    Mahikeng was my second home for 11 years until I came back to Pretoria in 2014. The town, Mahikeng is completely surrounded by villages since the land belongs to Barolong Boo Ratshidi tribal authority. 20km to the South, there is Ramatlabama border post to Botswana. What interesting is that you find Barolong in both countries, separate by border but under one chief. Batswana in general are peace loving people. Thanks for the video.

      I am of the Barolong lineage myself but was born in Alexandra and grew up in Limpopo where my dad served in the the ZCC. It is interesting to learn a bit about what you have shared. My dad who passed on in 1978 came from Dithakwaneng village, Vryburg, but long before I was born he never had any contact with the area of his origins. I'd be interested to understand if the Barolong people also can be found there and what could one do to research further?

      Yes Botswana is a beautiful place. I've been there four times doing Turbine-shutdowns at the Soda-Ash plant. I think in Sua. Wonderful people and the country is just out of this world. We used to drive around a lot seeing animals stroling around unaware of us. Completely free. After one such shutdown, we drove through to the Zimbabwean Waterfalls. I was amazed by how beautiful that place was. Just to think that God created everything and how blessed we as human beings really are.

      The Capital of Bechunaland was Mahikeng. Before that Gauteng, Northern Cape and North West are all Botswana stolen land. The Kalahari is even worse, it’s in Botswana, South Africa and Namibia and we are one people still.

    You cant enquire about land through emails , so in villages theres clans, Makgotlha, you visit the king, questions will be asked about your clan etc , they already know much so you cant lie, and it most cases they dont give land to ppl outside the clans ... If your clan is correct, recognised & your surname is local, you'll get the plot for free ... land bought from an individual is a no go area

      In a traditional South African way, if one needs land in a village, they visit the village and ask around where they can find the chief of the village. Assuming one has interest in the village, they visit the chief and state their case. Please do that. The villagers will direct you. Please don’t make deals on the phone when it comes to land issues in rural areas. Let the chief direct you to plots available and deal direct with the chief. So many scammers out there. That is why I don’t put phone numbers. Rural land is for people and not for sale. The fee you pay is just an administration fee to the chief and the village and sometimes it’s split with the municipality to pay for Levies. All the best. 🙏🏾❤️

    BEAUTIFUL HOUSES. I, AS A WHITE SOUTH AFRICAN WOULD HAVE LOVED TO LIVE AND OWN SUCH A BEAUTIFUL HOUSE DOWN IN MAFIKENG, AS MY AUNT AND HER HUSBAND USWED TO OWN A BIG FARM DOWN THERE IN THE 1950'S UPWARDS. AS I WAS ADOPTED AT THE AGE OF FIVE INTO THERE FAMILY, MY STEPMOM AND DAD VISITED THEM AS THEY WERE SISTERS AND LET ME STAY WITH THEM FOR THREE WEEKS. WE LIVED IN BOKSBURG, AND THAT SAME AUNT'S TWO DAUGHTERS LIVED WITH US THEN, AS THEY WERE BOTH IN VOORTREKKER HIGHSCHOOL, AS MAFE KING AT THAT TIME NEVER HAD ANY SCHOOLS. AFTER THE THREE WEEKS THAT I'VE STAYED WITH MY AUNT, MY STEPMOM CAME TO PICK ME UP TO GO BACK HOME, BUT MY AUNT AND HER HUSBAND REFUSED TO GIVE ME BACK,AS THEY FELL DEEPLY IN LOVE WITH ME. AFTER A BAD CONFRONTATION THEY GAVE ME BACK TO MY STEPMOM AND I NEVER SAW THEM AGAIN . ONLY AFTER A YEAR BEFORE MY AUNTSD DEATH, DID THE TWO SISTERS MADE UP. THE SIRCUMSTANCES OF THEM LOSING THE FARM, I REALLY DON'T KNOW AS MY UNCLE ALSO PASSED AWAY DURING THE BRAKE-UP. MY AUNT PASSED AWAY AND WE WENT TO HER BURIAL IN SANNIESHOF QUITE A FEW YEARS AGO. HER ONE DAUGHTER WICH ARE QUITE ELDERLY, LIVES IN HAMMASKRAAL. UP TO TODAY I ALSO DON'T KNOW IF SHE'S STILL ALIVE. I'M 69 YEARS OLD NOW, BUT STILL HAS GOT THAT BEAUTIFUL MEMORIES OF THAT WONDERFUL STAY WITH THEM AS MY UNCLE USED TO HAVE A MASSIVE BRAMAAN COW BREEDING FARM DOWN THERE..I BECAME A FITTER AND TURNER AT DUNSWART IRON AND STEEL WORKS IN 1970 AFTER LEAVING HIGH-SCHOOL (DR. E.G. JANSEN).COMPLETED MY TRADESMANSHIP, I WENT TO MORRIS-CRANES FOR EXPERIENCE IN OVERHEAD-CRANE BUILDING. AFTER THAT 4 YEARS I WENT TO DAVID-BROWN GEAR INDUSTRIES IN BENONI TO GANE SOME GEARBOX-BUILDING EXPERIENCE. ONE YEAR LATER I WAS WORKING AT.BARLOWS HEAVY ENGINEERING FOR ABOUT 4 MONTHS UPON FROM THERE I WENT TO E.R.P.M. MINES AS A UNDERGROUND FITTER.. I ALSO WORKED AT YSCOR( NOW MITTAL STEEL) IN VANDERBIJLPARK. WORKED AT SACMECH-CRANES WICH BECAME TOCO-CRANES ON A LATER STAGE, UP TO 2004, WHEN THEY CLOSED DOWN AFTER SELLING THE COMPANY TO AN UN-EXPERIENCED GROUP FOR ONLY ONE YEAR BEFORE THEY FILED FOR BANCRUPCY. I STARTED DOING TURBINE-SHUTDOWNS AT A.E.C.I. AT MODDERFONTEIN THEN. ALSO DID A FEW TURBINE-SHUTDOWN FOR M.A.N. IN GERMISTON. AFTER THAT I STARTED WORKING AS A CONTRACTOR FOR ELCA-ENGINEERING IN VANDERBIJL-PARK FOR THREE YEARS UP UNTIL I WAS PAID OFF IN 2OI8 WITH THE OUTBRAKE OF THE COVID EPIDEMY. I WAS 66 YEARS OLD THEN,AND SINCE THEN I COULD'T FIND A JOB, AS OF MY AGE. I BOUGHT A HOUSE IN VAN DYK PARK, BOKSBURG A LONG TIME AGO AND AS IT'S FULLY PAID UP TODAY, MYSELF AND MY WIFE LIVE THERE AND WE BOTH GET OLD AGE PENSION. I'M STILL LIVING A DREAM OF ONE DAY I MIGHT BE ABLE TO SEE THAT BEAUTY OF MAFIKKENG.

    Thanks so much Sister for the inspiration. We have just bought a piece of land near Mabopane, Pretoria. We are still struggling to put together the finances to build. With your inspiration, we hope to invite you some day to the property to thank you in person for making us aware of the rural areas in South Africa. thanks, again....

      Hello, if I may ask, how much was the land?

    • @dochere-bolelwang
      @dochere-bolelwang Рік тому +2

      It is higher than what you featured recently in Mafeking I guess because of the vicinity to the wider development in the surrounding areas as well as the shorter distance to Pretoria. It cost R24,000,00 for almost the same size as what you showed in Mafikeng if I am not mistaken...
