Finally a scifi setting with BioTech that isn't just another "fleshscape" hell or "Biomechanical" dystopia.

And the costuming and set design was actually incredible.

What’s the movie called again?
Honestly couldn’t finish this. I think so many movies that seem super depressing for a time is taking a toll on my mental health. Great recap work as always.
They are all dead by the way
It's joke
Try watching archive lol rollercoaster of emotions
Bro, the ending was very positive! They were victorious over the Big Boss and everyone high-fived each other :)
Imagine allowing fiction to affect you
That's sad cuz this was actually a happy story with a good ending! Don't let your fear of the unknown scare you from finding out the good in the end!
I am proud that this movie was produced in my small little country that barely anyone knows of, Lithuania, yet another victory for our little home

I was taken aback as to just how good this movie seems to be. Your summary really sold it to me.
This moview is REALLY good. Like I went in not expecting it to be any good. But was blown away.
@@christopherkrupa580I watched an early premiere with the interviews and digging deeper into the work put behind the movie is even more interesting, like everything was created by hands because the budget was only 5mln, and for a sci-fi, that's not enough. So there were only a few effects made with CGI, the plants, the fungus, all 6 drones all were made by hand. Interesting facts

I really enjoy this recap
This has all the signs of a movie based on a young adult book.
The summary sounds a lot like windup girl, a mature science fiction book. Its more about the artificial girl slave though.
@@Name-de3qw I see a few similarities, but not many.
They're both sci-fi stories about genetic engineering, but that's about it.
I want to see a sequel and see the other sides life.
You already live it.
There is no other side. Inside of cithadel is like matrix
thatll never happen because the world building is so poor the other city cannot be written as its set up. it makes no sense. where would they be able to keep animals. they can literally lock and unlock cells but they cant reterraform the areas with the dangerous plants. its very telling how little people actually understand anything really
Understandable, but you already know what that would look like. Non-Citadel civilizations would devolve into religion, war, sociopathy and general insanity, as demonstrated by the third world. But, for what it's worth, this largely describes modern countries as well.
I'm assuming that life in the Citadels is somewhat similar to Night City from Cyberpunk 2077, where the majority slave away for the sake of the corrupt elite in the megacorporations (or oligarchs as they were termed in the films' opening summary) and local governing body.
I already watch this movie. Its amazing.
And the ending, so good. Full of hope.

Biopunk Is a underated movie genre
*Change My mind*
I love this bioengineering type movies
Have you watched Gattaca?
Seeds now are engineered and owned literally that you can be sued for replanting them. 2022 No bs
Farmer here! There's actually a logic and a reason for this. Crops are consistently prone to viruses and pests, so through modification they become more resilient. If I use the seeds from this past harvest for next after next and my crop becomes infected with a virus that is running rampant my plant's immune system is not prepared for that viral impact because it's from a less potent seed. Also some fruits like apples will produce unique and different produce compared to their parents so for consistency and food security measures are put in place.
@@Taintedgod771 so how did we go 2000 years without the plants being wiped out by "your logic"... genuine question
@@stimulatemyexistence5669 how did population multiply in just over 100 years? Industrial revolution and scientific enlightenment. Go back and look at how many crop blights we've had, because it's minimal compared to what it was.

Vesper

The cgi in this looks amazing
I been playing Fallout 4 for weeks. This is very depictive of a wasteland settler's life story. Like I turned on a TV and I'm getting interdimensional cable or something.....but what the heck is the Title?
Vesper. It means Evening in Latin.
Feels like a glimpse into the future with what companies like Monsanto are already doing, turning GMO plants they create (perhaps at some point the only plants capable of surviving the increasingly extreme climate) into intellectual property and prosecuting farmers for saving seeds. It doesn't seem far-fetched to think that the only means of agriculture will be privatized and only a select few will have access.
Monsanto sues farmers all the time if they don't buy Monsanto seeds and the farmers seeds get cross pollination from Monsanto seeds from a nearby field
outrageous >:O
Please put the names of the movies up when you post

I always enjoy your videos, but I feel like you should at the very least provide the movie name so others can find and support it
It was provided in the beginning, the movie is Vesper.
They literally always provide the name at the beggining of the recap and it’s usually always in text at the beginning of the recaps…..
It's one of the most beautiful movie I have ever seen BTW, the recap doesn't spoil the atmosphere because by the time the movie ends you're just as confused about WTF happened anyway.
Oh ok nice! I must have missed that

8:25 haven’t watched the movie, but how tf the drone fight? it just looks like a floating helmet.
The drone fought by slamming itself into Jonas
nock nock
so the two things the woman overheard were, let her go in the forest, or take care of her, and she decides to grab a knife? they literally said either let you go or care for you, neither of which is a hostile or violent option.
awesome
where do i watch this movie?
Refusing to kill him is the stupidest thing movie characters always do
The premise of the world reminds me of The Windup Girl by Paolo Bacigalupi
I was trying to imagine a sentient A.I system that has extreme green issues that sees the planet being rapidly destroyed and decides to take action by removing humans from the equation to protect the planets ecosystem.
So it seems Monsanto rules the future through its bioengineered seeds and calls itself the Citadel.

This movie "Vesper" should serve as a warning to those who invest in Biological Warfare of what is Plausible in the future..
But you can profit NOW! To hell with the future. Gooooooo Capitalism!!! ~pwalen1962
There are always bad people, before an apocalyptic disaster and after it. Make the best of it and don't let things escalate, the world keeps on turning. Humanity will kill eachother, look at history, this will never change, it's in our genes. If the world stops turning, it's nothing for humans to interfere then just endure and try to survive, but there always will be a tyrant.
Small correction: It's not in our genes, but in our memes. Ancient Greeks were amazing people compared to what we've become after religion destroyed civilization during 2000 years of devolution. We still haven't recovered.
@@gessie meh, we won't be recovering anyways, wish i was an advanced alien 😔
In these kinds of stories you'd expect them to show us what the citadels are like, but they don't, and I like that, the mystery leaves a lot to the imagination in terms of world-building.
