if you play as Monolith, the Radar and Miracle machine are turned off by default, the game also gives you the achievement, so no psy-damage (it's a workaround so you can play as Monolith, and access the rest of the Zone)

Spoiler ahead: Great video, I honestly felt bad when your companion died so when you had to reload save I admitted felt kinda relieved, haha. Those two have been a staple of the series and feel kinda invested in seeing them live to the end. That being said if they do end up dying in the future, it would suck but if you move on that is just part of the story.

I just started my Monolith playthrough and it's really fun getting into the headspace of a Monolith puppet. I feel a little bad shooting Loners and Eggheads but it's for the good of the Monolith. I like having to be extra on my toes because everyone hates me. I'm hoping to end it with Monolith having total control of the Zone.
Man, I also enjoy playing as the bad guy. Military, Bandits, Monoliths. However, playing as an Ironic pacifist and play Ecologist and kill everyone hahhaha that's fun.

In the lore monolith are supposed to be inmune to psy infection IIRC
