ahh 1995....worked there 20yrs had a shoe stall with my dad .. best times of my life made some money.. fell in love...spent most of the time laughing :)
I lived in Walthamstow all my life after I was born in Homerton Hospital in Hackney when my mum and dad moved to the different borough from Hackney to Waltham Forest. In the present i lived in Leytonstone/Walthamstow and my mum lived in Chingford.
Excellent video. I have lived in Walthamstow since 1966 and seen all the changes, both good and bad. However, i have travelled a bit to other distant places, inc the USA etc but Walthamstow is still home and i cant see myself leaving it.😃
The old texaco garage at the start used to be at the bottom of Falmer Road. I had a couple mates live towards the top of it when I was a nipper. Used to roll our bikes down that road all the way and hit the breaks just before the bottom 🤦🏻♂️🤣 I lived on Beresford Road by chapel end school. Loved growing up there. Was a lovely manor back then with great people. Moved out in 2004 as you could see it was starting to take a turn for the worst. It’s heartbreaking what it’s become now. Wouldn’t let my dog take a crap there.
Yeah if I could turn back time I’d have put a few bets on over the dogs!!!! And I’m so pleased I moved out of wordhamstow, what a dump it’s turned into. I remember me and my mates getting jumped the second we walked out of cobra sports in selborne walk foe a pair of Nike jordans my mate had just bought.
Someone added sound effects to this. There's no way it's picking up what someone in the shot 30-50 metres away is doing but not getting flooded out by everything off screen that's happening much closer.
A guy wearing waist coat with blue shirt at 4:30 I had this exact look in 1996 when I was at college so I reckon it’s 1996. I think they came together as a set from Fosters.
Spent 6 years there lads n lasses, Durham Lad. Still keep in touch with me cockney marras, lived in the Essex and across the road, New all the landlord's n landladies, and a few barmaid haha, wink wink nudge nudge, haha, I hope all's well down there folks, best regards from County Durham.
Hi Geoff. I grew up in Walthamstow and left for Durham in 1995 as a 16 year old. Still living in Durham now. Witton Gilbert to be precise. I lived in Ringwood Rd just off Markhouse Rd.
I recently applied for Discretionary Housing Payments for a court fine I have on my rent account and DHP paid me £324 pounds to go towards my court fine and they put in my rent account and I asked Waltham Forest council to move it to its right full place (which is in rent account) but I spoke to rent team and there saying to keep it to my rent account for credit. I’m really disappointed with Waltham Forest council. It’s getting ridiculous now. Can some one with a brain please sort out this situation because I’m tired off phoning and asking for help.

Feel sorry for you with all the dirty pki gangs taken over lol
That Ken Dodd poster is from 1995 just to give you an idea of dates!
Walthamstow: a place I am proud to say I lived in for over 17 years.
The last few minutes are Chingford, my house on the Ridgeway is shown at 9:20
Great footage, thank you for sharing it. I grew up here in E17 until the age of 11 and moved back in 2009, this brings back some amazing memories.
My Roots too I was 12 back then all over chingford on my bike roller boots or skate board or bus loved it often think of revisiting .
Just moved from Scotland to Walthamstow and still getting to know it better but good to see how it looked many years before I moved

I wish I could got back then....made better choices...it just more fun back than too
You can't though. But you can visit
I need another Walthamstow drive (done every now and then) after seeing this.
I had my birthday at that Pizza Hut! You could go upstairs. Great footage
Built all apartments behind the iconic dog race track plaque all changed now round there.
This is so deep
Who remembers the man who drew with chalk outfront BHS
Know it all well. Hit 18 in 1990 and the next 10 years there were blinding 🙂
Was a lovely manor back in the 90s 👍 loved growing up there. Great memories of a better time.
Look at the petrol prices
Yes roughly 1/3 of the cost per litre to what is now. Don't think that is a relative rise to cost of living
I noticed a Pee Jay advert on the on old yellow 257 bus, Pee Jay was on Hoe St.
Good old BHS
We lived in Falmer Rd up the side of the garage there.
still no orderly bus queues
Lovely memories
Love this
Back when It was good
Amazing....🙌🏾🙌🏾😭
Nice to see what it looked like before it was enriched cant believe it used to be a nice area

What year is this? I wonder what I was doing then
