In labour, mindset is KEY to success. And using the epi-no helps a lot with mindset, just like you said, you walk in confident that you can do it. I used it on my first one and didn’t tear at all.
I used the epino to prepare for birth during two pregnancies. Helped me feel more confident going into labour. My first child was 4,5 kilogram and the second 4,1. I had almost no damage both times. I don't know if it was because of the epino of as the gynaeocologist said: some women are made to deliver big babies ;-) I would use the epino again.
I used epino 2 Times Baby 1 3,3 kilos nothing Baby 2 3,8 kilos nothing and the hospital asked me the reference 2006 and 2008 I used it 1 month before baby
Wow well done. I am always very tense from head to toe (generalised anxiety) and I’ve been using the epi-no every day for the last week and I cannot pass beyond the 4.5 mark.. I wish I had your elasticity or your flexible muscles.
It’s sad American moms can’t get this device. Would love if I had a friend whom I could ship to overseas to then get sent to me. My pelvis floor PT said it could help a lot with biofeedback!
@@BeyondBirthingPelvicFloorPTplease please please do! I’m 28 weeks pregnant and seriously need something like the Epi-No. I may even use a mail forwarding company to get it to America if that’s my only option.
Hey! Thanks for your comment. Have you tried to look on Ebay? Some of our clients have found some on there. Otherwise yes if you have contacts in Europe (or someone you know who is travelling there soon) who can ship it to you, that can be a great option. The Ani ball is also another alternative (made in the UK) but again I don't think they ship to America, sadly. I was so lucky to get my Epino when it was still distributed in Canada! In terms of biofeedback I don't think it is the best tool for the job though - I think if you are to use it just for biofeedback I would rather go for proper biofeedback device for the pelvic floor. But if you are using it for both the stretch AND biofeedback, I agree that it can be worth it.
@@BeyondBirthingPelvicFloorPT Thank you so very much for taking the time to respond, truly !!! The prices of the units on eBay and elsewhere are astronomical and not feasible unfortunately. I wanted the device both for birth prep (I'm 28 weeks pregnant, hypertonic pelvic floor, planning a home birth with nurse midwife) and biofeedback. I see a pelvis floor PT weekly and she suggested this device would be good for both biofeedback and birth prep, but did caution not to inflate to the degree the manufacturer recommends because she said the vaginal tissues are not prepared for that without birth hormones..? Not sure how true that is, but I highly doubt I would even come close anyways so may be a moot point. I don't love the idea of *only* having a biofeedback device because 1) they are expensive and only do one thing and not both things I need and 2) most of them are digital and I like the idea of something analogue, especially ones that let you dilate and could potentially do the job of both dilators and biofeedback. What other devices might you recommend to me with this information, and/or would you recommend I go with the Epi-No and just find a way to get it shipped to the US (like a shipping middle man company)?
Maximal opening for baby of 10cm should be the goal, surely. With the next baby please achieve 10cm diameter to confirm whether tearing can be totally be avoided. I think tearing can be avoided. Please. The rare exception if baby comes out of mum's tummy with hand on face and the elbow than causes the tear. But this is rare. Dr Welheim Horkell inventor of Epi-NO talks about 10cm the constant - maximal opening for baby in the pelvic outlet of the bony pelvis. Thank you.
Thanks for your insight. I still believe that women should listen to their body while using the Epi-no and not push themselves to go too far if it feels like it is too much, as trying to push to 10 cm against body signs & physical tolerance may cause injuries and this is not the goal.
I gave birth 2 kids without tear. 1st baby round head 32cm, 2nd baby 35cm. Last time I trained with epino for the girl is 8,5. Boy is 9cm. And for both of them I started training at 32weeks. Cause I’m afraid of giving birth early at 38w and I was right. I gave birth both of them at 38w3d. 3kgs3

ALong with using the epi-no, should we do the manual perineal 'massage' , or does one replace the other?
You can do one or the other :)
Such a helpful video!! Thank you!!
you are welcome!!

I am using epino but i am little bit confuse that i need to put full epino insert or just half ?????
haha same! it is just half but I've noticed I have to put it in a bit more just because it slips out a bit.

@@BeyondBirthingPelvicFloorPT Stinging is a sign of early tearing. SO do not inflate as much, in which the dial helps.
