I don't think that I've ever found such an Idol to look up to as much as I have found in Anne Lister. I am now back in school doing a report on her because I just feel like her life has to be shared with those who understand it. I've never felt such solidarity, Clarity, and strength in my own sexuality than when I did when I was watching Gentleman Jack. Suranne Jones is now one of my favorite actresses in the entire world. I'm a pansexual woman with an intense love for this great lesbian Powerhouse of a woman! Oh and the nature and the beauty of this scene literally causes my heart to soar with such incredible feeling of happiness completeness as you see them marry each other and give themselves to each other forever! This scene is so inspiring. I find myself incredibly moved to tears with pride and self- confidence and happiness!
This is very much touching.I love this moment when their hands with rings are so beautifully closed and then slowly apart. It is so true intimate moment. And maybe it is also the nostalgic sign of their future...
The look and smile on 1:10 which is saying i know you are crazy happy about us. Come on.. you can fandom scream and jump from happiness... I have no problem with it.
I've been to this church a couple of times while visiting the UK, in 1996 then again in 2012. Didn't know it was the place where they really got married! LOVELY!
What an excellent editing! The soundtrack flows perfectly. I’ve been waiting for the version with just the bits of the two of them getting married then bantering in the end, and this is exactly it! Thank you sooo much. 🙂
The power of mind and own rituals. If two people can convince them selfs that are married, ITS DONE! They are and will act as if, from that day on and on. So empowering!! ❤❤
Hint to all men kissing the hand is " sooooo" romantic !! Give it a try ..this communion is touching, the body of Christ..the music, the whole scene masterfully done. Touching church scene for Tom and the Anne Lister, Ann Walker. Hope season 2 is as funny w " all " the characters returning on HBO ! 🇺🇸🕊🎩🍋
It's not a real wedding ceremony, since they were gay in 1830. They just went to church on a normal sunday and dedided that was as close of a wadding they could get. The other people in the church aren't couples, they just attending church
It's composed by Murray Gold, such a beautiful song. Wish it was officially released in a sountrack. ua-cam.com/video/STV8qcQHVOc/v-deo.html&ab_channel=MurrayGoldUnreleasedMusic
@@unnamed3932 However... the gateway into the churchyard on Goodramgate was recreated on Precentor's Court at the back of the Hole In The Wall pub, so the church appears to be in much closer proximity to the Minster than it actually is.
Finally...but for f\'( sake writers consultant...scrap anything related to the ex of Ms Lister going back to her. I hate les ship including fk*ng with ex or some random girl after a couple started fighting
I love that the second Walker becomes a wife she goes full wife mode on her.
I love it when Ann walker is like "pooot ya wotch away"
So happy for Anne and Ann ^^
Her thick accent there was sooo cute
I love how she looks at us , the audience, knowing that we adore her and support her ❤️
I love the banter at the end.
Their wedding and banter at the end are my favs.
Me too... just shows a couple...
They are married for 5 minutes, and already bantering... :)
The way she Looks in the camera. It feels like she wants to say: be yourself. You are beautiful and deserve to be happy. And you WILL be happy.
I took it as 'It's finally happening! I get to marry someone!'
@@TheJackdaw77 or I knew she would marry me.😁
I always feel like she’s saying “this is for you”. Like, you can do this too because I did it first.

Me too, very beautiful scene ❤️
this is one of the best scenes I have seen on TV and man it never gets old! I am so happy!
This is one of the most romantic things I’ve seen on screen. Brava🎉

Not a big marriage and wedding person, but that shit is cute!
Sally Wainwright is a genius and Suranne Jones was born to play Anne Lister.
Brilliant

Re: Kissing the hand. I know.
I've just realized Anne is wearing blue. Maybe her black wardrobe is no more
Wait! That’s the way weddings were done? A bunch of couples going: yeah, let’s get married with 200 other couples ?

Can anyone identify the instrumental song that plays in the background?

Love 💞💞👏👏👏👏😘
Mrs lister eyes are somewhat small but big and bright and weird looking but loveable at the same time
❤❤
This series is not going to end well. Anne Lister dies in the end. That's going to be heart breaking.
where is the Church? Does it still there?
Yes, it is in York-- Holy Trinity Church, Goodramgate, York, U.K.
