The volume on your videos lately have been a little low compared to other UA-cam videos. I’d super appreciate some louder renders in the future! Love u mate
I agree. Last Thomas interview I had cranked all the way up in the car and then google maps voice would blast my eardrums off so I had to mute her. And still I would've liked to been able to turn up the interview a bit more to hear clearer. As a guide, The audio waveform should use 75% of the volume space where possible.
Kickstarter raised 30k, and the game took 3 years. The American median wage is about 34k/year. So did they have another revenue stream? Or did they just make do with ~5k/year each?
Sounds like they weren't aiming to get enough money to pay for them to finish it as much as it was a motivator. Maybe helped pay for translators, marketing, etc. I think it how much you get from a Kickstart could depend on a lot of things beyond just being indie. For example their goal amount probably wasn't much lower than 30k. I've seen indie games raise 100k+ to fund basically the full development and production.
If a game that was like weekly on my reddit feed only made 30k with kickstarter... this means kickstarter is totally not worth it when not even well known indie games can get money out of it
Earning $34K on Kickstarter, to this day, remains my biggest career accomplishment. Pressure's on to finish and deliver a game so good that our next Kickstarter earns at least twice as much. Then we can keep this good thing going forever!
guys, kickstarter or epic megagrants? which one is better for ue users? i think megagrants? we don't need to pay back, we can use the fund anyway we want, we can get good funding without marketing?

I agree! I turn my laptop volume all the way up, and it's still hard to hear, while other UA-cam videos are blasting

They probably lived off of savings then spent the kickstarter money on additional development (sounds, marketing etc).
If it's a two man team they aren't getting paid until the release.

Unnecessarily pessimistic in my opinion, the project itself is, after all, extremely niche.
Earning $34K on Kickstarter, to this day, remains my biggest career accomplishment.

Congratulations! What is your project? I’d like to follow
Important advices in this video! Thanks
Would you pay tax on money you get from kickstarter for example?
Sadly kick not available in my country 😢
