sorry for responding late, I don’t really do anything I’d consider special. I just play the game!
I used to put a lot of effort into improving before, but I can’t promise you that what I do will work for you.
I play and look at the errors I make compared to other people.
If there’s any mechanics I can get better at I will constantly practice them during downtime.
I recorded a lot of my games and look at what I did to see where I could better myself. Positioning, how I handle winning and losing situations, crosshair placement, strafing and other mechanics.
I’d constantly force myself to play in a way I wasn’t comfortable with, being comfortable with several playstyles is very convenient. Some people would refer to them as roles. (Lurking, entry fragging, sniping, rifling, pistoling, etc…) And if there was a gun I felt uncomfortable with, I’d play it until I was comfortable on it. “Being bad” on a gun is a bad excuse, because you can always practice that gun.
I tried making my comms more straight forward, I’d say my callout once and I’d make the sentence as compact as possible to minimize the words people would have to process.
I’d start a lot of days practicing in sandbox environment (like aim_botz), then hop into a unrealistic training environment (like normal deathmatch, hs only deathmatch or am_…) and end my day off playing in a hyper realistic environment (competitive, faceit, esea, national league matches, scrims or anything alike)
I can’t think of anything off the top of my head, but I hope you don’t find this too long to read and most importantly I hope this helps!!!

Also being inconsistent is probably one of the most normal things you can be, I used to be and still a very inconsistent player. There's nothing wrong with you on that part, don't worry!
