    Love the content. Thanks for getting me back into Risk.
    Always loved the game, never new how diverse the maps were nowadays. Started an account a week ago, 24-92, was as high as 21k Master before a series of loses and DC’s, which are brutal on mobile.
    Anyways, love the content, keep it up!

    I really like the conversation. It was a good add to watching a game of Risk. I would like to catch a live stream but I've been working and I keep missing your streams

      Thank you. I've been trying to add in the deeper conversation to the games as much as possible.

    This feels like a really small map for zombies, but good luck pete hoping you make it to the finals this time round!

    Ever read "Feed" by M.T. Anderson? Relates quite well to the technology discussion

    • @TheKillPeteStrategy
      @TheKillPeteStrategy  2 роки тому

      I have not.
      I don't tend to have time to consume a lot of fiction.
      What is the relevant idea(s)

      @@TheKillPeteStrategy It's a futuristic dystopia where everyone is connected to "feednet" (essentially the internet) through chips in their brain.
      It's told through the perspective of a teenager, and is essentially a satire of American society, but raises some super interesting ideas about the potential power of corporations to use consumerism.
      There's also some really interesting ideas about the decay of language and the quest for instant gratification leaves us unable to have meaningful relationships.
      Pretty interesting how "accurate" it is to today, considering it was written in 2002 (although I guess in many ways the writing was already on the wall). Most people consider it a warning against technology, but the way I interpret it (which of course based on my own world view) is that it's not a warning against technology per se as, like you said, technology is just a tool, but rather against human nature and our tendency to be ignorant.

    Hey Pete, @The Kill Pete Strategy, I am reading Moral Tribes by Joshua Greene! I plan to write a demo on why humans divide. The book is great and also talks about evolution. Some of its points could be clearer and some are too wordy, but the ideas are great. its overarching point: Us vs Them is fantastic, its main argument to address this issue (I haven’t read yet and can’t say)
    I plan to read Sapiens. A friend of mine says it sounds like Niche (but most people miss-interpret Niche). This friend said it is similar to Niche in terms of social Darwinism and a superior race. That is not Niche that is a misinterpretation of Niche. What I observe Niche to be focused on is self-betterment through Machiavellian means. I agree with him on self-improvement and it being up to one's will. I don’t like Niche in terms of and ethical point of view. (I strongly agree with Kant's categorial Imperative.
    Anyways I look forward to finishing Moral Tribes and I strongly recommend it to you! I look forward to reading to Sapiens afterwards.
    (I love philosophical chats in the streams, it's how i discovered you channel with Heizung on skepticism.)

      Awesome. I'll add it to my audible now and give it a shot.
      I'm interested to see what a pro Us vs Them argument looks like.
      I love the philosophical chats too and I'm down to have them when I can. Thank you for the recommendation.

    Why does it have to be zombies….

      There is a (mistaken imo) opinion in the community that a variety of modes: Caps, Zombies, 70% Dom etc. are a good test of skill for an FFA player and so should be incorporated into the tournament.

      @@TheKillPeteStrategy always such a tough call too. I swear I've sometimes just let some one really run away with things from turn one for fear of breaking them. The psychology of this game is kind of my favorite part! Especially the things I'm learning about my OWN thinking!

    Hey Pete, I understand the joke about 69 and 420, but I don’t understand 666. Can you explain

    • @TheKillPeteStrategy
      @TheKillPeteStrategy  2 роки тому

      In Christianity 666 is referred to as the mark of the beast and is associated with the devil.

      @@TheKillPeteStrategy I'm just thinking it would have taken the heat from the player who suicided, when he make the assumption he was stuck and had no chance to do much. Which I feel was actually a correct assesment. Those rules just don't work on that map imo.
