I dunno, I think they got me with something even more relatable about 3 tracks earlier on this record. Yeah, I mean they got me with the opening track! Haha. Seriously though, "hope is a dangerous little thing, to keep finding out the hard way what tomorrow never brings" is just...a little too on the nose for me to relate to anything else on here at a higher level. But this...probably would have been my most relatable otherwise. Though Try is also still in the race.
Feels like it's been a long time since I've heard something this good. I don't care how well your band can play, there's nothing like honest and from the heart song writing to grip you.
I went to see these guys live when they came to my town about 10 months ago and I got too drunk and kicked out of the venue before I got to see them... one of my best friends that killed himself a couple years ago showed me this band when we hung out back in like 2018 and all I know hes proud I got kicked out of a venue he was quite the drinker and punker and teached me the basics in guitar when I was learning. The Menzingers will always remind me of him and how Im growing older while he wil be forever 22
“Suddenly I’m 17, driving alone for the first time. Smoking cigarettes.. they can’t kill me yet” I love the way your lyrics transport me to different times. Im such a sucker for nostalgic themes!
This album was so good this song just blended right in with the rest and it hasn’t stood out to me until this morning. Greg is an ELITE vocalist and this band should be as big as blink 182. Their lyrics, music, song structure and just everything about them is just great. Met Tom during the Hello Exile tour and he came up to me and my buddies and just chatted with us for a few. Great group of fellas
Just saw these guys last night and it was amazing. It really is impressive how they are able to write so many great songs. It is astounding they are not bigger, or a bigger part of the modern rock conversation. They did not disappoint with the newest release here either. Started the show with “Hope is a Dangerous little Thing”, ended it with “After the Party” and “Casey”. I got my teeth knocked in the pit. My gum hurts today but it’s fine. Great time! Sac has a great concert crowd.
Tom bro I have listen to u for a while now but bro when I tell u there is 3 songs of yours that I love listening to but the hit home so hard in so many ways that I can't help but shed tears every time but bro I thank u so very much for making those with such strong words that it pulls some deep stuff I have stuffed away for years out of me....thank you so very much!! HOG family 4 life bro many blessings 2 u and nova!
Life is jist a test and God has patience, but he shorthens our lives generation too generation bc alot of it is unnecessary. He knows weather we are gonna be good or bad 💯🙏🙏🙏
The older you get, the more you realize how much you don't know about this life... And also how much you didn't know when you thought you did. Paradoxically, this awareness only comes with age.
Going to see them in Charlotte tonight. First concert since the bullshit. Very excited to see this band and Lucero. Music is meds for the soul and I need some lately.
wow, this video says alot. Are you scared this is ending soon? Was being in this band all a dream? Will you wake up from it? Im almost 40 and i wanted to live your dream all my life, i had 2 kids with 2 girls who didnt love me instead. I hope what ever you wake up to is something amazing my friend.
Huge man crush on Greg, I got see The Menzingers live and he's so much handsome in person! Lol Greg I know your straight but I'd definitely go for you...😂
I went to see them live in Jersey City two weeks ago. They were amazing but everyone in the crowd was fucking terrible. I had to move three times and nearly left just because of people dancing less than an inch from my face. I was having a panic attack. Like fuck off. The place was not even packed. They just didn’t care about anyone around them.
"The older I get the less I know, and I knew nothing then" is the most relatable lyric I've heard in years.
These guys are perfect at turning the little disappointments in yourself into song alongs. Feeling bad never sounded better!

@@LordIronfist that's what I love about the band so much and the guy above pointed it out. They have tons of great lyrics on this record!

100%
They are quickly becoming one of my favorite bands. Consistently great song writing and great hooks. Solid rock and roll.

it’s so basic bro… you deserve better
What I love about it is that it’s nostalgic anti-nostalgia. It’s incredible.
@@ShitTalkerExtraordinaire it reminds me of my youth but thanks bro 😂
Menzingers entire catalog is one emotional nostalgia trip and it's amazing. Bad Catholics and lookers might be your thing!
Also great songs!@@ModernMan23

The best live band I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen a shit ton of live bands.
check out "bob & the sagets" it was their band before the menzingers, my band was one of the shitty ones that opened up at the local vfw lol.
@@knolsey cool thanks!
I love menzingers so much. Ever since I discovered them when after the party came out, I've been a huge fan.

I saw them the first time with ADTR and Rise Against. Ever since then I've been obsessed. I've seen them 4 times so far and they never disappoint!
That’s funny that’s the first time I saw them too. Nassau coliseum 2011 I think
“The older I get the less I know, and I knew nothing then” is one of those examples of a chorus you wish you wrote. Fucking genius.
I love growing with this band.
can't stop listening to this one!
this is a long way from the ag center as Bob & The Sagets. miss ya guys, but love seeing the success.

When did Jimmy Fallon start playing drums for The Menzingers?
Don't ruin it
Gotta double check cause listen to too much but I’m pretty sure this is the punk rock album of 2023. Best one hands-down.
fucking love this album

How tf did they get signed to epitaph?
By signing a paper and agreeing to terms
@@slvrstnthb you must be in the band
I’m just surprised epitaph is still around
this song blows. nobody stays should have been the new single.
Um. No. Pass.
