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we've ever known"
Reading the comments it seems the consensus is that folks want these guys to return to their roots, but as someone unfamiliar with their work this song is pretty dope. Time for me to run down a rabbit hole!
As an old fan it's just a bit sad. I don't think this is bad metal, it's just not the Equilibrium sound I fell in love with. They had imo a very distinctive sound. I like these new singles more than their last album but to me it sounds kind of boring compared to what they've done in the past. Personally I wished bands stopped changing genres when "evolving", they can experiment sure but that changing genre is imo a bit drastic. I always use Tool as an example of a band that evolved in an extraordinary way but still stuck to their sound.
Possibly the best track on Renegades so this is fine with me, honestly. I get they probably aren't gonna retread their original albums so I might as well enjoy the songs I still really like from them.
I hope so, too. But the fact that the song is called in English is already a bad sign (in the context of the band). I feel that it will be the same as on the last album: for example, "A Lost Generation" quite itself contained elements of Japanese folk, but at the same time the song is difficult to consider folk metal, the influence of folk is too small there.
@@Tystros it could be a lot worse, but it could also be better. I think we're never going to hear "old" Equilibrium again. So I guess this is the comprimise.. The epic sound is all there though.
