I have an '86 crx si and I love it. It was stolen and trashed a few months ago but I'm slowly rebuilding it and should be back on the road shortly. Currently really wanting to go on a drive but obviously can't so, I'm living vicariously through this video 🤙🏼
Lovely. My first Civic was a 1988, but a schoolmate and neighbour of mine had a 1984 Civic hatchback. She would drive it to school everyday, and even as a kid who knew nothing about cars, I thought it was special
fantastic thank you!! took me back to '86 for sure. owned an '86 CRX Si from new to '97. '86 the best design before the ugly plexiglass rear end. kept it wound up high speed runs from Atlanta to Chicago to San Diego to Colorado...every where! loved down shift to 4th and flooring it to see who what keep up with me...me and my X Si
Looks nicely detailed & well maintained. That’s my favorite part about it. Seeing how it truly was off the lot back then, without faded & cracked plastics & ruined glass. This thing looks well cared for
Classic car, one of the best hot hatches ever and nice to see one in good shape. But dude, it physically hurt me to see you driving with your left foot leaning on the clutch when not shifting! Number 1 rule with stick shifts: left foot off the clutch pedal when not shifting, your clutch will last longer. Thumbs up for video!
I learned to drive stick in a honda, back in 1983, not this model tho, the other 2 door model, I think it was an accord????? It was smooth as butter, and pretty quick too, great video for memories 👍
Love all 80s Hondas. It's amazing how much better than anything domestic they were. One thing though, it always amazes me that in normal driving people would downshift when slowing down. Seems like unnecessary wear on the drive line clutch. Brakes are cheap and easy to replace, clutches are not lol.
Well this is how they teach driving in Europe, it's called economic driving. It's for better safety also, because i was taught to keep shifting when slowing down so if i need to I can accelerate out of a dangerous situation quickly. It's also just a preference, but once you learn one technique, it stays with you for the rest of your life. If it ain't broken, don't change it right
Japanese classic. The sound of the engine is satisfying. I also drive japanese petrol car from 1995 -suzuki swift. The sound of the engine is weird because of the 3 cylinders.
Overall great manual transmission driving skills, smooth and not rushed gear changes at the correct engine rpm. Only the lack of rev matching at downshifts is bothersome. Great car btw. looks very preserved.
Some had manual choke, there was MK2 CRX on eBay uk recently with 1.4 I think and manual choke, my MK1 is 1.5i so auto with fuel injection and Dual Carb MK2 is automatic choke
The CRX needs to return and Honda has to have confidence in the product. The CRZ was a hit and a miss. The back end didn't look aesthetically pleasing. I still believe Honda could have a successful remake of the CRX.
I owned one, same year as this one,I drove semi for a living, and after work, I would go from driving a big machine to this Iittle pocket rocket, weird feeling, ohh so tiny
This video has to be Fake. Where are the people asking you at red lights. Excuse me what year is it? Excuse me what's the gas mileage on that? How fast does it go? Aren't you scared somebody's going to run you over? Is that street legal? You know Normal people talk.
ABSOLUTELY beautiful! This brings back some of my most special memories!!! A true classic! I miss that motoring isn't this simple anymore.
It is when you buy a car like that, which is easy if you don't fall sucker to the insane price gouging of popular online marketplaces.

Something about old cars I love compared to what we have now. I prefer to shift myself it makes cars a lot more fun to drive
Oui c'est plus ludique 😊
Manual means "old" ?? Even new cars are available in Manual mode dude... Grow up.
buy manual HAHAHHAHA
Yes dude grow up. Old doesn't mean manual. kekw.
Is there a diffrence in 90s and present shift feel though?
Wow! This is automatically a classic driving a 3 pedal, 5-sp manual transmission automobile. This brings back memories.
3 speed manual with overdrive is a classic. This is perfection.

Old Japanese (compact) cars are so much fun to drive.
Old Italian and German are a blast to drive manual in
@@tanaka90 depends which model. Any Japanese car is fun as a manual an old Mercedes or Golf III not so much
Unless you just want to stick to older compact JDM models, I cannot tell you what to do

Wow that's a clean one. Brings back good memories of the 90s.
I miss these old cars, this one especially looks like it was very well kept and maintained.
Was my dream car in high-school, but I ended up getting the 86 HF, but later the 2nd gen body grew on me and then I wanted one of those so I got one.
sounds just like my friends '10 Si, love it man

That was amazing! Thanks for sharing!
I still can feel the accurate of the gear shift through the screen...👌
I can relate ❤
Probably the best cars in the 80s and 90s
I owned the same year crx and their really fun to drive.
Love it. Always wanted a CRX but I now drive a CRZ. Noticing the design similarities in the dash and driver-focused controls.
Very nice video. I love how you tested different things too.Much appreciated.
I had a white 86 SI. I always loved the big Honda Speedometer and tach.
綺麗に乗って居られる‼️これからも大切にしてあげて下さい😊。

I had an 85 SI when I was in college, one of my favorite cars ever! Is this your car, looks great.
the interior is better than my 2004 car
They were great cars!
Fun fact: this car is in every GTA game and it goes by the name of "Blista Compact"
The old CRX's were a blast to drive because they were so light. But u better pray u don't get into a accident, they were death traps.
Its a beautiful car

Older than my Nissan Bluebird Turbo. The interior is the same as mine, all square lines
Man I wish interior is as beautiful is as yours, my crx looks like a grizzly bear drove it
The Japanese and Korean cars, especially the old models, are the most reliable cars out there.
nice video
nice dash and interior..,
you really like using your blinkers

Wow, brings back memories of my '87.
How many people stop and ask you what year is it when you're driving?
Love seeing a stock car over a modified, chopped up car always.
its rare to see a completely stock 1980's CRX Si still left
if only everyone had a climate controlled garage and enough care for their car
Nice

I had exact car in 85 model most fun I had driving a $3500 car
excellent car
Driving a manual car is a form of exercise on its own
If I am correct, it appears this video was filmed in Arizona!
didnt realize Liam Hemsworth had this kinda style
the door in the dash is where the nav comes out? 😂
I’m not a fan of the old clickity clack blinker sound lol but otherwise this cars a charm.
I love how it works with bi metal and going faster when light is broke because extra current runs trough it.
These crx are worth a fortune now...if you can find one
❤

Imagine seeing this drive by you. I’d try not to get into an accident looking at all the angles of this car. It is Sexy asf!!
Did these Civics have a choke? I swear my ‘86 1500S 12 valve had a choke to start on cool days. Can anyone confirm this?

I have a 85 crx si and when in throttle, it loses fuel pressure. Need help!
You might have a vacuum leak at the fuel pressure regulator
@@shanestrains2849 can’t find a fuel pressure regulator anywhere
On the fuel rail aren't they
How much they go for I'n 2023
$4,000
Doesn't that depend on condition and the modifications that went into it?
Now this is a real car! If you have never driven a Honda VTEC in a manual transmission car, you have no idea what your life is missing.
Most folks aren't exactly missing a noisy, buzzy engine with no power that you have to rev to squeeze every ounce of power out of it.
@@tom11zz884 u hate cars XD
FYI: The engine in this car did not feature VTEC.
@@tom11zz884 That is haters bs. Every Honda i driven had enough power in the low refs.
50 or even 40 km/h in 5e gear is no problem....
