That is a bad move, the example: I had 2 rental homes and for over 5 years, we were worked by every renter we had, either not paying rent and having to use the court system to remove them or remove themselves, leaving so much destruction we lost all investment preparing for their move in.
The good news is the housing market is so short of homes it took me 3 weeks to sell both rentals at a 36% profit on value, both sold "as is" so no investment to prepare for sale.
Millions of rentals will do the same and you end up with large companies buying them all up, lobby the government to change their laws, and come back with vengeance setting a whole new level of rental cost way more than it is now.

I feel sorry for my tenants as they've been enjoying below market rents for years. As a result of the new law their rents will now increase by 50% per month.

Wait until the big corporate charges you triple, when all of the small landlords sold off their pensions investment. Landlords can cash in. What the tenants are going to do

Well hopefully it will crash the whole rental market this can no longer go on , landlords have had a good run and it’s time to end this madness , give the people some power and clearly it has not worked needs to be taken out of the hands of these people and given to government or some corporations so that houses and not a means to make profit everyone should be able to afford to live in a home

@ it worked perfectly before , so your living in fairyland and landlords aren’t exactly growing the housing marking by building new homes are they , that’s why this model in the long run is gonna fail , like I said you had your 25 years to prove your self and what have they done ? Jack

What about students residential accommodation; can they only demand 1 month deposit? Some ask for 12 months rental in advance. Will the rentals bill apply?

So the homes are up for grab now!
Being a home owner is no fun anyway, lenders r squeezing every penny frm u in interest and product fee - I definitely wanna try myself as a tenant and grab few houses 😂
