The Roses at their best turned out a lot of that music that, if ones to cover it they'd better get it right. This is a brilliant example of a cover done proper.
Mine is way gone. Here are my tips. You regret the things you did not do way more than anything you ever did. DO WAY MORE. You can do anything you want. You can't do everything you want. FOCUS ON THAT ONE THING BECAUSE IT WILL TAKE YOU EVERYWHERE. Be bold. Never make a case against yourself. Do not waste your time with trivial pursuits or persons. DO WAY MORE.
I dunno. I saw them at a festival and it was incredible. Then I bought tickets to the show at a venue. The following year. I stopped listening to them because of that second performance.
I remember as a kid my pop would take my brother and I to Wrigley Field occasionally. There were food vendors who moved among the seats shouting the wares they had to sell. "Peanuts, popcorn, Ravonettes!" We always got peanuts and popcorn and pop would have a beer, I always wanted to try a Ravonette. Now I have, and it is good. And those chocolate-covered raisins were a treat as well.
The original is one of the greatest songs ever created and this definitely does it justice. The Raveonettes have always been great and constantly put out brilliant music.
Michael Bernier stone roses weren't shoegaze, i dunno what genre they are, probably psychedelia or baggy, but they weren't shoegaze. Like, if you listen to fool's gold or elephant stone or smth it's pretty obvious.
The movie is called 'Bo'. It's a movie from Belgium. It's about a 16-year old girl , called Deborah, who has problems at home. One day she meets the 18-year old girl 'Jennifer' who is an escort-girl. Her life looks perfect, so she decides to become an escort-girl as well.
Excellent cover. Papers in Chicago raved about this group for the longest time, but never got around to hearing them. Better late than never that I get to catch up!
I have borderline personality disorder, and I just bawled my eyes out after listening to this song and watching the clip for the first time. I didn't know it was from a movie, and I wasn't sure if she was an escort or letting the man sleep with her to feel "liked". So I was able to relate to the scenes were she looks detached from herself and everything around her. The scene @ 00:43 she looked depressed, the man "comforting" her for a few seconds and then treating her like a piece of meat..uh
Alex Stone have you heard bye bye badman or she's a waterfall? elephant stone and fool's gold are pretty good too. the history of the band is pretty funny as well-there's a documentary about their contractual problems on youtube called blood on the dancefloor if you have a spare hour or so
The Stone Roses have a 'sound', which is why a band covering one of their songs could never be better than the original, this sounds really different to the original and it's quite nice tbh. Coming from a Roses die-hard.
+daniel bustamante I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not, if not then thanks for the compliment, if you're taking the piss, then, oh what the hell I'm far too tired n depressed to argue.
Just noticed the "Last one from this movie :D I promise" ... I've been listening to this shit since the start of the quarantine in 2020, ma'. I would've never heard this version of the song if not for this video (which has the beat that I secretly probably prefer).
This is the sound of my youth. Of cold empty flats on upper floors of old buildings. On the edge of downtown and nothing, a giant desolate city drowning in night. A girl from someplace far away sits on a frameless mattress, her cigarettes filling the ashtray, her journal and pen lay beside her, canvasses of her open heart lean against walls. I stand at the door, resplendent in dead mans coat, dead mans shoes. A lean hungry young man of long ago, thinking "This will be the last time".
I have tried to purchase this movie for ages and it cannot be found anywhere! It is amazing movie. It is called Bo. I was lucky to find one to watch with english subtitles, but it is like the movie disappeared
The song is what emptiness, loneliness, and longing sounds like.
That's why I love it
@@codiserville593 Me too! 🙃
That comments hits hard in 2020.
The opposite. It's about owning who you are and what you want.
Don't have to sell my soul
Excellent cover. I love the deep, smoky, and hard electric sound.
Best thing about this cover: hearing it from a woman's voice.
Listen to King Woman’s version. So good
I adore the original, and adore this cover. Fantastic.
What for?
Best 90s song
The Roses at their best turned out a lot of that music that, if ones to cover it they'd better get it right. This is a brilliant example of a cover done proper.
Totally agree 100%
I adore you ❤️ (no homo)
My youth is slipping away... I still want to be adored....

There isn't one bad song that the Raveonettes have released. They are so enchanting.
I dunno. I saw them at a festival and it was incredible. Then I bought tickets to the show at a venue. The following year. I stopped listening to them because of that second performance.
@@tomatoleaf9828 that seems really excessive. Sometimes everyone has shitty performances.
Stole a song but shaggable.
@@therespectedlex9794 Cover songs are not "stolen." Moron.
It's a cover song originally sang by The Stone Roses. In case you didn't know.😊
Nothing beats the original by the Stone Roses but I have to say, this is not half bad, as a matter of fact, I like it a lot.
It’s like the same song with a female vocalist.
I like this version better.
I like this version better.
Yes, I prefer Stone Roses 😊
I already love the Raveonettes...now they do a classic Stone Roses song. Excellent taste in covers!
This is a fucking brilliant cover tbf.
+Szaam I like the revised ending a lot more and they kept it more sinister.
This song is one of those greats that should only be covered by an artist who can truly do the original justice. This cover does that and more :)

best cover of a shoegazer era song, so brilliant!
Michael Bernier stone roses weren't shoegaze, i dunno what genre they are, probably psychedelia or baggy, but they weren't shoegaze. Like, if you listen to fool's gold or elephant stone or smth it's pretty obvious.
The Stone Roses were awesome, nice cover :)

Classic pop was carried triumphantly into the 21st century by the Raveonettes. The group has enriched many lives. .

The Raveonettes fucking killed this song with a cover that showed other artists how it's supposed to be done!
