Very interesting interview. I flew medevacs as a Navy Hospital Corpsman with MAG 16, 1ST MARINE AIRCRAFT WING IN VIETNAM IN 1969-70. A very interesting man.

Yogi Dorelis is a great guest. Terrific insight into some of the fundamental differences in the services by a man who can speak with authority on the subject. As a fellow New Yorker, I get where he's coming from about the WTC. He brought some real street-smarts to his dealings. Humble, honest, and a straight shooter. Such amazing stories!
Sir, this was a great way for me to spend an hour. Terrific stuff! Thank you.

Yogi is my HERO. I can relate to the difficulty when talking to NON military people. We have different sense of humors for sure. Great job as always Jello.

Jello, this guy was the best interview you’ve had in a long while. Not to take away from your other guests as they’re all good. But Yogi speaks from more of an average guy that’s done a lot of very interesting things. Please work on having him back!

Love the random stories. Not as diverse background as “Yogi” but I did enlisted Marine (ATC) to Army Aviator to current EMS pilot. Like you said, nothing can compare to our time in the military. Nothing.

Good luck to ya! I had a blast. My advice, keep the Marine ethos but don’t be the guy “back when I was in the Marines we did it this way…” You’re in the Army now and you play by their rules. Have fun, ignore the red tape BS (there’s a lot of it) and try and fly your butt off.

@Glashawk1 I've been trying to keep the war stories at a minimum. I was aircrew then so some apply or are relatable I guess but I still try to keep it to myself. Im heading to rucker/novosel very soon. I'm intending on having an absolute blast. I love this stuff.

When McPeak first became PacAF CC he took a HIANG F-15 and came to Hilo, HI to inspect his new command. I was a CAP cadet, so while he was inspecting, I got to sit in the jet. Little did I know that I'd get to experience all his changes while I was in the Air Guard. It was very annoying.

To end up in multi-branches of the armed services like he did, he has to be a "special guy" that is 100% attracted to the military. Not everyone is that dedicated.

At 55:46 mentioning the boat crews that were held captive by the Iranians, I heard from a very reliable source that Obama ordered that crew to stand down. They wanted to fight but were ordered not to.

@@FighterPilotPodcast So true. Capt. Thomas Hudner was my XO on the USS Kitty Hawk CVA-63 in 1967-68 and he told me there's a fine line that separates a court martial from a Medal of Honor.
