Thank you! Basically I find the V12 and the 56 the best Vandoren reeds with 3rd place the Traditionals and 4rth place the V21. From D'addario, I also like the classic. The very best reeds for me would be V12 3+ but they don't exist. I could really feel how heavy the 3.5 in an exam I had, so I won't use 3.5 V12 again I think.
What if you put a reed a bit higher? So the tip of the reed is 0.3-0.5 mm higher than the mouthpiece edge? Andy Miles advised this for every reed actually to get a bit more resistance and fuller sound.
@@alexeysclarinet9109No, It doesn't work. It's about the wood the reed contains. A 3+ would contain the right amount. There really is quite a space between 3 and 3.5
Hello Jimis, have u ever tried any Pyne's? Here on YT found only two videos on Belcanto. What do u think? I found them nice core sounding, similar to M30L which type of sound I like the most, I understand lately that btw.
@@AlvinsThoughts That's correct. I can't think of any other place you can get trying and being possible for 30 days to return for refund. I have no Idea about Pyne mouthpieces, sorry. M30L I can tell It's great because I own one. I like it better than M30. Though in my opinion, Vandoren should have 3+ reed strength, I think that would be my preference for most of my mouthpieces.
I could not feel how heavy the 3.5 V12s are within the practice sessions. The real challenge to test reeds is in live performances. There with the little anxiety factor I could really feel how heavy is the V12 3.5 compared to practice sessions and I had to play from the 3 pieces of Stravinsky the third. Although it went well, it wasn't the comfoest setup.
@@jimis3167 I see. The same thing constantly happened to me when I was studying. Good reed immediately became a bad reed on the stage, because I was nervous and lost the ability to handle it in the correct way.

@@webtuni have you tried it? Specs look interesting!
@@alexeysclarinet9109 Yes, I have tried them and any of the new 3 models are very good
With ddario reserve classic 3,5 or 3,5+

Strengthwise the reeds fit my playing are Rue Lepic 56 3.5, Traditional 3 and Reserve classic 3. Also V12 3 but they're little lighter than I prefer.

I have one more to say, how to buy mpiece on trial? I read somewhere that you did that, if I'm not mistaken on amazon u've bought.

@@jimis3167 3+ or 3.25 yeah it's great number, played many student years on that. Thx for info!
@@jimis3167 Btw, backun official website also has trial, but 2 weeks only
