I used to be a waitress and I waited on several famous people. Never asked for an autograph. I waited on Matt Hardy. One of my coworkers was a wrestling fan. I asked Matt if he would sign an autograph for him. Matt had me send the young man out and talked to him a few minutes and signed an autograph for him.

I remember seeing you, Scott Hall, and Sean Waltman at the old World Gym’s in Philly back in 1997, located in Center City, on a Sunday after a house show. You guys were wearing your NWO muscle shorts. I was scared to approach and say anything until Scott approached me, shook my hand, and asked me where the calf raise machine was located. I showed him the equipment was and we briefly spoke. Just as I was about to leave, I ran into you, said hello and shook your hand. I didn’t get the chance to interact with Sean but you and Scott were so cool and pleasant. Thanks so much, Kevin. Rest in Power, Scott Hall.

I met Kevin like 5-6 years ago at a convention and he couldn’t have been more real and down to earth. He noticed I was disabled on a cane and he had just had I believe a knee replacement. We shared surgery stories and he recommended things that could help me heal better after some spine surgeries. He even pulled out his phone and pulled up a video and had me stand there watching a video holding his own cellphone. We talked at bare minimum 15-20 minutes and we cracked jokes and talked about original ford bronco’s. Easily one of the nicest wrestlers/celebrities I’ve ever met.

Ivan Koloff was widely regarded as one of the true veteran mentors of the industry as he would take the young upstarts he worked with and not only advise them on how to get over and draw money but also how to avoid the trappings and pitfalls of the industry. He was truly one of the kindest and considerate individuals ever associated with the industry. Always took time with fans and when we lost him a few years ago we not only lost a great wrestler but a damn good human being as well.

I will never forget this. Late February 1997, Monday Night RAW taping. I was leaving the arena with some buddies and tried to take an alternate route to the subway. The path was locked. Damn it! We heard footsteps behind us, and turned around. Well, look who it was! Vince McMahon and good ol' Jim Ross. I saw in Vinnie Mac's face that he didn't want to be spotted. I looked him in the face and just thanked him from the bottom of our hearts for the great show and look forward to more in the near future. He thanked me for that, and shook JR'S hand. Jim Ross was friendly and down to earth. Chatted with him for a little bit and appreciated meeting him. Tipped his cowboy hat at us as a friendly gesture and moved onwards.

Saw something similar at Wrestlecon in Orlando a few years ago. I was in line for the Hardyz and a kid with disabilities was in front of me with who I assume was his grandmother. DDP spotted him from his table, got up, took him to the front of the line to meet Matt and Jeff then took him over to other guys like Gilberg, Hacksaw and others where they spent time with him and gave him some free stuff. I appreciate the art a lot but to some people these wrestlers are real life super heroes and to see they appreciate being appreciated by someone for the escape ot gives them warms my black heart a bit.

Nash really does live in to what he says here. Met him at the fanfest before Lockdown in ‘09. The line for his table was crazy long and he took the time to talk to every person who came up to meet him.
Even though I’m a huge mark for the nWo, I just shook hands with him and thanked him so that my kids could have the time. He talked to each one of my boys and made them feel like the star. It was awesome.
Best part was Kevin asking my little one (2 years old at the time) if he could have his stuffed animal to give to his dog. My son pulled it back over his shoulder and mean mugged Nash. Kevin hammed it up and the whole family had a great laugh and story.
Will see if I can find the pic we took, you can tell we all had a good laugh. I cherish that memory, and appreciate Kevin for being at the center of it.

I can honestly say I've never had a negative experience with pro wrestlers outside of conventions. Sasha Banks took a selfie with my godchild before a live event & signed his belt; never saw him so happy lol. In the late 1980's, at the age of 7, I approached Greg Valentine after a house show to sign my event program as he was about to enter his car to leave. He grunted at me a bit & stayed in character...but he still signed it. When he handed it back to me he said "NOW BEAT IT KID!!!." My father was laughing so hard watching me run back to our vehicle lol. Even Honky Tonk Man (one of the biggest villains at the time) had no issues signing my program "SHAKE RATTLE & ROLL!! HTM." Hope all is well Kevin & Sean. Have an awesome day!

I provided “security” for big kev in Pennsylvania about 8 years ago for a regional promotion. He was the nicest most kind man, and was so humble to all of the adoring fans.
The owner of the promotion had a ten year old daughter who was working, and the father was extremely rude and mean to the kid in front of a lot of people. I watched as Kevin mulled over all the ways he was going to rip this guy to shreds, but ultimately he settled for calling the young lady over and whispering something into her ear quietly as she was crying from embarrassment.
I couldn’t hear what he told her, but undoubtedly it was something to the effect of….”if he does that again, come find me”.
Watching this happen was so emotional for me, as I had been the same type of father(an asshole) to my estranged children, and seeing Big Nash be so nurturing was a shock to my system of reality that we as men are to be the protectors of our women, not the ones to induce fear.
I vowed to be more like kev, and less like the owner after that night, and I’ve cherished the small bit of time I had in his presence. Thank you Kevin for being a great example that day, and for being there to comfort a crying child when she needed it.

I went up and told him I was a fan of his since he won the title from the Iron Sheik in '84, and he was very gracious. And then even though I only paid for a picture, not an autograph, he looked down, signed his picture and handed it to me. It was the Sunday morning and we went to a Waffle house and sure enough as we walked in the door I saw him with 2 guys and they were finishing up there meals. After they finished we walked up to them and Scott was so unbelievably cool to us. There was no pics or autographs but we talked for about 15 mins. So freaken cool. I'm 54 and will never forget that moment ever. R.I.P. To the Bad Guy. Still miss you Scott

Once met Tatanka at a convention over in the UK. Was with my son and we could only afford one signature, so we went for a signed picture over getting his figure signed. Tatanka was more than happy to sign his figure as well but the lady from the convention stopped him and was like he can't do it for free. Tatanka was like, hang around and catch me when I leave the table and I'll sort that out for him. Had a great chat and a lasting memory for my son and me over 10 years later.

Kevin Nash is so cool. I hope to meet him some day. Here's the only time I ran into a wrestler: I once ran into Seth Rollins back in 2019 when Wrestlemania was at Metlife Stadium. My mom was having her dialysis done which was right next door to a crossfit gym in Brooklyn.
I was hanging outside on the block just killing some time and out of nowhere a black SUV pulled up with a sign on the windshield that said WWE, a few minutes later Seth and Becky walked out from the gym, but when I got to them, Becky was already inside the car and Seth was making his way there, I asked Seth for a selfie and he politely declined. I kinda got the vibe that he probably thought I had been purposely waiting for him to come out which wasn't the case. Completely random lol but it is what it is.

Growing up in New Jersey, my father used to take me to Giants and Yankees autograph signings when I was about 10 years old and most of the time the athletes were awesome. Long story short I saw David Tyree (NYG SuperBowl Legend) eating with his family in a random restaurant. Without hesitation I picked up a napkin and asked if he could sign it. “Can’t you see I’m busy right now?” He said. I was so heart broken as a little kid and thought he was a complete jerk. As I’ve gotten older I realized that I disrespected David and his family for interrupting during his family time. There’s a time and place for everything, but out with their family or out on a nice dinner is not a great place to annoy celebrities. Lesson was learned that day. Still love you Tyree!

I am a big believer in "Don't meet your Heroes" but there is a time and a place to approach a celebrity, especially one in show business, and that is at meet and greets, venues where you expect to run into them. Leave them alone otherwise, let them enjoy whatever free time they get off without the bother of their job getting in the way. I can understand making an exception for kids however.

Bret Hart, Shawn, Nash, RVD would always sign and often go out of there way to sign. Shreveport LA in late 90s… You could stand by the table when Big Sexy and Lex are sitting there and a lady comes up to you and asks “are you a professional wrestler?” The guy standing there laughs and looks at Big Sexy who looks back and nods his head… “Yes he’s a professional wrestler his name is Big D-- Daddy” Big Sexy and Lex laugh… Big Sexy gets up tells you “don’t leave I’ll be back” Comes back and invites you to the table… You drink all night with Lex and Big Sexy… Thank you Kevin! A night I’ll never forget! You truly are a genuine nice human no matter how big your fame was at the peak of NWO to have some dude who made you laugh sit down with you for hours just talking validates you saying you’d never refuse an autograph…

I've met Kevin Nash on several occasions. Granted, these were all organized events that he was advertised for, but regardless he has always been one of the coolest dudes ever. Just super down to earth and approachable.
Two summers ago, he was doing a signing at a popular toys & collectables shop about an hour away. We had a group of like ten people and he took the time to talk to all of us even offered to take a group pic despite that not being included with the package we purchased. Someone who I would have no problem walking up to on the street to just say hi.
On that note, if I saw him at a restaurant eating dinner with friends/family, probably not going to be that guy. Just need to read the room and have the slightest sense of social etiquette.

I was waiting in the line for the bus to Wrestlemania this year, and this is right after Wrestlecon let out so all these legends are leaving and heading back up to their rooms. Kevin walks up to me in line and says, “what’s this line for?”. I said, “the bus to Wrestlemania”. I went out of my way there to leave all the wrestlers alone because I didn’t want to be that annoying fan, and then Kevin Nash walks up to me out of hundreds of people in line to talk to me. I've only met wrestlers at indy shows or WWE sanctioned meet and greets, and I have a ton of good memories from those events: I met Finlay and Hornswoggle in 2007 when I was I believe 5 or 6, Finlay saw the collage that me and my sister had made the night before of him and Hornswoggle and he talked to me for a bit, occasionally putting up a finger to tell one of the handlers to give him a minute cuz he was still talking to me, I later met Hornswoggle again in 2018 and he remembered me from all those years ago, I met Shane Douglas at my first indy show in 2013 and got a free autograph and picture with him, Ron Simmons, Ricky Steamboat, Earl Hebner, and Sabu were all friendly when I met them in 2014, Gillberg only charged I believe $10 or $20 for a combo of autograph and picture, then gave the advice of taking as many pics we want since we paid for that privilege, Scott Steiner was friendly when I met him. But, the two that stand out the most are when I met Scott Hall in 2015, I was first in line with my parents and the autograph and picture combo was $35, right after we took the picture, Scott says "Now lets take one for fun" and locks me in a sleeper, then says "Act like I'm doing something to you", during intermission of the show, he walked up to the other end of a table I was passing and said something to me that I don't know what it was because the arena was loud. Two years later, I met Hall again along with Eric Bischoff, X-Pac, Buff Bagwell, and you Kevin, I stood in line and while I was waiting, I greeted Buff and he turned and shook my hand then did it again after my mom had asked if he could do so because she wanted a picture of him shaking my hand. Those experiences are fond memories that I have and I hope to have more in the future

I met Kevin during a Wrestlecon in 2016. I was a naive and socially awkward 14 year old and hearing this made me understand my experience. Kinda caught him at the last second. Grateful as all hell he even stopped, when im sure he couldve kept walking. I used to be very annoying at some points, so now as a man i respect that he didnt even tell me off for not realizing he was leaving. If i saw him about 60 seconds earlier, he wouldve been the first wrestler i ever met. Was shaking because id never spoken to anyone famous irl before, i had no self awareness. Instead of telling me off and ruining my perspective forever that young, i paid for a quick pic and showed my family.
Fans can be very selfish though. Was at a table at a restaurant next to Booker T and his family and the waiter recognized them, brought another waiter over, and the second one spent about 5 minutes gushing loudly about how much he watched him instead of taking anyone's order in the restaurant. Booker was polite but man thats rough, the waiter made quite a scene.

I worked in the airport in my early 20s, and managed a restaurant. The Undertaker came through early morning when I was just setting up and asked if I could make him some steak sandwiches instead of the breakfast menu. We had a nice visit while I prepared his food. I asked him how his family was doing, normal type stuff, and could tell he appreciated it. He interacted in kind, asked how things were for me, etc.
Years later I was managing banks and had many interactions with athletes, executives, etc. Some of which would come back and just want to visit on occasion. I found that no matter what someone does or who they are that we all have a need for kindness in life. I was never in a mindset of taking a photo as I felt sharing life together in those moments was enough. One of the greatest gifts is giving time to another and appreciating each other.

In my fundraising career, I met a lot of well known people and at first it was intimidating and a few I fangirled on the inside. After Stan Lee, it was meeting Leonard Nimoy. Leonard was on my celebrity council for a breast cancer walk. He was always so gracious and kind. Meeting famous people and getting to know some, was a trip. However, when I lived in L.A., I never approached anyone in public. Personally, if someone is out with their family, I just let them enjoy that time. Back in the mid 80s I worked at the hotel in Greenwich, CT. (they were the WWF back then and their headquarters was in Greenwich) and the wrestlers would come in on the airport shuttle. I'm not an autograph seeker so I didn't bother to ask for one, but I met Jake The Snake Roberts, Paul Orndorff, Honky Tonk Man, "Mean" Gene Okerlund (he was a little grumpy at 7:30am when he was checking out), Dan Spivey and Don Kernoodle. I also almost bumped into (literally) Vince McMahon as we came around a corner in the hallway. We both did the awkward side step to get out of each other's way, and ended up getting back in each other's way. I also saw Linda McMahon in a deli 3 days after Jerry Lawler had his heart attack on RAW.
