What a game! Lions were down so far, half the stadium left. But I stuck around and got to see one of the best comeback wins of the last decade. One of the loudest crowds I ever heard.
I remember watching this game with my daughters mom (who's a die hard saints fan) AND GOING LIVE after this... Plays like this show why you the mental aspects of football and how to break film down like a pro. Right on GQ!! #OnePrideOrDontRide 💪🏾🦁

@The DB Room 1:50 Not to toot my own horn too much, but I recognized that coverage when I saw it live. My wife and I were watching that game. Before the snap, I had a feeling you guys were running Cover 1 based on the way the CBs were lined up. I didn't know it was robber until after the snap and I saw how the safeties started moving. Once I saw that, I was like, "That's Cover 1 Robber," to myself. My wife was like, "What?" I was like, "Nevermind, honey. It's just a type of defensive play." It did make me wonder why Brees didn't recognize the coverage pre-snap and attempt to take the top off the defense by sending one of the outside WRs on a go route and launching it deep instead. Maybe he did recognize it, just thought you were taking the deep shell coverage, and got fooled. The Saints kinda screwed themselves with that close formation. They should have lined Cooks up farther outside, which would have forced you to take the deep coverage. That said, I was jumping out of my seat when I saw you jump in front of that pass. It was very similar to the pick you got against Matt Ryan when you guys beat the Falcons. I played a lot of football in Elementary, Middle, and High School, so a play like that is something we ran frequently. Especially at the high school level. Granted, we weren't anywhere close to the skill level NFL players were, but football is football, regardless of competition level.

I’m showing my age here but that was a great John Madden tribute with the way you worked that telestrator, even had a few signature “Booms” worked in! Did Austin give you and Ihedigbo the free range to audible like that switching roles as you saw fit?

I don’t think he audibled! Look like he just pointed out the Mike and set the protection! Most people in 3rd and 9 wont be in Cover 2 man! They will prolly be in some form of cover 4 and 2! Trying to get them to check down so you can drive and tackle! Most teams don’t even play man to man on that down and distance! So by us showing split safety look initially he felt like we were in some form of 2 high safety bc James Ihedigbo wasn’t in a position to drop in and cover anyone!
